- We stated earlier that suspensions are inherently unstable... But how the instability of pharmaceutical suspensions is related to sedimentation? In this video we address this,, Enjoy watching and as always: Stay Fab!

In manufacturing of suspensions , why the point of particles size in of great importance
Hello Mohammed,
Thank you for your question.
Well, from the point of manufacturing, particle size distribution of the suspension that we want to produce will affect its rheological behavior and that would of course should be taken into consideration taking the various steps and the movement of the (product) being produced ..
As a final product, particle size would affect the sedimentation pattern of the suspension and that can pose both pharmaceutical and pharmacological challenges.
Hope this answers your question.
Stay Fab 😃
could you pls give the difference between dispersion and suspended?
Hi mercymathi 😃 Thank you for your question ..
Well, suspensions represent a class of dispersions. Upon standing the dispersed particles can settle down, unlike the other type of dispersions, the colloids. In the latter the particle, there is sedimentation over time. Another important thing that differentiates colloids and suspensions is the particle size; particles are larger in suspensions.
It is worth mentioning that you might find the colloids being referred to as dispersions. Some also call them colloidal dispersion.
Hope this helps, mercymathi☺️
