With 2SV activated, a verification code is sent to your mobile phone when anyone tries to signs in to your account on PS4 systems, web browsers, the PlayStation App, or select Xperia mobile phones. This code is required to complete the sign-in process on these devices. 2-Step Verification for PS3 systems, PlayStation Vita systems, and PlayStation TV systems uses a unique password for each device. Best advice you'll ever get: DO NOT set up 2SV!!!!!! It doesn't send a code, ever. You'll have to call/chat online with customer service, they'll try to send one manually, you won't get it. Their agents are very polite and helpful, but it will take an hour to get back into your account. There is more than enough security in place on consoles that this is an unnecessary and painful option to establish on your account. Better practice is to simply use a different password for everything you sign in to.
Also, DON'T give info to anyone in games, on social media sites, or irl. Only provide info to verify directly on PSN support!!!!!!!

I don't like that they make you use your mobile phone for SMS messaging for the code. It's not encrypted. I would prefer if they use e-mail because most if not ALL e-mail providers create a secure connection.
Can you guys make it so if you made your PSN account in A Different Country you should be able to make it so that you can use any credit card in any country please.

From whom? I use a 10 digit password with alphabets, numbers and special characters.

Can you update the remote play ios app to fully support the ds4? Home button, share and touch pad dont work when using the controller
I recommend everyone to use this. Ive had it enabled for years now but Sony, you still have to update your security software. As a PSN user I still dont feel like its safe to do much online transactions atm. You gotta do a better job.

Okay well with my problem is I do not have the phone number anymore and I'm logged out and I never set up a backup code
I like how the screen says you just need Device Setup Password for the initial sign in but then nope you actually need to save it and use it to sign in each time.
Instead of using your phone number, which is not always reliable. Why can't we use our email?

To anyone who is now having trouble with 2sv 1. Make sure you have back up coeds 2. turn on auto sign in 3. take better care of your phone 4. Call customer support, don't comment on this video 5. rewatch the video you may of missed something.

i got this issue in my ps vita: i reset my password account and when i entered the new password a error code appears or password incorrect. i set 2sv and with the device password i signed up in my psvita. now when i try to enter account information it asked me to enter password and i entered both accont and device password, and it doesnt work, it keeps telling me oncorrect password.

iKatOverLord true but it’s not always that the 2 step really helps protect cause even if someone gets your account they can’t use it without your phone. Without it people could just hack your account it’s pretty common

Wow they could at least make an error saying you need to do all this to sign in on PS3 all I got was a code and I had to search for hours trying to figure it out.
