  • Autumn is a tough time for stags. Both red stags and sika stags are trying to hold hinds. In Scotland, the reds are roaring on the hillsides and the sikas whistling in the woods. We are out after both. Plus we show how to use a hatchet, and you could win a .410 shotgun. Meredyth has the latest from the News Stump and Charlie showcases the best hunting and shooting videos on RUclips in Hunting RUclips. Keep it #FieldsportsBritain.

@@shaynebrewer6306 What a delightful attitude you have to other people that you don't even know. No I do not want to shoot sea eagles. These magnificent birds are only following their nature and are not actually guilty of anything except feeding their young and themselves. The issue is the fact that shepherds are losing lambs in great numbers to these large carnivorous birds. Do you have an answer that would allow lambs and these sea eagles to co-exist? I would like to hear it if you do. That would permit even more sea eagles to occupy the coasts of these British Isles. Do you have any solutions?

Why highlight it the on a field sports channel full of shooters and hunters then, your basically saying big bad eagle what you gonna do about lads, grouse moors are hell holes for raptors it’s disgusting

@@shaynebrewer6306 There was an experiment done years ago in Langholm on a grouse moor. The trial was to last seven years and one half of the moor was left "natural", the other half was looked after by keepers who killed foxes. crows and magpies and other animals like stoats and weasels. The experiment had to be cut short. After three years there was nothing left but foxes, crows magpies and stoats and weasels on the "natural" part of the moor. Every other bird was dead. The half looked after by keepers had 42 different species of songbirds and small hawks and buzzards thrived too. There was also a fox population and the usual crows and magpies but in smaller numbers than the "natural" part of the moor. For many years the population of Scottish Highland Red deer was stable at 365 thousand. Every year around 185 thousand deer were shot to maintain a stable healthy population of deer. The Blair government got into power. They had little or no interest in deer management or deer health and biodiversity. The shooting reduced and in 2007/8 there were 70,000 deer strikes by cars in Scotland. Seven people were killed from striking deer on roads. Tony Blair then suggested that deer be classed as vermin and could be removed night or day by any means. The shooting organisations and the British Deer Society fought to stop this injustice against the Scottish deer population. Presently there are an estimated one million deer in Scotland. Nicola Sturgeon has secretly hired shooters to kill every deer out of season. This extermination includes pregnant females and calves as well as male Red deer. There were no deer left in the three estates that surrounded the area where Nicola Sturgeon carried out this total cull. This was to grow trees. There were now few stalkers or foresters on large areas of land as there was no reason to be out in those sterile areas. There were two forest fires and Scotland lost 43 square miles of forest! Guess what it was game keepers who managed to save the rest of the forests. Not exactly "green" planning from Nicola. Not exactly a great example from Tony Blair's government either. Still not too many people know these facts so poor management continues. Do a bit of research and see who is actually working for the environment, You will find that game keepers and shooters are high on that list of people actually making a positive difference. Knowing that a problem exists is a start but actually doing something is the next step. Chris Packham has practically destroyed the income of some farmers , but he has little idea about how to actually solve the problems that he only points out. That is all talk and very self serving. I am not impressed.

And so the vicious cycle goes around for a moor to be viable to get profitable grouse shooting the raptors have to be controlled and that means anything with claw and beak culled, including protectered bop,the thing is u lost the argument since 1960 ur not allowed to kill a bird of prey
