Inkster, Michigan was also the birthplace of the Marvelettes. It's wonderful to see this sort of thing. I live in Canada and I see abandoned Apt Buildings that could be rebuilt and re rented.
That's real Beautiful That's a good project you'll did. There are a lot of vacant homes, just sitting Idle and people need a place to live. That will cure some of the Homeless situation. I really see GOD blessing you'll with more of these places, get ready. Thanks for helping people.
There are places where you could take existing hotels and through minor work remodel them into an apartment building In some places where you'd want to have higher volume you could leave the rooms alone as single units and use existing industrial kitchens as a sort of community kitchen with a hired staff to make the food for those living there
First bulletproof the windows y’all already know what’s gonna happen. Why not fix that situation before it happens. But the idea was wonderful. I’m sure those people are very thankful for that. All they need is safety from the trigger hands
I'm sure the cops will love being there all the time. Affordable housing by it's very nature will attract crime unless you screen who get to live there, have strict rules/guidelines and 24hr security.
That why, it good to keep it up with law and business, and know that the state ,needs to come together, to end the homeless in their own city and state homeless, it in ny power to out effort to learn business, but it in the state power , to not allow certain rules or regulations, of business owners ,to not overpriced and keep having the same effect, at some point, it goes back to greed or selfishness, cause most can , invest in their communities, this entertainters and musicians have, funds to do. Investors ball, it always , a good abd bad thing, but definitely need that authority 💰 , cause some owners just needs extra push to bring forth more business, and some owners , are greedy and the people need studio. No one knows, but for certain just weighing and helping the people in situation , to stay out and endure. ❤
I'm pretty sure this is the old Mona Lisa motel..the cheapest and dirtiest of all the mich Ave motels..I hope the ppl moving in appreciate it, even if it is still just a tiny apartment it still looks better than what it used to be
Isn’t this the motel that back in the 70’s police serving a warrant got shot and killed. I grew up there and one was from our school. It was such a tragedy. I will never forget the senseless killing. His wife was like 8 months pregnant at his funeral and they had other children. $700.00 is too much money, who can afford that in Inkster.
Got a chance to actually see these they are nice but. I don't like the fact that the city of Inkster employees within their real estate division gets to oversee this too much of the standard ghetto ratchet behavior about this property. If it was just the owners that would be perfectly fine but the individuals from Inkster City Hall never not a good deal 👎🏼🙆🏻♀️🤧🤦🏻♀️
I hope they're not done with the bathrooms because concrete block walls is Not the answer for bath tub walls! It also looks horrendous! Not good at all! 😡
The captions is very difficult to watch - 3lines and new line shows on 3rd line so ure stuck with two lines of old text before reaading the new line and so on... you need to show effort behind the captions.
Ok but what the average income for people who live in Inkster??? The poor is always a good investment for companies like these. If anything sooner or later the poor will be priced out
you need some better looking colors on the front of the entire building no affordable houseing now thats a bad standard affordable housing is that all you got
That might be priced just right you figure, new renovation, no extras right. $700 flat. A home with a cheap mortgage in Detroit off say 45k would be $200 per month plus this plus that plus this and would equal more than 800 per month and god knows what else.
@@bobloblaw9679 that’s for sure. I went looking online afterwards. It’s crazy expensive out there. This lady rehabbing and only charging $700 is amazing.
This conversion is a wonderful idea. 32 units of affordable housing is much needed everywhere. Thank you.

Wow! Bless this couple. I really pray tenants will respect and take care of their units.
What a beautiful thing they’re doing. 👍🏽 I hope too, that more people are able to create affordable housing in every state.
Many Seniors need affordable housing.
Bless this couple abundantly !
Good 👍 job ,It’s a lot of people need a place to live .🙏🏽🙏🏽
God Bless this couple this is beautiful❤
Great♥️ job to the young couple🙏

If the greedy corporations don't snap up those vacant homes into higher rents and condos
We don’t all need a big space, just a comfortable place to call home!❤
This is nice! I hope the people who move in takes care of them.
I like that idea lady go girl
Great job!! More small businesses need to do this.
God bless these individuals!!!!
Excellent idea. Hope others follow suit. With rent that cheap I hope the residents don't take it for granted and tear up their hard work.
I was just about to comment this 💯
Yes exactly I seen this many times, the renters don't take care of the building
Great work to all involved!
What a WONDERFUL thing these folks are doing 4 their community!!!!
Bless this couple ❤❤🫂
What a blessing!❤❤❤❤❤
A follow up story is needed.
I always believe you can take a run down place and make it beautiful great job.☃️👍☃️👏☃️🍀☃️🎈☃️💓☃️
Lovely woman. I loved her “ why not” answer!
Love the attitude & can do spirit "Why not"
Job, well done... thank you..
"What people need is affordable housing" *not forced birthing and homelessness.*
This is how you have Affordable housing, this is how you do it. Please Share this with other Homeless Crisis Cities...🌹
What the homeless need is love. Preferably your love, Scarlett.
What an awesome couple!
It's Beautiful💖
I ve seen this happening in other towns. Great idea 👏👏
Brilliant!
Los Angeles needs this asap
Wonderful!!! Thanks for the report.

What we need is revitalization, not gentrification. Also, developers should invest into affordable housing and not condos and luxury apartments.
They won't do that
Won’t do what exactly?
Love to see it.
They should start doing this in empty malls too
Great job renovating
Kudos to her 🎉🎉🎉
GREAT work!!
I LOVE THIS!!!!

God bless y’all.
Buses on their way from El Paso, thanks so much.
HMM so they moved in it
Great idea.

Love this so much!
That's a great for the community.
700 is a bit much for affordable housing, these were hotel rooms
LMAOOO how much cheaper do you want it to get? Just say you want it for free you bum.
Not really check the market again, everyone I know pays about 1200-1500 and I live on puritan and greenfield
Hallelujah

Wonderful
Wonderful!
Awesome.
That is awesome
Very cool.
Great move to combine rooms for more space per unit and less density overall. Overcrowding does not work well.
If they really going to keep the housing affordable and NOT jack prices up ridiculously in a decade or so, then God bless them.
This is great news.
Wow that's great and need this info
Is this on Michigan avenue?
Because only payment willing are Federal recipients monthly payments or..........
so what do the unites look like now?
Bravo
It will have to be seen if this will be successful. I hope it is, but I have my doubts. Anytime you invest" in the hood", is a gamble.
It moves at a snails pace in Detroit area
It's affordable housing when welfare is picking up the bill.
Is this on Michigan Avenue? What was the name of the old motel?
Amen...
Jesus🙌 $700 that's rent for a house
But at least they care enough to make a difference in INKSTER💚💚💚💚💚
how can you rent a house for 700$ with today's inflation? 700$ a month is 600$ 3 years ago.
Can we have dogs
$700.00? That’s too much for low income people
I’m glad they want to help but
It isn’t going to help those who are struggling

Don't let anyone with a low FICO in there. They will ruin it.
Or section 8??
Ok but what the average income for people who live in Inkster??? The poor is always a good investment for companies like these. If anything sooner or later the poor will be priced out
700 a month is not affordable. But they are doing a good thing.
Detroit investors. THIS is affordable housing in the $700 range.
These should be going for a minimum of $950-not 🤦🏻♀️$700 you going to have people they're tearing up not good but a beautiful place.
you need some better looking colors on the front of the entire building no affordable houseing now thats a bad standard affordable housing is that all you got
Inkster is pretty bad with crime 700 is too much. It does look like they did a good job with renovation though
That might be priced just right you figure, new renovation, no extras right. $700 flat. A home with a cheap mortgage in Detroit off say 45k would be $200 per month plus this plus that plus this and would equal more than 800 per month and god knows what else.
Affordable Rent is not $700 & up
If it ain’t free it ain’t affordable.
Future tenants will fuk this place up. Affordable housing is a myth nowadays.
I could use a place like this assuming they're getting quieter disabled tenants who work part to full time.
Nice she should make it regular apartments with regular rent not HUD housing..
Right not HUD or anything luxurious .
$700 a month for a one bedroom apt in a detroit suburb. yeah 'affordable' LOL
If you think that’s a lot you probably want to avoid looking in Ann Arbor and surrounding areas in Washtenaw County
@@kevingunnery5470 or Dearborn Heights, Redford, or Livonia.
Hell most of Detroit is $700+
@@DetroitGoldie true story
many two bedroom apartments are over 1500/month now in metro detroit.
@@bobloblaw9679 that’s for sure. I went looking online afterwards. It’s crazy expensive out there. This lady rehabbing and only charging $700 is amazing.
too bad deadbeats will destroy it and ruin it for the responsible people.
Right on.😊👑🌍🌏🌎💚@undwallace
