It's part of the £350m Phase 2 Development of Talbot Gateway which includes the Tramway Extension. It continues the regeneration of the area around North Station and Talbot Road and includes a tramway connection to the promenade.

Just had a look on a well known booking website and the soonest available date to book from is Monday 6th May, of course that doesn’t mean that is the date of opening but there isn’t one other month or day showing before then. There are pictures there as well but I think they are mostly artists impressions or could be photos from other holiday inns. Never stayed at one, looks ultra ultra modern. Thanks Jane x

North Station needs a new building that’s got more room and retail. Also incorporate a design where the taxi and drop-off is on the talbot road side
What is the actual completion date? I think I was a kid when I visited Blackpool now in my fifty and looking forward to seeing the tram station refurb with the Alan Bradley tram

Kevin is not the only one worried about you standing in risky places to video all that happens on the Fylde. :-)
I am hoping to see a covered area for intending passengers at Talbot Road terminus, are people expected to wait in the underpass maybe for the next tram on rainy days? I am also wondering what seating arrangements there will be. When my nearest city bus station was about to be completely refurbished I went to the exhibition that the archiects attended. I actually had to point out that there was no seating in the model. I had to tell the architects that people needed seats, awaiting connection buses, when with children and a pram, people with shopping, elderly folk etcetera. They had to be told all this. The probable reason? They all have cars, some have maybe never used a bus in their lives.
If people congregate in the underpass that could cause many problems that would cost more than providing seating. Maybe I am wrong - I hope so.
I remember how dire the old bus station was and the outlook onto the bleak monstrosity of Fine-fare/ car park was so dispiriting, the new Blackpool is bright and becoming brighter with every stage of the evolution. The new hotel opposite the new conference centre will further improve the area. Long may all the improvements continue!

Jane will this be open in September this year ❤ And could you tell me what dates the Blackpool switch on is this year no one knows exact date lol❤
Should be open by then. It's scheduled for 'Spring' this year and showing May on the website. Switch On is always the Friday of bank holiday week - 30 Aug this year x

@visitfyldecoast yep jane it's official , think it will be a great venue, last year it was at the winter Gardens and to be honest it was very underwhelming

I've been hearing those rumours too for end of March/Easter
Haven't got an exact date yet
