Your series on Madeira has inspired me! I am making a circuit of Madeira today on a hired Yamaha Tracer 700. After that, I'll have another week or so to explore the whole island. Thanks for your delightful videos and commentary!
We loved Madeira, such a beautiful island and kind of off the radar for most of the other motorcycle channels. Enjoy the ride and thanks for the comment.
Beautiful! Exhilarating ride! in 77F sunshine. Agree, additional nooks & cranny parking spaces for motorbikes is needed everywhere. Very grateful for your video shares.😃😃
I feel quite bad for showing so much sun in one video 😉 Shame we only had a week out there, and it's rained most of the day back here in the Midlands now 😭
And I wonder why I'm overweight! Yes, there's an incredible mix of arid areas and lush green tropical ones just in a short motorcycle ride. Certainly beats just sitting on a beach ⛱️
Thanks. It's just a brilliant winter riding destination. It's just a shame that bike hire is so pricey. We've looked at getting our own bikes out there, and it's only cost-effective if you're heading there for a month or more.
@@Banditmanuk yeah £200 a day bike hire does seem a tad extortionate, mind you, a month over there with your own bikes sounds like a very tempting proposition 🤔👍🏻
Apologies for my lateness. Great to see you touring again and to see some sunshine. Almost forgotten what it looks like. I’m not surprised by the affect on the Enfield’s finish. If I leave mine in the garage for a couple of months without covering it in oil the engine casings start furring 😫 I really must treat myself to one of these winter breaks.
No worries, always good to hear from you. The owner of that Enfield wasn't too bothered, and it did kind of added to its patina. He loved it for just plodding around the island. We're kind of hooked on these winter getaways. It's a relaxing mix of beach holiday, walking and a couple of days riding.
Its the first time we've seen the cable car running. We did return back up there on our final day and go up. Quite an experience, if a little expensive. We were super lucky the whole week was light winds no cloud and 25C daily.
Thanks for reminding us of what warm sunshine looks like, looks like a great trip and as ever thanks for taking us with you, already looking forward to your Pyrenees trip, so many different routes to be had there, will be interesting to see which route Carol chooses…they’ve always been great in the past so may well pick up some ideas!
Thanks for the great comment. Yes I'm looking forward to the Pyrenees, I've never been. Carol's certainly worked hard looking for routes, places of interest and she's booked all but one night in different Parador hotels. Fingers crossed it all comes together
There are probably more companies offering bikes there, but I would be more than OK with that Bonnie. :) Great video. You had a very nice and sunny day riding. If I ever decide to visit the island, I should also hire a bike. :) Got my like. Cheers.
You would have a great time. It's nice to combine a relaxing beach holiday and a couple of full on days riding in the mountains. 25C temperature every day, it's a great winter destination and an easy cheapish flight from cold northern Europe
Your video was a wonderful surprise when I got up this morning. I don't think I have ever rode in such an environment but I can see why it is so appealing especially in the winter time. Great job of editing and the steep part looked a bit daunting on film which means it was a lot more difficult in reality.
It's quite unlike anything in England when you ride through the volcanic lava fields. Also, it's really nice to be away from the cold and wet conditions at home. That steep, twisty road towards the end was quite extreme. The camera never really shows how steep it was. At least Carol didn't drop the bike when she met the car on a corner.
@flatcapcaferacer I think you would have been fine👍👍 Choosing bikes that can easily be flat footed, made the difference here as even though the road camber sloped, Carol was easily able to hold the bike coming to an unexpected stop.
Another great motorcycle adventure Richard and Carol with great roads and some stunning scenery. Oh the drawbacks of a captive clientele €4 for a bun and €3.50 for pop, a grand total of €15 still at least that was for both of you. I stopped at "The Falls of Docherty Inn" ordered a burger and a bottle of alcohol free beer, £19.95 and what made it worse was the burger had horns and was still mooing 😟😂
Spain and the Spanish Islands are still great value for money (usually). That cafe must be one of the highest altitudes ones in Spain. Now I can clearly remember having the misfortune to go into the Falls of Docherty Inn (we were staying just up the road). Honestly, the worst service, worst food ever! Such a brilliant location right by the falls, such a shame
Yet another cracking video. The views and commentary were superb and you were blessed with fantastic weather. Fair play to you both for tackling those narrow, steep inclines😮. I could well imagine the bum ache on that Bonnie.....maybe hiring a pair of quads would have been preferable😂 (joking of course). Anyway, thanks again and I look forward to your next install.
Thanks David. My heart sank after all those quads past us doing about 20mph! That steep narrow road towards the end was definitely a challenge. Thanks for watching, hopefully one more episode from the opposite end of the island
Thanks for sharing motorcycles and warm sunshine guys. My goodness that hill was steep, if it looked steep on Camara it must of been a vertical climb, well done Carol great riding.
Yes, that hill was incredibly steep. Carol had a moment but held it together. I think when you see the houses built along it, you better get a sense of gradient
Your really good at putting these vids together, always engaging and not too much riding with no sound... Onto part 2, lovely place. Those bonnes have lovely power. An Mt10 owner moaning about tank range on a bonne 😂😂they do drink a bit, the t100 is much better on fuel.
Appreciate the kind words. We try to not bore people with too much riding footage. I suppose I can forgive the bonnie for lack of range hauling my huge body around. I do get the irony when judged against my MT10
Well I'm sat here feeling really jealous now😢 Looks a great place to ride, we only did it in a car. That was a steep old road with the tight bends . Very well tackled guys 👏👏 2 wheeled Willie has got a T120 black, it's rusting like a pig apparently 🤷♂️ Thirsty bikes by the sounds of it too
Think that hill had Carol worried at times! I'm surprised hearing the T120 is rusting so bad. No rust on Carol's 8 year old Street Triple but she doesn't ride it much in the winter, and I do clean and look after it. This T120 is thirsty because it's hauling a 6ft 3" gorilla around 🫣
I guess fuel anxiety is not limited to an MT-10 😆 Is 25'C 'normal' for Tenerife at this time of year these days? Back in the '90's the forecast rarely got over 20' if memory serves. Nice video of what looked like a lovely day out on the bikes.👍
Ha ha yes I got a bit anxious about fuel. Turned out I had 2.5L left at fill up. It has got to haul my enormous bulk around so it probably didn't do too bad. We had a consistent 25c daily. Last week in Jan. Still on the verge of too hot for us but perfect in the mountains. Perhaps there's something in this global warming 🤔 Definitely too hot over there in our summer
Viva España Guys el pais para las motos sin duda !😉well that made me feel much better sunshine nice roads what more could you want ? well to be there🤢ooooooh you lucky pair 🤣cheers 👌👍
Hi Both, Fantastic content what a great video, well done. Now I could say I am not jealous but that would be a complete and utter lie. This is something I would love to try. I am shocked at the price of bike hire compared to a car, I hate driving so would want the bike for a week.
Unfortunately, unless you go for a scooter, you're looking at £100 ish or more per day per bike. And the security deposit & fuel. It's not that cheap. Now you know why I bought a T120 Richard 😂 lovely to see you both on the island again. Miss the sun ☀️

You certainly know what a great engine is in that T120. Just perfect around that island 🏝 Thanks for watching and for your support. Cheers
Pastries, Salsa and ice cream... All the right ingredients
Amazing how much a change in altitude (and oxygen levels) affects the habitats 👍

Love the reassuring words to Carol on the steep bend 👏
Yes, I'm not sure "DONT PANIC!" was that reassuring to me! 😂
I'm not that good at 'reassuring' but she did good, didn't drop it. Those corners were seriously steep

T120 is a great bike. I'd pick that bike over the monster, every day of the week!
nice video with great scenery as always
You're right of course but the compact little Monster suited Carol. Small and light.
Great video, takes me from away the views of rain outside. The cable car is quite often out of action due to wind. You picked a lovely day!
