    Your series on Madeira has inspired me! I am making a circuit of Madeira today on a hired Yamaha Tracer 700. After that, I'll have another week or so to explore the whole island. Thanks for your delightful videos and commentary!

    I’m not surprised by the affect on the Enfield’s finish. If I leave mine in the garage for a couple of months without covering it in oil the engine casings start furring 😫
    I really must treat myself to one of these winter breaks.

    Your video was a wonderful surprise when I got up this morning. I don't think I have ever rode in such an environment but I can see why it is so appealing especially in the winter time.
    Great job of editing and the steep part looked a bit daunting on film which means it was a lot more difficult in reality.

    • @Banditmanuk

      It's quite unlike anything in England when you ride through the volcanic lava fields. Also, it's really nice to be away from the cold and wet conditions at home.
      That steep, twisty road towards the end was quite extreme. The camera never really shows how steep it was. At least Carol didn't drop the bike when she met the car on a corner.

    Another great motorcycle adventure Richard and Carol with great roads and some stunning scenery. Oh the drawbacks of a captive clientele €4 for a bun and €3.50 for pop, a grand total of €15 still at least that was for both of you. I stopped at "The Falls of Docherty Inn" ordered a burger and a bottle of alcohol free beer, £19.95 and what made it worse was the burger had horns and was still mooing 😟😂

      Unfortunately, unless you go for a scooter, you're looking at £100 ish or more per day per bike. And the security deposit & fuel. It's not that cheap. It's why we went for a cheaper but still nice hotel.

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  7 месяцев назад +1

      Many hire companies do supply all the gear but we took our own.
      1) we wanted our own helmets with the camera, coms and microphone which we packed in our main big case padded out with clothes.
      2) We wanted our kevlar jeans and riding kit as we're not small people and often hire companies don't stock our sizes.
      3) we both wore our riding boots on the airplane as they look like casual boots.
