There seems to have been a shift when it comes to Pokemon Card Collecting over the past few months. For the longest time after the Scarlet and Violet Generation of Pokemon Cards releases, people continued their search for Sealed Products and Singles from the Sword and Shield Generation. With the inability to relate well to new Pokemon and potentially, the easier Pokemon Card Pull Rates, it seemed like interest continued to rise for Alternate Art Pokemon Cards from the Sword and Shield Generation.
However, a lot has changed over the past couple of months. With Pokemon news announcing the release of a Team Rocket set and a Trainer Pokemon Set, many Pokemon Card fans have circled back to collecting the Scarlet and Violet Generation and sales are starting to slow on many products from Sword and Shield. With the lower amount of transactions on the Sword & Shield Generation, does this mean that Alternate Art Pokemon Cards have finally leveled off and bottomed out? Let's talk about it!

My situation changed. A very avid vintage collector and simply the ones I like. For personal reasons. Not for money or value. I bought a home and that ultimately has halted my collection efforts. Improving my home has taken priority.
In the middle of building a home and yea I haven’t bought much lately either.
@Gengar558 congrats on that man! We got a dream house layout and it's a house from the 70's but the sellers put a new roof, furnace, vinyl wood flooring, and upgraded all the electrical in the house. We just need to put our touch on it. We're grateful. Adjusting to a diff spending habit. Once it's done then I'm buying myself something real special, haha! Cheers 🍻

I have loved the moonbreon since i first laid eyes on it and held out hoping it would get cheaper but never did i have pulled everything else in the set even 2 raquaza vmax and raquaza v alt arts.....😢 i want that card so bad it hurts

My dream card is Moonbreon PSA GEM MT 10. the first time I saw that card I knew I had to have it. I collect because of the love of pokemon art. The Moonbreon speaks to me. I just know that time is not on my side to acquiring it.
I started getting into Pokemon cards about 6 days ago. Yesterday I went to a Walmart and got a pink loveball pokeball tin that had 3 random boosters inside and one of those was an evolving skies pack with a moonbreon in it; that thing... In a $20 tin...
spent 185 on my leafeon vmax 10 back in november & 315 for my blaziken 10. Before all the hype
I just pulled the Alt art Umbreon Vmax last month from a Walmart mini tin, my 2nd tin I got Arceus V alt art.. Galar Pals finally paid off!
17,000 Umbreon VMAX cards have been graded so far. That's a lot!
Great content as always. It’s kind of scary that the moonbreon is going up again and I wonder if it will recite the sword and shield craze. I will say this I think the reason why PSA eight and PSA nines are close to the raw copy price if not significantly less maybe it’s identified as the chance to get the 10 is no longer present.

Pull rates for me down now I collect only one or two sealed products per released. One day I might go crazy and rip them all

I was going to pull the trigger on the alt art lugia PSA 10 around $350 on ebay. Do you guys (anyone in comments) think its leveled off or would continue to drop? I'm not buying to invest or make money just want a PSA 10 for my PC

Danny maybe you should leave out the cents when dealing with high-value cards and just read out “149 dollars” it’s a lot of numbers to take in and it would be easier to consume when I’m just listening. Or you could say around $149 👍 thanks

I’d never buy a moonbreon. The population of PSA 10s is way too high for that price, it doesn’t make any sense.

@@BRIANCARRUTHERS I disagree, there’s the Rainbow Charizard from Burning shadows (150/147) that has a population of 820 PSA 10s and it’s going for $2600 ++ at the moment.
If you apply the supply to price ratio that moonbreon has, it could reach $20,000+
But because the moonbreon has so much hype at the moment, it’s sky rocketing. But there will be a crash for sure.
The rainbow charizard card is mid in terms of design and art compared to moonbreon
@@andrewdiller2045 I mean… very subjective. Moonbreon is the farthest thing from “the coolest art in Pokémon history”
It is very cool, it definitely is way more interesting than the Charizard. But the Burning shadow set was done in such a bad quality with printing that it’s become nearly impossible to get a PSA 10 rainbow charizard gx.
I’m talking investment wise, moonbreon doesn’t have any where else to grow, may reach double in the EXTREME situation.
Where as the rainbow Charizard gx… that is going to 10X

Thanks Danny to compare all the big alt arts throughout SWSH. It makes it clear to me that price wise I'm perfectly fine to buy PSA 9 copies compared to their raw price. Saves alot of shipping/grading cost and time. For sure when you risk it for the PSA 10 biscuit and end up a 9 or lower.
