What a fucking game this was. The main story mode, amazing, spec ops, great fun, multiplayer the best theres been in my view. Not too many over the top perks, but still enough to kick ass. loads of unockables and cammos... Good memories and great maps, endless replayability
Flying around, wall running/jumping takes more skill to shoot from those position's and to shoot at people doing those moves. Of course because you're probably worse at COD's based in the future, you'd dislike them and, "Have enough" of them. The COD series really put their eyes more on multiplayer in recent years.
I can relate to that. Today i just went back and replayed every special ops mission and the campaign. I finally got every trophy there is. I miss Modern Warfare 2
Arjun Srivastava aw same man i'm 2 achievements off i still can't complete that special ops mission on veteran on the oil rig haha, tried it yesterday and was killed by a grenade just before that last breaching room, also i finally completed the mile high club achievement a few days ago on cod 4 and i felt like a god haha
It was, best moments created, best multiplayer experiences, best laughs I've had, best Trickshots, best 1v1s best overall, except Campaign, FUCK SHEPHERD, BF3 has the best campaign ever created
Idk.... CoD4 was absolutly beautiful and modern for it's time. It's just these 2. Mw2 and MW1 witch one wins? None... Because they make each other. A great set of games that gave me fun for 10+ years. I hope i can/will play them when i'm 40-50 years old. Such memories. So fun, so tense. Just perfect as far tech went back then.
ElProPlus I don’t know if it’s the nostalgia speaking but it might be the best game. I’ve never played anything longer, as consistently, or as enjoyably. The campaign and spec ops co op included. Best soundtrack for sure. I felt like everything was so unbalanced that one person could turn a whole game around so you even had fun loading into a losing game.
It's 2016 and people still don't realize Hans Zimmer only composed the main theme (i.e. ONE TRACK). Everything else was composed by Lorne Balfe (same dude behind Assassin's Creed III). Give the credit where it's due, people.
Was it really ? Because alot of the music in this (like the Rangers theme) sounds like the joker's theme from the dark Knight (so do other tracks from this game and those movies )
I'm 24 now, played this game when I was 12, I remember being soooo attached and invested to the story line, I broke down crying my eyes out in mission 16 Loose Ends when Roach and Ghost were killed. The hatred I had (and still have) for Shepherd was unlike anything else in a video game ever. This soundtrack brings soooo many memories, what a time to be a kid, miss those days dearly.

The Nostalgia. I cried a little bit after listening to this, for a moment I was seriously able to close my eyes and pretend its 2010 again. Im hopping on Cod after a school day, my brother and his best friend are joining the party. My other friends join up and we play for hours.
Perfect Campaign with brilliant soundtrack. Awesome game. Good old '09 times. My favorite track from MW2's OST so far is "Whiskey Hotel - Green Flares" @ 2:14:05
Aidan Chea WaW came after MW2, I believe. I remember my best friend came over to my house for a sleepover, and he had MW2 w/ him, but he called his dad and asked if he could pick up the game(WaW). thats wat I remember!
Lorne Balfe, Hans Zimmer, and however many other people actually invested time into a 3 hour long soundtrack for a video game back in 2009. Absolute madmen.
@@folk_. I think the majority of Crysis 2 tracks were made by Borislav Slavov and Tilman Sillescu but the result is great nontheless. However, I never find myself listening to Crysis 2 like I listen to MW2.
@@Domasiukas OHH, yeah I forgot Tilman and Borislav did mostly a big part of the soundtrack. Crysis 2 does have a nice score, Even though it changes drastically it's theme compared to MODERN WARFARE 2, no doubt it's still enjoyable.
best video game I've ever played. And I have over 100 games on steam, 50 games on disc, + several mmos including WoW. Original great content, and will be missed.
I remember playing this campaign. It felt like I was actually in the game, I was so immersed. The ending of the game felt so real. When Price was making his speech about the history of warfare, I felt like he was right next to me.
Damn... This kills me so much. Nobody understands how badly I wanna go back in time :/ this is the GOAT. No Call of Duty gives me the feels and chills like this one.
I'm 12, and I beat this game a few months ago. When i first heard "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" during the war on the city, i was like "oh so THAT'S why people have such an emotional attachment to this game" i really like the atmosphere they have going on during the later levels
@@m-i-x-a-m-e6063 yeah I enjoyed the campaign very much, when I finished it I went to multiplayer and only found cheaters and people who played since release
@@TheONLYFeli0 Yeah must be tough jumping into a multiplayer mode knowing your enemies know the map, and the spawn points and choke points like it was their own personal neighbourhood by now... Still this is the ONLY cod multiplayer where , given enough time i can actually hold my own on free-for-all, and even win every now and then.
This game was the height of the series. Top quality voice acting from experienced actors, the story was engaging and kept you on the edge of your seat, the OST by Zimmer. And the multiplayer was just CoD4 on steroids. B Ops just seems to be more popular because 'zerrmbeeez'. The games have no taste.
+DS3 Same here. for a story to be good it needs to be different. zombies on my case is like to much running round, me and my family like to camp in zombies but we cant as such.
+botany boys A quick Wikipedia search revealed that what he said is indeed true. I even went as far as listening some of Balfe's other work(Assassins Creed 3) and the similarities were clear.
I love how vivid memories can become when accompanied by music. I can still feel how tense it was running through the favela checking every corner for militia. The heartstring being pulled when Washington DC was getting torn apart. The betrayal with ghosts death. The heart stopping snow mobile chase. This game was one of the best entertainment experiences ever with campaign multiplayer and spec ops.
This makes me smile all them memories of staying up late at night just to finish the game while also feeling absolutely destroyed about ghost and roach. We love this game.
My parents were extremely strict with video games and I never got a chance to play a real cod game only codm and honestly makes me sad hopefully I get a used console on my birthday and play mw2 it will be a dream come true
@@MrAqu88 But only the campaign. And I love the campaign but paying 30$ only for a 3 hour story that I known every single detail I think is not worth it.
My favorite is The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend. I love how the soundtrack progressively built up more and more. I initially discovered it while playing the mission of the same name, and I really took notice, it made the mission so epic.
I feel like Contingency 1:47:08 is really underrated here... I feel like it was composed so perfectly for the mission, the intensity of sneaking around loads of guards inside snow but with small amount of cover and dogs sniffing the area around with this playing is so strong.
I just fckin love so much the "Makarov's Safehouse" to "Loose Ends" suite (2:21:52 to 2:35:12). It's beautiful and incredible. Whiskey Hotel also is one of the greatest songs here, mainly because of that awesome mission that it was.
Jesus...I remember Being a kid and going to my friend to play this game on PS3...We would sit there and play ot for hours...Sometimes it glitched and we would die from laughter (almost). Ahhh...I remember playing a mission on spec-ops where you needed to sneak and place C4 on airplanes in a tundra base. When I was playing i ran into an npc that even if I standed it it's face, it didn't do anything...Like i wasn't there..The good ol' times...
Modern Warfare 2. The game where we made friendships that continue to this day. Where we were actually emotionally attached to the characters and the game pulled our heart strings. It was truly a work of art.
There are soooo many spots in here that are nothing less then f**king amazing and i will never forget them. I've never seen a soundtrack of a game with THAT many outstanding pieces: 0:43 Opening Titles 7:02 Retreat and Reveille 21:09 Safeguard 1:16:03 Onwards 1:36:38 D.C. Burning (not in Album Score) 1:44:35 Evacuation (not in Album Score) 1:59:08 Contingency 2:14:04 Whiskey Hotel (not in Album Score) 2:19:26 Extraction Point 2:33:49 Coup de Grace 2:39:30 Code of Conduct 2:55:50 Going Loud (not in Album Score) 2:57:48 Protocol The real Modern Warfare 2 will never be surpassed!
Listening to this 10 years later, still puts a smile on my face. Edit: 3:02:21 I’ve probably heard this a million times and I still love it to this day
@The Life Analyst I'm talking about modern warfare anyway, it's the only type of cod games that's good (for me) the rest of the games suck, pure futuristic crap, except for ghosts or BO that i only like the 1 and 2
probably 1 of the greates soundtracks for a game ever, every tune hits the spot in the right way, and the betrayals tune ahhh hits hard man lol, best game ever

***** ok look you asked for innovation and new stuff and now we got advanced warfare and bo3. personally i would love another "bland recycled set pieces and all linear story" game.
XuticX Funny thing is the movement isn't really innovative at all. Maybe for the CoD franchise yes, but tbh I like Titanfall's movement better. I would still be playing Titanfall if not for the smart pistol- it is developed by the same brilliant minds behind cod 1, 2, 4 and mw2 after all.

I hope COD goes back to modern/past themed games. After 3 years of flying around and shooting lasers I've had about enough.
Flying around, wall running/jumping takes more skill to shoot from those position's and to shoot at people doing those moves. Of course because you're probably worse at COD's based in the future, you'd dislike them and, "Have enough" of them. The COD series really put their eyes more on multiplayer in recent years.
Or he just doesn't like flying around and shooting lasers. You can be good at something and still dislike it.
I feel nostalgic right now. Modern Warfare 2 BEST GAME EVER
i was playing the mw2 campaign yesterday and it is actually so good, i used to play that game 24/7
Lol yeah that one was so damn hard. Modern Warfare 2 may not have been perfect, but man I had the best memories of the singleplayer and multiplayer.
Arjun Srivastava same here haha, well it was nice reminiscing about mw2 with you
I honestly feel like this was the best CoD game EVER.
true
It was, best moments created, best multiplayer experiences, best laughs I've had, best Trickshots, best 1v1s best overall, except Campaign, FUCK SHEPHERD, BF3 has the best campaign ever created
Always the best COD.
I don't F get why this game has so low ratings on metacritic

ElProPlus I don’t know if it’s the nostalgia speaking but it might be the best game. I’ve never played anything longer, as consistently, or as enjoyably. The campaign and spec ops co op included. Best soundtrack for sure. I felt like everything was so unbalanced that one person could turn a whole game around so you even had fun loading into a losing game.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
It's 2016 and people still don't realize Hans Zimmer only composed the main theme (i.e. ONE TRACK). Everything else was composed by Lorne Balfe (same dude behind Assassin's Creed III). Give the credit where it's due, people.
duly noted.
Was it really ? Because alot of the music in this (like the Rangers theme) sounds like the joker's theme from the dark Knight (so do other tracks from this game and those movies )
Thanks for the info. They both do amazing scores though.
the main theme was best tho
MaceGaming53 he is the same group as Hans. Pretty sure he asked him if he wanted to help. People know damn well this sounds a lot like Hans Zimmer.

Aidan Chea WaW came after MW2, I believe. I remember my best friend came over to my house for a sleepover, and he had MW2 w/ him, but he called his dad and asked if he could pick up the game(WaW). thats wat I remember!
The Spy149 WaW actually came out the year before MW2. It was CoD4 > WaQ > Mw2
Lorne Balfe, Hans Zimmer, and however many other people actually invested time into a 3 hour long soundtrack for a video game back in 2009. Absolute madmen.

The real Modern Warfare 2 will never be surpassed!
Listening to this 10 years later, still puts a smile on my face.
Edit: 3:02:21 I’ve probably heard this a million times and I still love it to this day
Oooooooh that fucking nostalgia hit 💉😩
So, when are we going to Moscow?

Come by every once and a while for this epic shit
@The Life Analyst I'm talking about modern warfare anyway, it's the only type of cod games that's good (for me) the rest of the games suck, pure futuristic crap, except for ghosts or BO that i only like the 1 and 2
Still playing this game from 2010's.
+Сергей Мисникас yes
Hhahah the video in 2013
Yeah, BO2 is the last decent game and MW3 is the last good game of the series.
Still playing it in 2019
@@CloroxBleach-um4gn whats your name ??
probably 1 of the greates soundtracks for a game ever, every tune hits the spot in the right way, and the betrayals tune ahhh hits hard man lol, best game ever
BEST.COD.EVER
Hurts to think that we will never have another good Call of Duty game ever again. Will still have great memories of MW2

The Marines aren't in this game...
My perspective of experience of the game was slow, relaxed, nostalgic, and a unique game (one of my favourites along with Black Ops 2).
The music of this game made me feel like I was in an epic action film the entire time, didn't matter if I played well or not, I felt the epicness at every step of the ride.
Hans Zimmer a real G farout the nostalgia is so real
Hans Zimmer only did the opening theme
@@zigzgshodzixhoxohxh3800 It seems Hans Zimmer composed "the main themes" and Lorne Balfe the score
and Lorne Balfe. he made like 95% of this soundtrack

"SARGE, ARE YOU READING THIS??!"
"I KNOW, THATS WHY WE GOT TO GET TO THE ROOF! MOVE!"
actual goosebumps to this day still
Man i bet this wasnt a walk in the park making this, and i bet you were prob trying to make it as high quality and official as possible. So i thank for making this.
This feels like an eternity

1:18:02 I can't verbally explain how good is this
A very epic piece of music, reminds me of Mission Impossible
15, 19, 31, and 39 are my favorites. I love MW2's soundtrack!
Anyone else realize this is the best Call of Duty music there is?
I'm not crying.... oh god...
