Thank you for the breakdown! I moved to Germany under family reunification and got my Aufenhaltstitle about a year ago. I'm still learning about the different levels of Government and their processes. You did a great job making this understandable.

    Fantastic!
Could you also do one on how the Bundestag, Bundesrat, and other officials are chosen? And if the Bundesrat are chosen by state-level officials, could you also include how those officials are chosen?

If anything I didnt only learn about the bureaucracy into passing new laws but just how many confusing terminologies exist for the different government bodies that even the progenitor of the smoothlers have trouble keeping track of 😂
Jokes aside, these videos are highly appreciated as i slowly transition from student to working professional to eventually a citizen here hopefully someday. And you guys nailed it in explanation it in such a way that almost anyone can follow along and understand.
My prediction is this video will probably gain a lot of traction especially amongst those keen on understanding more about the new laws coming into effect.
Looking forward to that video too ❤

Thanks for this video. I am very curious to see how this plays out in practice. Here in Berlin they stopped accepting and processing any applications for citizenship months ago because they are planning a central office for naturalization, instead of the local (district) ones that existed up to now. Hence many people have been waiting more than two years for a decision on their applications (this varies from district to district too). Given the slowness of the Berlin bureaucracy and the hiring freeze that has been in effect, I am not optimistic about how they will handle the onslaught of applications for people who want to retain their other citizenship.

Thanks! 😊 You can make the shift from student to worker by getting a fulltime job. With that you can get permanent residency after 2 years and then fulfill the other requirements for German citizenship from there 😊

if the law does pass. What do they mean when they say you can get the citizenship within 3 years if you show signs of "good integration"? Some are saying high level German skills, what are the requirements to prove that I have good German skills? is something such as a university C1 course certificate enough? I know its quite early but maybe you can reply and/or do a video about this in the future :D
