Looked a little weird to me too how at the end those boys were surprised that it started then. Should have given the boys a few seconds before the race
Jason Parra ran a great race alone with Josh bell. Sticking with that top group and hanging on for the whole race. Definitely not expected to be the top Cali finishers but ran great races
Parra has impressed me since he was a freshman/sophomore. He's never been afraid to run with the best in the country and has progressively become one of them. Notre Dame landed a beast.
This was a great finale for him. Think he may have been injured the beginning of the season or just had a few rough races. He ran real smart and showed lots of bravery here. Bell on the other hand just went beast mode start to finish.
You run the course that exists under the conditions that exist. Doesn't matter what your pedigree has been coming into this day. The ones who won were the best runners on this course on this day.
I've watched the Indianapolis kid all yr & wasn't surprised at how well he preformed. At Midwest NXR he set the course record at Levern Gibson, Terre Haute Indiana. He'll be attending Notre Dame. He's a great young man.
Utah is the future of high school distance running. Jojo Jordan from Olympus placed first, Austin Westfall from Orem took fourth, and of course Herriman and AF went 1 and 2.
Danny Simmons is the best runner in the field but unfortunately got out to a rough start. The messed up course resulted in rough tangents to navigate through whilst passing dozens on top tier runners. Despite all this, he scored 1 point for his team. Anything better would have been about personal accolades only, which was not his priority. Congrats to Jojo and Herriman for their wins.
Are you putting words in his mouth? How does he feel about it? And whose fault is it that he got out to a rough start? I just don't feel like it's appropriate to make excuses on his behalf.
Going out too fast is one of the worst things you can do. You get into anaerobic threshold much faster. My best races in college were always going out at pace and then figuring out when tokick based on how much you have left.
Thanks for the delayed release. Really sad that nike controls the only live coverage, and subscription required. No way to spotlight a fantastic sport!
I ran the Runninglane cross championships with my team on this day, and it was even worse conditions. I was the only one on my team to run within a minute and a half of my fastest time, and it’s supposed to be the fastest course in the US. Every stride you had to rip your foot out of the mud. It hurted.
I’ve had lateral left hip pain for over two months now. I just want to be able to run, jog, anything without pain. I would love to be able to run 30 minute 5k road races the rest of my life with no pain.
I’ve had that before and it’s usually starts with problems in your foot. But another issue I have is a leg length discrepancy. Get yourself checked out
Anyone know what happened to noonan? He still did awesome but I just thought he would be up there with the top guys. He beat Josh bell at state so he should’ve been in there with the top 10. He finna win it next year as a senior tho
sorry I'm late. So, Califorina just had their state meet 1 week prior. Most of these teams had almost a month of rest time to prep for this race, hence most California individuals tend to not preform their best at nxn, for example Sadie. Top leval runner, just exhausted from the state meet. hope this helps!
lol it’s funny until it’s you😂 that’s why I find it so hard to laugh at things like this or when someone trips on the hurdles or something cause that could easily be me😂😂😂
I think a lot of runners weren’t getting registered by that mat for some reason. Bandukwala was said to be in 6th but he was 11.5 seconds back from first, and you could see in the race that there were about 40 or 50 runners within 11 seconds of first, so it must’ve just been an error
Times mean nothing in xc. All that matters is placement because every course is different. You can’t compare times. One week I ran 1 minute faster than I did the previous week purely because it was a super flat course.
What a crappy layout to determine a national championship. Those turns are ridiculously tight under the best of conditions and then with it wet it’s just silly. guys wiping out, grabbing railings, come on man lol
Anyone else think that start was a bit weird the camera guy was still right next to the runners as they were throwing up hand signals
Yup
They do that at all nxn races
Looked a little weird to me too how at the end those boys were surprised that it started then. Should have given the boys a few seconds before the race
Most them were showing the names of their schools or regions on their shirts and most the hand signals were for their schools as well.
The hand signs are embarrassing

Great having him in my league. I had the privilege of racing him in the mile at his school
Yes Parra has been running great his entire high school career.
This was a great finale for him. Think he may have been injured the beginning of the season or just had a few rough races. He ran real smart and showed lots of bravery here. Bell on the other hand just went beast mode start to finish.
Please refer to Jason by his government name - Pookie Bear

That’s like saying the car that crossed the line first was the winner
Wow! That is quite the course and will make the runners so appreciate the track running this spring.
Nice to see Grant Fisher doing those interviews at the end good coverage of this mudbath!
Cooooool and he won a medal for us this Olympics❤❤
Good job Nathan Neil from Bozeman Montana. Tough kid.

Wow that was suriously fun to watch and the runners were incredible, never seenanyulike this. Top 10 are a serious talent
Great event with great competitors. Excellent coverage as well. Congratulations to all.
Proud of the brothas at Herriman. 3 scoring Juniors… watch out next year
the beginning is so hype it makes me wanna run a marathon rn
Camera man kinda did those last few teams dirty at the start 😂😫
Great job Austin Westfall! Amazing race bud
next yr's race will be interesting, and im talking about tommy latham
He’s gonna put on a show in track

1 point? do you know anything about XC?
@@noahmcclellan251he was first team finisher the rest were individuals
@@noahmcclellan251The question is do you know anything about XC🤔
Are you putting words in his mouth? How does he feel about it? And whose fault is it that he got out to a rough start? I just don't feel like it's appropriate to make excuses on his behalf.
How does he know he is the first team runner? Wouldn’t it be tough to tell from where he was? Were there different singlets for team vs individuals?
Takes me back to high school. CC has come a long way in popularity. Its exciting.

I'd be that last guy coming in at 18:57
Ive had to race jojo and danny like 6 times this year 😭 truely himbling
Wow that's cool! And... Humbling 😂🙌💖
Awesome race, such depth
Utah lowkey dominated
16:39 the guy in the back getting dragged 🤣
Prob would have been me in the middle of the race 😂
Parra and Bell came thru !!
16:33 the guy that dropped to the floor was so funny 😂💖 he did so well!!
Utah rocks!!!
Crazy upset race 🔥
Thanks for the early post

I actually ran in this exact race my freshman year!
What golf course agreed to this?
I would all of them! 😍
Josh bell FTW!!!

He fell somewhere at the start, he said on his instagram

Grant Fisher’s interviewing fee had greatly increased after the Olympics
Love him!!!! Whoop whoop
16:33 at least he finished that would have probably been me in the middle of the race lol😂
Yes, it definitely was.
16:33 lol the guy gets pulled away
lol it’s funny until it’s you😂 that’s why I find it so hard to laugh at things like this or when someone trips on the hurdles or something cause that could easily be me😂😂😂
I question the use of petroleum exhaust in a hard race as this. It could affect some runners more than others.
What are some of the runners wearing on their arms?
Not gonna lie I kinda low key had a crush on this guy for a while 👀😂
Huh- when they said Aden Bandukwala was up to 6th place, I did not see him anywhere in the top runners.

Emmanuel Perez would have won that. He’s sitting at around 14:37 for 5k at Woodward.
nah different course so times are slower
conditions are muddy
The pack is very close compared to an average varsity invasional
Am I wrong or was there 4x the amount of runners than usual
WoW!!! Excellent racing!!! Imagine running a 15:22 and that is 4th place (still excellent of course).
Did anybody else see that kid get dragged off the field towards the end
Why don’t y’all post the 2022 race ?
It's available for free at nikecrossnationals.com.
@@runnerspace ik but I think it would be cool if you posted it here
Jojo the 🐐
YEAH JOJO GO JOJO GO BRO 😎 😂
I have the sudden urge to go run
Run Forrest!!
10 seconds slower than foot locker. I will be interesting to see how the kids do at college or early pro.
They ran threw standing water. Lol

I did a 20 seconds sprint today, my fastest pace: 2:40. They ran all the race in this pace😮
Is it just me or is the camera angle a little weird, like the cameraman was running or something🥲🤷♀️
Bahringer Highway
Dude i got jojo in my region 😭
I love that California gets their own team😂 so reduculous the amount of sports dominated over there
FYI, those were individual qualifiers for the California region, the top runners that didn't have qualifying teams. Same with every region.

The race organizers cannot control the rain.
That’s a just xc. If it was super easy then it would take away most the fun. My favorite courses are the ones with hills and mud
great to see so many white runners
If the Kenyans aren't there... It's not running
pretty mid
all i see is toothpicks with legs
😮 jeez
incredible to see only white boys but then all marathons or race is won by black athletes…
Bro why does it matter if they are white or black it should be the most talented there
Why does it matter 😂 also it’s America obviously there’s gonna be more white boys a
Because this is America
Does Cross nationals mean the are all Trans?
