  • Chivhu i a town halfway between Harare and Masvingo. It is very vibrant and beautiful town, however it's narrow streets create a bottleneck along the route. As such a bypass has been built to divert traffic away so as to decongest the town as well as to create better route efficiency.
    Let's take a tour!

The quality of workmanship on the road is very good. The only sad part is that there aren’t many trees in the area due mainly to charcoal burning & there’s need for the trees to be replanted

That’s our biggest problem we don’t think about nature whenever we do projects like this ,I have seen maps of projects like this in the west and they also include planting trees and grass right from the get go.

interesting. my last road trip to south africa was in nov 2019 before covid. the road was in a bad way then. foreign trucks chose different routes as a result. i am using runners these days to bring in items from south africa. usually cheaper than in the zim shops if the same product is available in zim supermarkets.

I passed through the road going to Masvingo. The road is dualized 10km into the Masvingo town. Anyways the main points are that this should have been done long before 2000 and also Chivhu going through Gutu and then toward Masvingo to Mutare Road, it’s literally highway to hell but of course Mr Zim won’t mention of course. Drivers are also another problem on these roads, there are more dangerous than the roads themselves. Those bus drivers Intercape Africa, some of the worst and most dangerous bus drivers I have ever seen.
