Let’s take a look at the Colorations series by the Argentine artist Nicolás García Uriburu (1937-2016), who was also an architect, landscape gardener and ecologist. His work is Land Art, the ephemeral nature of which becomes clear when he colours large bodies of water with fluorescein, a non-polluting substance he calls ‘Uriburu green’. Through this practice, the artist seeks to raise public awareness of environmental issues.
