  • Ever since I saw photos of the Batu Caves, I knew I had to see them one day. So when I was planning my return to Asia, I bought my ticket to Malaysia so I could experience this spectacular site for myself.

If you have time, Mulu National Park in Malaysian Borneo is worth a visit. I visited Niah National Park also, close to Miri and that also was amazing. Amazing caves at both.

Welcome to Malaysia, if you like caves, I suggest you to visit IPOH. Nice cave"S", nice food, nice view. After that, all the way up to Penang state, you can experience different vibe at there.

It's true that traveling 10,000 km is better than reading 10,000 books. Seeing is believing.

Wow! It has changed a lot since we were last there! I think we were there about 4 years ago. And fewer monkeys then before. Also! We really loved Kuala Lumpur who often think about relocating there for an extended stay if not a couple years. Also, they must have rededicated the site as an entire holy site because before we didn't have to take our shoes off.

@@Justin_Leah With your profession as English teacher (my assumption based on your channel), I guess you will not have any problem getting a visa here.

      @Justin_Leah Год назад +2

@@GajahMengaumTheBruce Yes, we think we should be able to get a visa but the ESL EFL market in Malaysia would like people to have a PGCSE for teaching. We could get some work but it wouldn't be the quality of work and remuneration that we're used to.

@@Justin_Leah I see. I am not very familiar about this sector but I see many teachers doing part time job as personal tutors on top of teaching at school. It pays more too.

Your friend winnie doesn't know much about batu caves. Lord murugan is son of shiva. There are other caves there. Eg hanuman monkey god. The staircase was not painted during pandemic. It was painted before thaipusam.

Thanks for the correction. You are correct i didnt know much about Batu Caves 😅 I just googled and learnt about it. the Batu Caves Temple’s makeover is done for its kumbhabhishekam, a Hindu temple cleansing and revamp ritual that is carried every 12 years in order to synergise and revive the energy of the place and its presiding deities. It is done some time Aug 2018 ❤

@Dear Winnie well after lockdown, they sure never clean the place. All vlogs proved it in 2022. Full of rubbish, full of disappointment for tourists. Looks like thaipusam was forcing a big cleanup after all. I was very embarrassed by all those vloggers last year. How can the management and priests pray to God this way. The most critical outrage was from :
      1. Jack Torr
      2. Vlogging a dead house
Others just voiced out softly eg
      1. Atilla and zae
      2. Adventure compitelli

@@keangwooichoo6138 I see. Thanks for pointing that out. When I was there before Thaipusam in 2023, so far I did not notice much littering 😊

@Dear Winnie because when they painted it, they probably ask the foreign workers to paw (include) the cleaning and pay them peanuts.

@Kayla Cosmos happy to hear that. Last year was an absolute disaster as many vloggers highlighted how dirty it was. The committee cleaned it before thaipusam I guess. Maybe they do not have funds to paint and clean it last year.

You can now sample all these same delicious food available in the Urban Hawker, NYC albeit at a fraction of the price without paying a bomb.

Bon appetit. Malaysian food and Singaporean food both share the same culinary traditions and cultural roots. A melting pot of Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine. Sedap. Hao chi. Ho chiak.
