I’ve lived in Eau Claire all my life. It’s sprawling so much the past 10 years. I liked the small town feel it had when I was a kid much more than the urbanized feel it has now. I never had a reason to lock my car doors or my house doors until about 8 years ago. The drug and crime problem that is here now has grown exponentially year after year. It’s still decent compared to other bigger cities, but has outgrown me. I can see myself moving north after my kids are out of school in 5 years. Taxes are another thing that is increasing rapidly to pay for all of the downtown projects that I don’t personally care for or want.
Very affordable compared to other parts of the country. Which is why I love it 🥰
I agree. Property taxes are out of control here. I pay $7000/yr
Thats pretty much anywhere now with a large population comes crime and drugs but compared to milwaukee its liteally paradice
I blame the people who migrated from shitholes like chicago and the twin cities
Moving there soon. We really liked visiting, enjoyed the easy going way of things, beautiful area so decided to retire there. Thanks for informative video. 🍺
Love it, and thank you. Do you have a place to move to when you get here?
Shoot me a text if you don’t already have that lined up! 715-577-8435
I grew up in N MN. Moved to the Eastern Sierras. I have woken up to 56" of snow overnight.800+ inches a year is too much. Eau Claire sounds beautiful. Heading home soon.
Oh wow!! I couldn't imagine that much snow! Thankfully we don't get that much snow here in Eau Claire, WI !!!
Thank you for the informative video. I’m being transferred for work from Nebraska. Gives me some insight
I’m glad it helps! 🙂 We’re you able to find my other videos helpful too?
@@LivingInEauClaireWisconsin I haven’t looked but am now that I have a place secured
I grew up in EC, moved there when I was very little in 1983, moved away after college in 2006. It is a great place to grow up, as well as attending college at UWEC. I lived on water street and it was the time of my life. My parents and two siblings are still there with their families, but the rest of us left for the Twin Cities. I’d love to stay if I could, but it was the jobs, MSP airport, nightlife/diverse activities, and already exiting friends and family network that existed in Minneapolis/St. Paul that led me away. But now that both my wife and I work remotely for 10 years now and raising young kids, we’re considering moving back to WI.
Hey! Shoot me a text if you’re ever in town again! 715-577-8435
Downtown has changed so much for the better in the past few years :)
And would love to have you back in Eau Claire!
My husband and I are moving to Eau Claire August 2023! We are orginally from the Milwaukee area and I went to college at UWEC 10 years ago. I'm SO curious to see how its changed since then- it really looks so different than I remember. We would love help getting connected back into the community scene! Thank you so much for this video. 😊
That’s so excited!
You’re going to be mind blown 🤯 with the changes to downtown!
I just recorded a video of downtown eau claire that should be live in a few weeks.
Shoot me a text! Would love to help you find a home around here 😃

Let us know how the move went. I haven't been there in 10 years
It's too expensive now
I am born and raised in Texas primarily Houston and San Antonio but after my trip to Milwaukee and Green Bay I have the itch to go back to Wisconsin
Awesome! I’ve been to San Antonio and Houston! And Austin ⭐️
Cool places!
Come to WI and hit me up when you move here! 715-577-8435
Is this town good in helping low income families? I am interested in moving down there from Minnesota but like to know if this town would be a good fit for me?
I lived in eau claire for 4 years from Jan 1983 until April 1987 when the oxbow hotel was the green tree and lived most of that time on n. dewey st. at 318 when it used to be that old big house on the hill which is now a nice apartment building. now alot in eau claire is better now than when I was there. one of the funny thing is the green tree has been said now to be run down and a dive which they are right. alot of memories from eau claire are bad but that was not eau claire`s fault it was my own
Hopefully you come back!! It's a great place!
There is a chance that i will move to eau Claire. I have a question regarding cars - is it ok to drive fwd car there all year round or AWD suv is more preferable?
I've driven both. I'd rather drive an AWD vehicle like I do now. BUT I drove a front wheel car for about 4 years and did fine :)
Heyo, anything to say about west riverside neighborhood?
Hey Spencer give me a shout! 715-577-8435 I just saw your message
Born in eau claire 1970 moved away 1988 now im back in 2023. So much has changed I hardly recognize it.
Even in the last 10 years it’s changed sooo much! ☺️
I'd love to live here but no one I've talk to takes me seriously. I want to find a 2bedroom apartment and maybe buy a home in the future. I'm relocating from NC. Been living in NC for 13 years and been paying about the same in rent as many of the apartments I've seen in Eau Claire online.
Did you see my video about finding a rental property??
The number one thing i hate about EC is that everyone keeps moving here and now i cant afford a house lol
There is some smaller rural areas around Eau Claire with more affordable housing.
Chippewa Falls right next door has some cheaper places to live.
@LivingInEauClaireWisconsin I live here, the housing prices are not different, honestly it's more expensive to live in Altoona or Seymour and you can't even live in places like Cornell or Stanley which are almost an hour away because the housing prices are just as high there now too.
It used to be livable but now rent prices have gotten so high that it’s dosent seem too livable anymore
Yes prices have been going up for sure. Thankfully more apartments have been goi g up to hopefully help out the problem with supply vs demand.
Eau Claire is such a beautiful city. Until this guy in the video sold our house we enjoyed it very much and miss it!
Haha! I hope you’re loving your life on the road!!! Can’t wait to watch where you guys go!
EC is the most Radiator Springs city ever
Is this a Cars reference? Haha
Any upscale restaurants?
Yes there are a few great places!
1) The Informalist
2) Livery
2) Hooligans steak & seafood
4) Stella Blues
5) Johnny’s Steakhouse
Here are a few amazing upscale restaurants.
If you go to the livery make sure to check out the upstairs game room :)
Have you been to Eau Claire before?
Mona Lisa’s
Imagine someone born & raised in a tropical asian country, suddenly moves to Eau Claire Wi with all its snow & cold weather. Haha.
HAHA I really couldn’t imagine that😂
Are you thinking about moving to the frozen tundra? ❄️
CVTC gives a steady supply of workers. UWEC gives a steady supply of liberals.
I've applied to cvtc. Hope not to regret. 😂
I went to both schools and their both reputable places locally and a huge boost and support to the growth of Eau Claire!
You won't regret it!! Very good place.
@@LivingInEauClaireWisconsin us denied my visa. :)
Do black people live here is it racist I want to move to a cheaper place
I think eau claire is an open community :)
