I recently test drove a 2016 Explorer XLT. It has just over 100k miles. Clean Carfax. It looks and drove great. My question is, what is or what has been the number one customer complaint with this model year Explorer? I was told, with those miles, be prepared to replace the waterpump soon if it hasn't already been replaced. If it's been replaced, it was done at a non-Carfax repair shop.
Mine is on it's way to me, i cannot wait! I've heard some issues about shorter people in this car.. I am 5' 4" and currently drive a 2010 Mercury Mariner and function fine with that. Thanks for this video!

I know this is an old video, but the kick to open trunk is a stand alone option. I have an XLT and mine does not have this option. Just an FYI.

Yes it is, it can seat 7 passengers
I’m about to buy one and we are a family of 6. 2 adults, 4 children. It’s third row seating but also the luxuries I’m looking for.
I have the 2016 XLT and I don't have the kick to open the lift gate feature.

I was thinking of buying one for my family but I looked up the reviews and the reliability rating and doesn’t looks so good.. now Idk if I should buy it.
If it helps I have a friend who works on engines and builds them, he hasn’t heard anything bad, most consumer rating don’t fully look at how an engine is built
The previous generation explorer was 2001-2010 with a facelift in 2006.
I am planning to buy ford explorer 2016, but I have a serious concern ( the exhaust leak in the cabin with high rpm and AC is on ) which was appears in the models from 2011 to 2016 and Ford did nothing about it.
I have many fired trade thier explorer because of this issue. The exhaust gas is carbon monoxide and it is very dangerous!!!!
Is this issue resolved in 2016 models ?! Any one can tell us?!!
This is very important to take a decision to buy or not?!

Need to check that, best way to find all info, as low on coolant not one place cared ad now battery seems made less than. Proud of. And who thought putting speakers where nature..rain can ruin speakets if want air flow window crack, rain guards should be placed on. Trunk opens randomly. More issues than not!
Do the features like remote start, tow package, My TouchFord, and kick liftgate come standard with the XLT trim?

Great review Mike, if you haven't yet recorded your review of the Sport could you show the fog lamps turned on like you did with the XLT. I noticed the lamps were yellow lighting and I am wondering if the Sport has LED fog lamps or if it is the same yellow tinge to it. Also if you could mention the dash board texture like you did with the doors in this video. In any event I look forward to the Sport review. Thanks!

I have a 16 XLT, LED fog lamps are a $150 option and WELL worth it. They match the headlights, and like the headlights, they are super bright
Will the sync 3 be available for the 2016 Ford Explorer some time soon because I've heard a lot of great things about it and my friend has it on his Ford Escape.
Too much car for me, but I like it. I never seen a trailer hitch cover like that before, that was a good idea. The face lift makes it a little more fancy. Good detailed review again:)

2016 new explorer have change the center console to real buttons but, why this one have different style? in my opinion looks better.
+RONNY FENG This is an XLT trim level, maybe you are comparing to a Limited or Sport trim with the Sony stereo system, they look different..

Hey bro like the review on this and the limited you did. I'm ordering one from overseas here in Germany soon and I'd like to know about the premium sound. Obviously the Sony 12 speaker premium sound is great but I'd like to know it'd the XLT's 9 speaker premium sound is great as well and is it Sony? Tried fining it on Ford's website but can't find anything on it!
Thank you! The Sony system is a 12 speaker 390 watts strong system and it is great, the premium sound system is 210 watts and not Sony

I drove a 2013 a while back. There was nothing special about it. The exterior of the Explorer looks like a Range Rover but it drives nothing like one. It feels much bigger behind the wheel than it looks on the outside, mostly because the windshield is narrow and far away from the driver making it feel like you're sitting in some big cave. IMO these things are overrated. I'm not sure about the refreshed version but the previous one was a very popular car, even though it had the shitty MyFordTouch that was laggy and impossible to navigate, along with the annoying touch sensitive buttons. The interior ergonomics were just poorly executed and there was nothing about the driving experience that stood out to me. The steering was dull, loose, and numb, acceleration was SLOW, and the car was skittish around any type of corner. It basically drove like a minivan, only bigger, heavier, taller, and twice as expensive. Not worth it.
Thinking of hiring one of these great looking car ,does it come with navigation as standard

We have the loaded Sports trim. It's aaaamazing. =)
the middle control panel looks like it got downgraded, the previous version looks better and overall it's almost the same as the 2015, just a bit of change on the exterior and interior. But functionality wise its all the same. I just hope the navigation is not lock in the USA only.

My 2015 Durango is so much nicer.
Durango cost more and is much bigger. this car is one trim higher then base, so I'd assume you're Durango is nicer.
