This is a really good way of maintaining your lines. I do it with all my reels/ spools when the season is ended. And the result? I have fly lines that are five years old and being used often, but still feels like new. I do the entire line, beacause it reduces memory and you won't get tangles (easily) during practical fishing.

For stage 3 would you recommend doing the whole line?
