I think they've got a crap air fryer. Jordan is right. They're not all the same. I love mine, my sister in law's is fine. But my Dad's is terrible, hard to understand and use.
They spend all their money on the most expensive series they can't afford a real air fryer
To be fair, that's pretty much exactly what Josh said would happen in the intro, I'm not sure what else you expected.

There's a fast food restaurant in Russia called "Borscht in a bun". Basically they make soup like you normally would, but then they take the solids, like the meat and veggies and stuff, and bake them into a handheld pie, and you get the pie and then a cup of the broth to chase it with. Pretty clever idea for a soup-adjacent experience on the go.

I need Lucas to come by at least twice an episode from now on an just throw some comments down. Unironically one of the funniest men alive without even trying.
When they started talking about there being no moisture I yelled "oil isn't moisture" then josh started yelling it immediately after me and I felt very vindicated.
Well the definition of moisture is: water or other liquid diffused in a small quantity as vapor, within a solid, or condensed on a surface.
And oil is in a liquid state and can become a vapor.
So you’d be wrong, oil can be moisture as all liquids can be. A liquid Can only be a liquid if it’s able to freeze and evaporate. While you need to go through a different process to freeze oil, supercooling still manages to freeze it.
@@Crying2Death 100% and in the context of those gross jiggly fries from the last episode, there was too much oil moisture for them to have a chance at getting crispy. In a deep fryer the oil itself is getting the fries crispy, but in an air fryer the circulating air is what gets the fries crispy. The fries can’t receive the circulating air if they are coated with a thick layer of oil.

@@brendandever8532 You do not make plain fries from scratch without oil on them at all in an airfryer. The fries that come frozen that are put in airfryers are par-fried in oil, so they have oil on them already and are partially cooked. They just needed to cook the fries longer, or boil them first and also know how to use the settings properly. The oil on them should have been fine, I do it all the time. A lot of people talking about airfryers not needing oil at all have only cooked things from frozen meals that already have necessary ingredients in them are are pre or partially cooked already. So of course it comes crispy!
Despite all this mess, Josh is learning to be open to physical touch! He hugged Jordan! That's progress! He's growing aweeee

Look at literally anything Josh or Nicole are doing and try to tell me they made an effort to "correctly" use an Air Fryer. I don't want them to cook normally i want them to cook edible, probably great, food in the most chaotic and nonsensical manner they can muster.

You said you want them to make it their version of Botched by Babish which is Babish actively trying to do the thing he did wrong correctly. What you now described is not at all that. They, mostly Josh but somewhat Nicole, seemed to make an active effort to do even more things wrong for the chaos. If we get more of what we saw here today i'm all in because that is Chaos and Chaos is inherently good. If they try to cook properly in these from now on? Then i'd be bored.
This episode is pure chaos energy and I love it. 😆 Lucas just slowly, menacingly, getting in the way, snacking on things is the best part. Jordan is like the mom who is rethinking her kids' learning to cook because now they're just destroying her kitchen. 😆😆😆

you definitely DO use some oil if you're cooking from raw ingredients in an air fryer. you just don't put it on frozen foods because they already have some oil on them from being fried once before.

He straight up made a second filet, while trying to take the skin "off" 😂
It wasn't hypnotising it was very frustrating! Making me think he has more theoretical knowledge than actual practical knowledge. Skinning a salmon fillet is so simple and a very basic skill.
@@moorenicola6264 yeah I’m not in any way as experienced a cook as him but the way he butchered that simple job is absolutely astounding to me. All you have to do is put the skin down on the cutting board, not leave it upwards, and run your knife along it just above the skin.

3:31 To be fair: I hate the air fryer. The only things that ever came out with a texture and finish I enjoyed were frozen appetizers. The French fries were hard (some call that crunchy), the browning was uneven, and everything comes out dry. Even my oven has an air fryer function, and I never use it, because the outside of whatever becomes extremely hot and dry, with the inside inappropriately heated. I do not like it…but I also do not like fried foods, in general. I have noted over these years that my tastes are radically different from many in the Mythical Universe. I've said this before but i think this is the one you should nominate for an Emmy. Start the campaign now, there's time. Jordan and Lucas should always be popping in and out of frame and commenting on every MK video for eternity, i love them. I would watch HOURS of this, whatever it was. I do feel for you, I've dealt with three different air fryers in my life and i do not know how they operate exactly. But they do toast brioche bread beautifully if you manage not to burn it.

@@BlakKlaa2 Actually if you catch the brand, that is an air fryer. My air fryer is a front loader with racks. It doesn't have a bucket like a "traditional" air fryer, but it works great.
