That’s a good answer! Back then you couldn’t go past a truck em up without someone hollering on ch 19 for smokin dope, shower tickets or sleeper leapers, come on! Then someone was always looking for Cowboy, Outlaw, Ridge Runner, Panty Snatcher, or Rocket Man! Was in the 76 in Okie City, sometime in 1982, some hand plugged up the pot in the men’s room & the water ran out & made it all the way to the gift shop/pay phone area & the poor kid that got stuck cleaning that up wasn’t to thrilled about it. Big Radios & Bird Dogs were out there, Bear reports & Chicken Coop activity was always a constant thing on CH 19. Yea I sure like reminiscing about those days, and from what I hear from a few hands that are still out there, it’s not even close to be like it was, how ‘bout it!

@@kennethhood2168 It may have been me, I had a Pete with a 1693 V8, 15 double over, 3:33 rears. I remember a few autocars, but we were all fast. Honestly, I don't remember everyone that was there, we usually would get people joining in when we made our runs. We would start with 25 or 20 trucks at rubes in Jersey, by the time we got to Shakey we may have 100 trucks all running together.

Spent a couple of weeks there in the summer of 1968 while the Newark riots were going on...tryin' to get a load back to the west coast. Mom wouldn't let Jerry Holbrook in her cafe cause he busted the cooks nose previously. She relented when the rest of the outlaws walked out, got cases of beer and kind of formed an ugly, rock throwing mob. Every night taxi cabs rolled in filled with hookers. What a place!
