I was at this game with my Dad and best friend. We were 11 year old yank military brats and avid Man U fans. Had forgotten just how exciting that game was but I'll never forget the atmosphere of standing on the packed terrace barely able to see the action --nobody left at the half---just rolled up their programs into a funnel and pissed away!
What a brilliant and lovely play! I enjoy each second the play, because there are no polemics, no violence, no politics...only football, and, of course, I agree, what different from today! Football was football because world was world...Salutes from Barcelona.
Can you imagine the reaction with the Don McAllister tackle on Coppell nowdays? There Would be a mass brawl,McCallister would be sent off and banned for 2 or 3 games. When men were men and the game was so much better.
Can you show the time when Osvaldo Adiles an Argentinian player in the 80s playing for Tottenham Hotspur and Ricky Villa those matches final of the FA cup in Wembley Stadium. That matches is classic.
I was a supporter back then.Todays football cannot compare .Game killed by mercenaries con men agents and egos no real men .Stupid pink boots silly hairstyles and so called men conning the ref diving all over the place.Thank God I was around to see the real game.
Sad we have to put up with this nonsense today by a average players on ridiculous money.I am not a Man.Utd fan but we have Ollie saying winning trophies is for egos .Funny I thought it was all about winning trying your best fighting for your club.My club Spurs players are a disgrace to the shirt. How did it come to this?
@@frank.8232 yer I know mate it’s shit ! been to Chelsea a few times a couple of years ago new glory hunting fans of over 50 years old ? If we was shit then most of them would piss off !!! Mickey Fillery came on the pitch once just about got a clap 🤷♂️ how did it come to this ?
We certainly don't want any Scot CH even remotely like Willie Young, today or any other day. He was dire and I still have nightmares about him, as I'm sure does St. Patrick of Jennings. However, Richard Gough was a class act, albeit far too briefly for us.
How did Stevie Coppell get up from that…..😳😳😳😳 Straight RED…but back then… the players didn’t flinch… There would be a riot on the pitch theses days…..

Pat Jennings was the best goalkeeper in the world. super calm
so you keep saying.
Fancy letting him go to the Arse.
Used to go to white Hart Lane a lot as a kid in the 80s, some great games against united the whole decade
Having been born on 17th January 1976 and a Spurs fan since 1981, this is great to watch
History has forgotten and should remember, Don McAllister was absolutely immense

I agree with everything you say except the violence. It was getting really bad by the mid 70s.
Can you imagine the reaction with the Don McAllister tackle on Coppell nowdays? There Would be a mass brawl,McCallister would be sent off and banned for 2 or 3 games. When men were men and the game was so much better.
Jack Taylor OBE - should have gone to spec savers for that penalty call!
Old Jack was a butcher by trade. Maybe he thought Buchan was trying to fillet him!
How you can say that was not a penalty I will never know Tottenham were robbed.🤗🐻👍
Proper football. Wish I was around to watch football at this time rather than now.
COYS!!! Was there, that tackle by McAllister would be a straight red nowaday.
Great game. Fast and tough and played in great spirit with no diving
What a match. End to end. I miss the good old 70’s soccer
this is I want to watch the premier league. The flow of the game is nice to see and watch.
Great watch, thanks.
Great stuff mate!
Superb performance from McAllister
Man of the match from these highlights...and my late father's favourite player.

Going on Pogba's dive last night, McAllister would break him half in the first five minutes of a game

Nice one Frank totally agree football now days served up for the stupid middle class with money to burn.
Glad I was around to.

Cracking game!
Don McAllister mom! Johnny Duncan was a classy front man.
That's exactly what Spurs need today , a no nonsense , aerial ball winner , Scottish CH like Willie Young or Richard Gough .

Brilliant 👍 today's football not a match for this
I fckin love the tackles that the 70’s team put in , proper footie with no prima donnas 😉
wow great find
@@duckjive1 not on facebook myself bud but if you ask enough someone will help

United saved and Spurs duded by a ref, somethings never change.
23:44 how was that not a pen? and what about Willie Young? he was Uniteds best forward in the 2nd half. 😂
@r que Sad.
The ref was the great Jack Taylor from Wolverhampton!!! ⚽⚽⚽
Should have sent him to Coventry for not giving that penalty 😂
Max Wall starring for Spurs!
How did Stevie Coppell get up from that…..😳😳😳😳

Willie Young? Did we get him from, Arsenal or did we sell him to them, in this game he was poor some of those back passes?
@@duckjive1 Cheers I can remember him playing for the arsenal
signed from Aberdeen
Sold him to afc
When men were men and sheep were terrified..
I was at the game it was tough rough but players didn't moaning remember in those days only 1 sub not like today's prima Donna's
7:48 Health & Safety - 70s style!

Why didn't his team mates not tell Ralph Coates to shave his head?
Fuck me Duncan was scythed down!!
Ralph Coates - worst comb over in football
be fair Ralph Coates was 56 when he played in this match(just like boxers Ralph always lied about his age)

Oh yes, I can see it now that you mention it. 🤔As with Bobby Charlton, his skilful combwork certainly had me well and truly fooled at the time!
