    Questioning is the key, but through my journey it becomes clear to me that as i know more I realize how much more I don’t know, and I learned to live in peace with that understanding- that our capabilities of knowledge are very limited- each person to his/ hers personal level. And that’s where spirituality and faith fill in the gaps.

I knew something was missing but it took me a while to find it. The journey never ends, if you are lucky and determined. The emphasis on personal growth is so unique to Orthodoxy, but missed by so many people not on this journey. But staying at the same level of inspiration individually and as a family is a challenge. May you always be as happy as you are now!

    Thank you for addressing the ones who, with possible good intentions, feel the need to "save you/us" in the comments section. Not only is it disrespectful to you and your channel, it's also distracting for those of us who are viewing because perhaps we have a similar background and similar questions that you had leading you to where you are now. You did this so eloquently and respectfully 👌
    I was raised Christian and stayed true to those beliefs firmly up until about 2ish years ago. My husband was hesitant to discuss with me his doubts about the NT and his desire to embrace Torah. I reassured him discussion would be safe, and now we're mostly on the same page, however I'm developing a strong interest in the Jewish people and faith and doubting this strange messianic view we were led to while trying to connect with other non-jewish Torah observers. Can you share (or point me in the direction of one of your videos) about who you linked up with in the Jewish community when you were learning, and how you found them?

    I think this is one of your best videos! Y’all are getting so good in front of the camera! (I mean that as encouragement, you’ve been good from the beginning, but it’s becoming more natural.) As a viewer, I benefit from you giving specific examples. I know you may not want to get very personal. But today was good when you gave examples of the questions you asked yourself. Like, don’t just say, “we asked questions about our faith.” Viewers are interested in WHAT questions you asked- like you did today. Yeah, we’re nosy! 😂😂😂 But it does help to feel that human connection with you, even if it’s through video. Hope that makes sense! Looking forward to more of your journey!

    Growing up I always wondered why Jews don’t preach their beliefs to everyone like Muslims and Christians do. Not only They dont force you to convert but would even warn you not to do it. I heard that Torah was offered to many nations but they declined and only Jews accepted it and never shared with others. All this makes you believe that they really have the knowledge from God that they keep it so preciously

    • @savtamarlene
      @savtamarlene 2 года назад +1

      We Jews are very happy to share our knowledge. In fact that is EXACTLY what it mean to be “chosen”… to be “or l’goyim/light unto the nations”… teaching by our example of how we live to follow HaShem’s Law. Along the way, we were killed for trying proselytize and teach and so we quickly learned NOT to do this. In addition, we encourage gentiles to become Noachides because once you convert and take all of the 613 Mitzvot on, there is no turning back. Noachides only follow 7, well more within those 7. But if you decide not to continue your Torah observance then you will have sinned a GRAVE sin and Orthodox rabbis try very hard to avoid making someone sin.
      Hope this explanation helps.

      💯 Because TORAH is given to you, one cannot take IT! It's likened to a gift 📦. When HASHEM in his infinite mercies gives to you, YOU SIMPLY KNOW! Its a way of Living not a Religion, lastly given to the Israelites not jews. Much Shalom!

    For once I'm not the last to the party!! You two inspire me so much. I got married at 20 and immediately had 3 sons; I was pregnant for five consecutive years. It was a very bad marriage and we got divorced. Then I met my late husband (also a musician!) and we had another boy 3y ago. I wish he was here in person to hear this with me because you're effectively telling our story. I think hearing you speak would have really moved him and helped him to take steps to combat his severe depression/trauma. No one taught him how to be a husband/father either; his family died when he was 11. A lot of our time together was us fighting because I was trying to teach him how to be a part of a family and he was used to being alone, doing whatever he wanted (ie play guitar all the time). I know that no one's life is perfect and that jealousy is wrong but I have to admit I'm a little envious of you because we would have worked through our issues and just kept on being a family, like you get to. I wish you so many more years of health, happiness, fun, and love.

    Hi! We are a family of 7 also on the conversion path (in year 6), but we live in Jamaica. We recently met a Rabbi who has said that the true halaka on conversion states that when a true convert comes to convert, you do not dely. You do not make them wait, you do it immediately. He explained that most communities delay conversion in order to earn more money from the converts. This does not sound like the case with your community, you speak very highly of it, and it sounds wonderful, but for us, when we learned that, it was kind of a relief. He will be completing our conversion in Crown Heights in a few months. If you would like to connect by whatsapp, let me know.

    Ok…I’m very happy for your conversion and I pray that this new journey comes with a lot of blessings and light. However, I’ve noticed how you ignore every question related to your past life as a Christian - like, are you denying the messiah of Israel because of your conversion? I’m Sephardim and I’ve kept my faith strong since I was a child, now as an adult, I lead my family in the righteous path of the Torah, living a set apart lifestyle (keeping Shabbat, eating kosher and fulfilling every mitzvot capable. This does not stop my Jewishness neither my faith in Messiah Yeshua. You should do a video explaining where you are on this topic. I know many orthodox friends (I’m near Brooklyn) that has confessed to me their faith in Messiah Yeshua, but prefer not to speak about otherwise they’ll get kick out of their community.
