I never realized how INSANE this was. They were literal infants and toddlers being forced to act and learn lines...they probably had no sense of reality or self
Theyve said numerous times in interviews that they were never forced to act. Because they were born into it, they grew up liking the art of acting and enjoyed all the projects they did revolving around the Mary-Kate and Ashley brand.
Just look at Britney Spears or Michael Jackson - it’s the same besides the acting!
Yes, they were forced to act and were traumatized by it. It was never their choice to act and it was scary for them.

Even though they hated being stars as kids and “wouldn’t wish their childhood on anyone.”, I had an amazing childhood because of them. My sister and I grew up with their party movies. I know it sounds messed up, but at least they didn’t suffer for absolutely nothing. They gave me and so many other young girls memories. I just wish it didn’t have to be that way.

Nothing but respect for them. Child stars tend to have an uphill battle once entering adulthood, but they made it look easy.
People who blast them for not returning to Fuller house forget that the original series ENDED when they were just 8 years old. I'm sure the majority of the time they spent on they show isn't even something they remember in great detail, so for them it's not an emotional attachment to the character.
Plus, Fuller House went downhill halfway through the first episode. I remember Full House being cheesy, but Fuller House takes that cheese and adds on 40 more layers of cheese.

fr. plus if they were on the show now, things would be different. and now that their older, it would be weird for them switching places, when they remeber their lines. so they would not be needed for that. and they really did not have a choice to be on full house im guessing.

I adored the twins growing up, I had their CD, movies, Barbies, read their books, (wanted their fashion but never got it). I used to play their games and go on their website back in the dial up days. I had their game on gameboy color. Their cartoon series was so short I had wanted more of it. Lol.
But I'm glad they are doing what makes them finally feel comfortable. They even said they wouldn't wish their childhoods on anyone. They were forced to be almost robotically obeying, instead of being free to play like kids should.
I'm glad Elisabeth got to make a name for herself as well, I know she had a hard time growing up and being compared to her twin sisters and wanted her own identity. She is an amazing actress ♡

I never was a Mary-Kate and Ashley fan when I was a kid I just saw them everywhere and my friends love them to death. Heck, a friend of mine forgot her Mary-Kate and Ashley game boy game over at my house and I tried it once that was it. I always thought that once I reached a certain age like preteen age I would automatically like them but by that time New York Minute came out and then they pretty much moved on after that. I used to believe that things will stay the same and someone so popular like the Olsen Twins was never going to pass. Well, so much for that. Lol
Ashley plays the girly girl twin and Mary-Kate plays the tomboy twin.

The Olsen Twins were so famous that they got recognised everywhere, but now they've been out of the limelight for so long and their sister is part of the Avenger, that the younger generation are going recognise them because of her more famous younger sister than their own fame.

hmoham I had a friend who was in elementary school named Alan and I’m in my twenties and we were on our way to see Age of Ultron with his Dad. I started talking about how the Olsen Twins were related to Scarlet Witch and he was like, “Who?” I wasn’t into Mary-Kate and Ashley when I was a kid but I did see them everywhere so you can imagine how old I felt! Lol

I can't help but feel sad watching this video and they spent their childhoods, they didn't get to be normal kids they were cash cows. I used to love them when I was younger but dont blame them quitting acting and doing what they want to now, and wearing whatever the hell they want.

I think some credit needs to be given to them for becoming these true fashion moguls and fantastic business women. They have created a huge fashion brand that is not only highly successful but it is also respected by the fashion community. Which is not easy when your an already established celebrity. Going from a brand in Walmart to a high fashion CFDA winning brand is kinda unheard of and absolutely amazing. IMO

I’m glad for them, that they’ve gotten to a point where they could retire from acting. Thanks for doing this video on them! I loved Mary Kate and Ashley when I was growing up! I watched all of their movies and videos! There certainly aren’t many twins who can say they’ve literally grown up in front of the spotlight except Dylan and Cole Sprouse!
I always felt bad for the Olsen Twins. I’m sure that they enjoyed their films and acting success yet they are another clear example on child stars being thrust into the spotlight at such a young age heck they were freaking babies when they were in the spotlight longer than most celebrities out there before they could make choices thus it was like they were forced into the spotlight. A part of me wonders if when Full House ended and they started to fledge out on their own if they did it on their own terms or just went for it just for the sake of it.
Why did their parents have them get famous so dang young? Did they understand the repercussions or did they need money? What were they thinking?!😢
In full house on season 1 their parents wanted to take them off so they can have normal lives but the tv producers payed them lots of money to keep them on the show

I grew up adoring the Olsen twins! My friend and I would play with our Mary-Kate and Ashley dolls together on a regular basis. I loved their detective and party videos, their books, movies, shows, everything! I even had one of their bags from their Walmart line which I adored!
This is why I LOVE Ms. Mojo over the other celebrity entertainment channels... very little drama and no trying to make celebrities look bad or judging them. Classy Mojo. Lol.
