I heard about this. Brian Doyle Murrray does such an incredible job as the Flying Dutchman. Hearing another voice actor play the role will be very strange but I think Mark will do a great job. Mark is a staple of the industry and one of the most well known actors.
Although I have no malice towards Mark Hamill and I’m excited to see what he has in store for his portrayal of the Flying Dutchman, this is sadly another case of casting bigger names over regular voice actors. I understand if the original VA might be too old to handle a full time movie, but if we continue making the big name casting in animation a norm, both up and coming and veteran VAs could end being kicked to the curb when it comes to jobs in films.
I think Mark Hamill will make Flying Dutchman sound very intimidating than the original voice. The original is great but is getting older, Mark is extremely talented voice actor and has so much vocal range to set a certain mood. That’s great for a movie starring Dutchman as the villain.
@@GreatgunYu I agree. I just wish that Hollywood would give more respect to the professional voice actors in the industry, and for once put them in the forefront of the movie, as well as on the posters with the rest of the stars.

"Look at him! He's old!" Brian Doyle Murray: 78 Years old. Meanwhile: Mark Hamill: 72 Years old. Tom Kenny: 62 Years old. Bill Fagerbakke: 66 Years old. ... ... ... Sure.
Brian Murray (brother of Bill Murray) is 78 and has been doing movies and TV roles for a long time (Christmas Vacation, Caddyshack, early SNL, etc.) and may be retiring. Sorry that most of the credits I know him from are Christmas movies. He's also the brother of Bill Murray! Yeah, he played the dad of his brother. Maybe the Dutchman is going to be a little more evil and Hamill sounds more evil? Then again, Brian has played a few antagonistic characters before. I hope they do use Brian again for the Dutchman.
