It's irresponsible to say delayed surgery can cause problems without a quantitative definition of spinal stenosis that requires immediate surgery.
Every adult has some degree of spinal stenosis.
Does this mean every adult should have immediate spinal surgery?

I am 76 years old. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in my cervical spine and lumbar spine when I was 57. The specialist said I was too old for an operation, instead, I was given several years of physio and traction. The traction did help, however, the physio departments stopped doing traction and my physio was also stopped. I now have severe spinal stenosis in my lumbar spine and cervical spine. I can not walk very well, I fall easily. I have stiffness in my hands and I also lose the use of my left hand and my left leg. Walking is painful and my joints lock. My neck is very painful and I am unable to look up, my head is bent forward and I can not straighten it up. I am seeing a specialist in a few weeks, however, at my age, I don't hold out much hope that they will be able to help me. I can only hope they can as life is unbearable as I also have heart disease and I require shoulder joint replacement. I have already had one replaced in my left shoulder.
Thank you for watching.

Comfortable laying or sitting down my butt, I can't sit for more than 20-25 minutes before I have to stand up and move around. I also have issues trying to lay down and sleep, and I have to constantly shift positions during the night.

Same goes to me.
I have spinal stenosis at the age 14 and now I'm 24. It's get worse until one time my back feels hard and painful, my leg can't move and feels so heavy and of course it is painful. I can't walk for 1 week. And now I can walk but feels like 90 yo person to get up from bed. The pain becomes more worse😢Often, i only can sit for like 15-20 minutes and then walk again. I cannot sit, walk, jogging, lay on bed to long. it's been a year since the physiotherapist said they call me. But they didn't until now.

Very helpful video. The only thing I would like to say is that I know a lot of people that do need surgery you put on a waiting list and by the time they do get in it's too late. We need to figure out a better medical system

Great I'm screwed
Hi, I have advance cervical stenosis w/arthritis in my neck and both knees. I was told to start physical therapy, but heard it could cause more pain. What are your thoughts
Thank you for your video! It was very reassuring that I have been on the right track in bothering my Dr's to get yearly MRI's for my condition to monitor progression. I always wanted to do this but was met with discouragement because the pain was not enough or because of my age. I want to manage the progression to slow it down with keeping my weight down and increasing flexibility with Yoga and strengthening my abs and overall posture. I feel good knowing that keeping active and spine flexibility will reduce the chance of a complicated surgery in the future.
Thank you so much for your comment.

Have a good day!
Do you have severe stenosis? Do dr want you to wait?
I am 45 now, it has been 5 years of chronic pain. I sometimes have a day that I feel better, sometimes a week, but that’s it and the pain has getting worse. I have seen neurologist and I have been complaining, not only lower pain but cervical and thoracic. The answers from that doctors was “Go and see a psychiatrist!!! I have been to emergency a few times and they said I didn’t have anything. Recently like two weeks ago I lost my balance and my legs were very weak. I went to a different hospital were they finally discovered that I have spinal stenosis. I see this doctor said that if left untreated you can be paralyzed. I tried physical therapy one time and the guy told me I was strong, he made me work with weights in a couple of days after that I had to go to emergency because I couldn’t lift up my legs, my legs felt very weak. They thought I was having an stroke….Anyways I just don’t know what to do!!!
Andddd of course I have lost already 4 jobs because of the friking weakness and pain and all the rest. Now in this job I have been written. I’m have to drag myself to work and what it hurts me more is my son I don’t take him anywhere because I can hardly make it to work…
Thanks for your interest in the channel. We feel sorry to hear that you have had a hard time to treat the current symptoms. However, the accurate diagnosis and the treatment plan can be decided after thorough examinations. If you need any further help, please contact us to below email or number. Thank you.

How are you now?
I've had stenosis for 8 yrs no surgery left thy burns ect but he said stenosis doesn't hurt and doesn't hurt when u sit only when u stand he has that completely backwards
I have had spinal stenosis for 30 yrs. I am 77 yrs. old and I would not trust any surgeon with my back. Too many greedy Drs. out there.
I would love to hear more from you 30 years is a long time are you still active?
How did you manage for 30 years? Plz answer

First of all, we recommend you to see the doctor for an accurate diagnosis. Then you may find the best way to treat it. Thank you.
I had my surgery just about close to one year come June 22nd I have been back under anesthesia for injections since my surgery I still have pain but more in my legs my back still hurts just a little bit but it's manageable but I still get those leg nerve pains which is call sciatic nerve pain so hopefully once I have my weight loss surgery all of this will go away because my doctor wanted me to follow with weight loss surgery after my surgery because I still cannot do hard impact exercise so they need to wait to come off much quicker but I'm still very much uncomfortable sometime I think was it worth it having my back surgery I'm not doing no more back surgeries very very uncomfortable and called a bad infection on top of it while my stitches were still in

I mean just that... No one will do anything here.... The 2 TBIs on paper since 2013 continue to be ignored. The Dementia & Demyelinating Disease. The retention from obvious Cauda Equina. The paresthesia on paper since 2013. The mini strokes (TIAs) The stage 3-4 hypertensive crisis (229/122 - 206/131) All untreated
