My favorite thing about this sport shown at the end when Morgan and Grant have a really good hug
I I love how the announcers are nonchalantly addressing Sunday night baseball while these guys are going through the worst pain of their lives
And they had basically no reaction to the sprint finish 😂😂 so lame
I hate to be so rude, but they are genuinely some of the worst track and field commentators in existence. No wonder Americans don’t get excited for track.
Lol I just found Morgan's youtube channel a couple days ago. He makes really good videos!
0:39 anyone else notice that cup land?
Gotta feel for Grant Fisher. He always gives it his all and ran a gutsy race to try to beat Morgan. Made a move with 500 to go and again into the final turn. Wasn't quite enough but damn, kid has courage.
Luke Rickford couldn’t have said it better than this
To think that in almost 2 years Grant’s indoor 5k would of literally lapped the entire field. Insane Improvement for fisher
“She’s moving up now” lmao 🤣
I heard that too!
Hassan salad that's what she said? 😅
@@jennygreat4846 lol🤣
I knew it!!!
Grant fisher is a monster 🔥 this dude is crazy lethal outdoors
But he lost? and also lost to McDonald indoors and XC?
@@banksj54 Morgan and Grant were 1 and 2 for 2018 NCAA XC but Grant wasn't in the 5000m indoor race only outdoor and they 1 and 2 again that's why they hugged. friendly competition
Yes 💪🏾🔥🔥🔥
@@banksj54 still blazing fast lmao. just cause he got outkicked by McDonald, doesnt mean a 14:06 5k isn't fast.
I feel Fisher pushed a bit too early and ran out of gas for the last 100m, McDonald simply has more stamina and found it easier to chase him
Luis Grijalva is going to end careers next season. Can't wait to see that guy run
Nah
@@flamingored960 god u were wrong lol 3rd at worlds
Before I watched I already knew Morgan was gonna beat Grant. Poor Grant he always loses to Morgan.
I feel like Grant may have set the record for getting second-place the most in his college career. He must’ve won some races but every time I see him run he kicks a little early and someone out sprints him.
@@daltonpulsipher it happened again in the trials lmao. Always coming in second or third
whats the deal with the water cups lmao, nobody took one
They need to take a breath first, man
The man added a few metres by passing on the bend at 200m out, what an animal.
you're telling me that centro and nike gang beat this squad by 1 minute??? INSANE
weather conditions yield drastic differences in time
@@blackwatch_TV also they haven't had as long of a racing season
This was a championship race, they’re racing for place not time.
purely tactical race this was. Centro and co were running a time trial where you try to hold the most consistent pace to get the best time. you don't usually see that in big races, people tend to hold off a little and kick nearer the end once they think they can win it
@@ppeters9802 i get it, but one minute seems like a rather extreme delta
Beamish with the best form in the game
Morgan and Grant finish same as last year’s cross country final.
Someday Morgan will regret coasting through the finish line. When he thinks he has won, he always slows down before the finish line.
How fast is Morgan in the 800m?
Makes me feel okay for running 14:45 at my peak after D3 track.
That's a great time, but this wasn't a pb for these runners by any means, I mean it was a championship race
@@shahiruperera1103 Believe me, I totally understand that. I was a Division III competitor in college and could not have likely survived in D1. I was only stating that in this particular race I would only have been 30 seconds behind LOL
BRO I SEE THESE HUMBLE BRAGS ALL THE TIME NO ONE CARES OBVIOUSLY YOU KNOW THATS AN INSANE TIME HSDJLDSEHNDASBKOFSWYJNVSDKLFSEF
@@calebking2484 I meant it sincerely. I worked hard to achieve that time. It was the best I ever got because that was the limit of my abilities. I respect the talent of these top-flight runners. I raced nationally and know that the next level up is raw talent worked to a fine point.
What age where you?
The bronze medalist almost fell at the last 300 m mark
They all ran slower than Nico Young lmao
I was thinking that as well, but they weren't going for a fast time, they were going for the win. I don't understand why the people why bad kicks didn't push the pace though.
its all tactical. Mcdonald has a 5k pr of 13:23
Nice !! Good for him !
nico young ran 13:50
Typically in championship races, no one goes for PR’s they just sit and kick. Most of these dudes have low 13 Pr’s
TheJohnsoomye yes I know was just saying it for fun those runner are legends💪
I have a friend who ran sub 13:50 this year.
I bet Morgan wishes he is running as well as fisher is these days
Any reason he didn't compete in Doha
You'll get 'em next year Coop! #goducks
Youre right! Coop absolutely destroyed everyone. In the trials he was close to being top 3 while grant is 2nd. That massive improvement.
Look at him now.
ayeeee
These announcers were terrible
jesus fucking christ
That time would be enough to win the women's world championship gold or silver maybe bronze in Doha 2019.
john guthmahn yea high schoolers can win too lol u don’t compare men with women
@@frederickpeng3976 I think he was just pointing out that the slow winning time in this race would barely be competitive at an elite women's race.
@@DGK284 Except that's not true. McDonald's time would've won the women's race in Doha by 20 seconds and is faster than the women's world record in this event. Every single athlete in this field has run faster than the women's world record 5000m.
@@dankeykang6337 now that is not true. The ethiopian women run just as fast as this supposedly men"s field.
@@jameshaney171 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5000_metres_world_record_progression Are you even looking at the times? Women's world record is 14:11. Doha women's winner was 14:26. McDonald ran 14:06 here and 13:15 PR. To even make the qualifying race for this championship as an NCAA man you need to run 14:10 or faster. Most who make it to this race have run under 14:00.
Forest Gump?
first
nice

Nice

It was a slow race and he was racing on his home track so who cares......
This 14:06.23 5,000 meters is unimpressive as our Division ll top finalists ran a 13:53, 13:55, and 13:56 for our top three spots in 1980 in California. And this is Division l ?? Times have definitely gotten slower for sure by American athletes because the top quality runners are foreign runners imported to the United States from New Zealand, Australia, and the African nations.
but are they better than JOE?
@@roro_81 Joe Falcon from Arkansas ?
@@jeffreykicia6534 rip
It's not that they're slower, it's the fact that all races now are ran "tactically" because people want to leave it to the last lap and sprint it. All these guys are doing sub 14 in their sleep but its unimpressive and frankly embarrassing to be wasting such opportunities like that
These NCAA finals are usually tactical races. These guys only care about place in these types of races. Even if McDonald would’ve won in 20 minutes, his place is what matters. These guys can run sub 13:40 in the 5k if they time trialed in perfect conditions.
The man added a few metres by passing on the bend at 200m out, what an animal.
