I know there were a lot of jokes but the US doesn't disallow dual citizenship and I would HIGHLY recommend not getting rid of that citizenship as long as you are living in Asia. The perks of being an American Citizen when not in America aren't always obvious but it does protect you in a lot more ways than you'd thing if something horrible happens (disasters/war/gov. persecution). Being an American citizen will get you out of a hotspot, or at least a chance, the moment you give that up you lose it.
1:05:00 pretty sure it's because lift is created by a differential in pressure above and below the wing so even at lower pressures the differential is still there. Helicopters have to push the air down in enough mass to push the mass of the helicopter up so at lower pressures the same volume of air has less mass which means the helicopter would have to move more volume than at sea level.
This is incorrect. Helicopter rotors generate lift in the same way that an airplane wing does using the same differential pressure mechanism. The only difference is that the airflow is created by the rotation of the blade as opposed to the forward movement of an airplane. The only reason that helicopters typically don't operate at the same altitudes is because of the lack of pressurized cabins. Apparently someone did actually manage to land a helicopter on top of everest in 2005.
correction for around 1:13:00 when ludwig starts talking about indonesia and malaysia: yes they are muslim countries, however, drinking culture still exists here as there are a lot of catholics and buddhists too. people have to understand that indonesia is not just this extreme islamic wasteland, its pretty similar to thailand in a lot of ways, but yes, thailand is more progressive in some aspects. unfortunately, south east asia isnt really documented that well in the west other than singapore, and singapore is crowned as this amazing and strict place, but really there are areas in jakarta (specifically central jakarta) that mirror singapore in many ways. as someone who has lived and travelled across asia, specifically southeast and east asia, indonesia is probably my favourite country that i've been to, and i think everyone should stop just writing it off as a suppressive nation in which no fun is allowed. also the melee scene in SEA is dope.

"I like Gibbons they look like they got a little coat on." - Slime I know what a Gibbon is but upon hearing that I had to google them just to make sure. Yeah. Slimes right.
The reason a helicopter can't fly up there but a plane can, is that the lift coefficient (lift vs weight) is way higher on a moving air plane than it is for the rotors of the helicopter. You could think of it like a helicopter is barely airborne even at max rotor speed in regular air density while the plane at max speed could fly in way thinner atmosphere but is limited by regulation. There is also the you could "fly" (orbit) without atmosphere but planes don't move anywhere close to fast enough to achieve orbital velocity.
@@htenkable The only person to ever do so, and if you read about the conditions, it wasn't exactly easy. Paraphrasing; "I had to find updrafts to follow." Commercial air planes regularly and effortlessly fly 1 to 4 km higher than the top of mount Everest.
