Usually when I practice before playing a game is going with my first 3 darts to the treble 20,19 and 18 to see how my rhythm is. Darts 4-6 I throw 1 dart each at a double so let's say 1 at Tops, 1 at D10 and 1 at D18 (the doubles I usually go) and the last 3 darts I spend time on practicing the bullseye. Because it's the last throw before I and my opponent start throwing for the bull to decide who will start leg 1.
Very similar, but I go Throw 1: T20, T20, Bull. Throw 2: T20 D16, D18 (or similar to get my arm ajustment going for big changes of target), Throw 3: T20, Bull, D16 (always finish this way and great psychology if your opponent see's all three go in)
it seems so logical but the fact that those 9 darts as a routine can also get you into the right mindset and get you focused on the game was something that I did not think of until you mentioned it. will start to actually put some thought into those now, thanks!
Great video, that sequence, in some order or another, is exactly what I do as well. I may only throw double 16,10,20 just to make sure I’m good to go with my in shot. 👍🏼
I tend to go for T19s more so than T20s (I find 19s easier to hit because I'm so short) and what you did there with the last 3 darts Matt hitting some doubles and the bullseye is good practice and just randomly throwing for any double 👍
@@Edgartvdarts does that video look good to you? And it's not just this video. You were very poorly lit in the interview piece yesterday. There have been audio issues in some of the Mission stuff. This stuff matters. It's your brand after all.
I tend to go Tops, Bull, D3, then D11, Bull, D6, then T20, T20, T20.
And miss every one of them.
Do it like Ratajski, throw a 9 Darter in the 9 Practisedarts.
Personally if have 9 darts it'll be 3 at T20, 3 at 3 different key doubles and last three try to take out 121.
Good topic, I'll give this a try since my pre-match routine is a bit lose

No problems glad it’s helped you 😊
Might be the only time I actually already do the sort of routine you said, I also do a triangle around the board so changing angles all the time
Actually incredibly helpful!! Thanks so much :))
I believe Phil Taylor once hit a pseudo 9 darter in the practice darts, most players from what I’ve seen switch if they hit the first two 60’s
Great advice thank you

Great video 👍🏻
Thank you I’m going to be doing more this style with the go pro now 😊
I always go 20,20,20 then 19,19,19 then d16,d20,bull
Definitely didn't place those last three in the board aye.
First 3 at T20, second 3 at T20-T19-T18, last 3 at D16-D8-D4
Honestly, I don't care. Might as well do that. Also I only play league and local competitions so the 9 practice Darts are not necessarily a thing
I do bullseye, then last 3 I go double 16, double 8, double 4
I throw all 9 darts at my doubles. That's where the game is won, and it also makes me hungry for that nice big red treble 20 bed 😉
Ive seen a player on dev tour before throw there last 3 darts into the surround
😂😂 do you know why
@@sportysam9 maybe it's a superstition, I'm not too sure
I'm a fan, Matt.
Please think about capturing good quality video and audio for your posts. It reflects on the brand.
It’s a go pro and rode mics the equipment doesn’t get much better 🤷♂️

@@1972vulturerelax mate it’s just a short video to help people out
You look a bit yellowish, Matthew Simpson 😜
Stage lights when dipped
Well, I aim mine at the board and I hope I hit it with at least one of the nine 😂
