“Sonically pleasing” music doesn’t necessarily mean it’s objectively better. Different songs are sonically pleasing to different people. Chip is ALWAYS in pocket, sometimes the pocket is just more complex than others
It’s not that grime artists don’t sit in the pocket, it’s just that it’s not a normal hip hop pocket. But if you grew up with grime then you understand how tekky the pockets are.
Bugzy probably did win because he blew up off the back off clashing Chip and had the support of the entire country minus London, but in hindsight it was just a good clash and Chip would probably still batter him live on set

For me, he beat Bugzy in their clash, and would beat Stormzy. But i do listen to both Bugzy and Stormzy, both new and old tracks. And thats the difference for me. They make better music than Chip - whereas Chip is in his element when he's clashing and I'm just there for that. Think thats why this feels a bit underwhelming by his clashing standards.

Grime is complicated. Not supposed to be simple. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea though. As complicated as it is some of beats and sounds are soo simple, I swear the polyphonic ringtones or w.e we used to make beats in playground is to blame.
