Awesome, you save me from feeling sorry for my self for not having fancy equipment.
For sure one of my latest favourite channels on youtube
I was very shocked when you started playing guitar! You're really good!
Appreciated your kind words, I was a guitar player like 10 years ago, haven't been practicing since I got into electronic gears. Jumping back to it is kind of another way to cure my GAS 🪴
I can actually trust him cuz I know he is a man of his word because of the demo of the stuff he shows
Appreciated, I kind of know what you're talking about lol
And the demos sound good! Like their not crappy, bleepy tracks
I came across these videos at the perfect time. The urge to buy gear is strong, but you bring out the common sense that is lurking in the forgotten depths of my brain. Thank you!
Thanks once again Michael. God bless you ☺️🙏🏼❤️
playpm the voice of reason in a very emotionally-driven industry
Flawless videos, always. As I've said numerous times Michael, you are a TREASURE. We love you.
Much appreciated, but I still feel sorry to show others my crappy playing lol
@@playpm it is NOT crappy. Ha.
A life saver for us who love making music on a budget 😅
Thanks! Going to check out some of those vst :)
killing it!! thank you for music...
great info like always
Nothing like mpc. Computer is more powerful, but that feeling then you hit that pads...
Jams sounding very freshhhhh🌴
Thanks for the kind words, I know it's some random crappy playing, but I like the sound through lofi effects.
@@playpm No way! The guitar comes through very nicely in headphones (and I like the synth parts too)! Very enjoyable video (I don't have an MPC, but still).
Based gas therapy back at it again
I love your videos. I’ve sold (almost) all of my hardware before I started watching your channel and have no intention of replacing it. Getting the Live 2 made me sell everything..including the live 2. Bought a Surface Pro and can do a lot more, be more portable and £900 better off.
I really laughed out about the selling Live 2 part 😆
I keep going through your back catalog of videos thinking I’ll learn some cool tricks inspired by hardware that I could integrate into my software process. But what I’ve learned is that hardware doesn’t have anything that isn’t something we normally do in software. 🙂
Exactly, digging hardware grooveboxes is kind of like learning new DAWs which are stripped differently, but in the end we're just using them to make the same shit 😉
I used to have GAS for plugins. I started deleting a lot of them. It occurred to me that a lot of plugins do the same thing. Being an Ableton user I just figured that lots of things are available in stock Ableton. Time to learn how to actually use them instead of hoarding more and more plugins!
I found this to be really useful attitude especially when it comes to synth plugins, I decided to chose just one or 2 and go deep on them rather than have 10 different ones all with slightly different sounds and interfaces and spend forever in preset searching hell :P
Ableton has everything you need. Analog is my go to for making nasty basslines with squelching resonance. Wavetable is for everything else, and Operator is for when you want to punish yourself with FM.
@@GuyGamer1 these days I try to do everything in DIVA so if I ever change my DAW (I use Bitwig currently) all my synth patches will come with me in the move :)
very awesome Hey Joe! My girl plays that a lot as well.
This man knows what he is talking about. You can “have” an MPC if you can’t afford one or if it would be a struggle. But the GAS is strong in me. I have a Live 2. I can afford it… barely. 2500 and 1000 back in the day too. I know I can basically do what I do on free MPC Beats. But still I have an MPC Live 2. It boils down to just wanting to be anywhere and not on a computer and the feeling of hitting the pads. As much as I try to fight/deny it, my mind is different in front of an MPC rather than a MacBook Pro. That might sound stupid but is legit to me. 🙏🏽 If you can’t afford an MPC, you can enjoy a digital alternative free by way of this man so be thankful. If you are fine in front of a computer only, awesome… I’m jealous.
Nice vídeo as always! I wish you could also give us insights about android/iOS devices and what software and plugging to use! Cheers!!! Hey Joe!!!
🔥🔥🔥
nice riffing jimi
awesome!!! next please make a how to "pocket operator for Pixel"
Very awesome. My Girlfriend is a guitar player and she's been spending a ton of money on effects and multi effect pedals. So I told her if she gets a usb audio interface it would open up a whole new world of sounds mostly free. So I got Fl studio and started downloading a bunch of free vst plugins amps pedals and other effects and drum stuff. Although I'm sure there is a easier DAW for her to use. the learning curve on FL studio is a little steep if you never used a DAW before. Is there any DAW for a guitarist you could recommend that might be easier for some one new to DAWs to use. She just wants to build a signal chain that is easy to change around on the fly. Also is there any midi foot switch I could set up for her? Sorry for all the questions.
Hey, sorry I missed your question back then. The best one would be Reaper, no Mac needed, totally usable for free, I'll share my tips in the future, but before that, just give it a try, it's an efficiency monster once you know how to add keyboard shortcuts.
@@playpmno worries. Very awesome info. Thank you very much. I actually installed reaper yesterday. To try it out. I'll dig into it tonight when I get home.
did ultimate guitar get rid of amp sim? or are my eyes possibly scanning past the link? i love the sound that you show and wanted to try it out!
edit: in case anyone was lost like i was, its in the mac app store :)
It does have amp sim, it's free, just try.
I should have been looking at this 6 months ago and started thinking this way.
I bought the MPC studio and don't really like using
Had it since day one it came out, I remember it lacks of an important shortcut in my workflow, and it has a little pad trigger issue, so I returned it.
@@playpm I took so long to test I didn't feel like arguing to get a refund. I think my wife threw away the midi cables
I have replicated MPC 2.11 update standalone by using pots and pans and a comb and tissue paper.
Cool! Waiting for the video tutorial.
@@playpm I only provide one to one tuition here in Berlin.
does Tonebridge exist for windows? seems like you might need to use like a android emulator or something
Yes, it doesn't have native windows support, but you can side load the android version. Maybe I should find another easy solution for PC users 🥲
WE WANT SHOE BOX
Pls do a roland e4 aira compact for free mate 🙏⚔️
Already done, check out my previous video!
3:23 🎤Hey Akai, watcha gonna do now Mike's put you out of business?
going to guess before watching: laptop + GarageBand 😅
And an audio interface, a cheap guitar, and a few free plugin.
Nice. The granular plugin looks great. Reaper has a lot of stock midi plugins that can do all sorts of randomization / variation, and it can record that midi output to a track so you can chop up the good stuff.
Still crossing my learning curve on Reaper 🥲

I can save the cost of a Corvette by driving a Civic also. All your videos I've watched seem to be bogus.
Nothing to do with an Akai MPC just an annoying amateur musician creating click bait
Exactly!
