Imagine if haulk was captured by the NVA or VC. They said he won't be killed if he make them laugh... Moments later haulk was shot on the foot. One of the VC said "You joke suck little GI, no one like polka, at least the last GI we captured was funny that we let him live" then haulk ask "who was it?" and NVA said "radio man name Adrian cronauer" and Haulk realize that the General and other soldier's was right "Cronauer was funny and he's not"

Was he a made up character for the movie? I can't find a thing on him.
"Good Morning Vietnam" is mostly historical fiction. Adrian Crounaur is a real guy who hosted a morning radio show on Armed Forces Radio in Saigon during the Vietnam War, but everything else in the movie is basically made up.
@@tyrannosaurusburke The names have been changed but the officer who gave Adrian grief for playing certain rock bands and singers that are banned by the military is real. Also, there was one incident where he escaped a cafe bombing. That was real.
Cronhauer himself self says, when asked about accuracy of the movie, literally says, "I was in Vietnam, I was in the air force, and I was a disc jockey, now was there anything else?"
If you don't believe polka can be fun/funny, watch SCTV do it! John Candy, Eugene Levy
I have to say that I never hated the lieutenant in this movie I hated the sergeant major. The lieutenant was just kind of a dork
I agree. The Lieutenant was not mean-spirited at all. He wasn't trying to hurt anyone. He was just a "by the book" army type. Also, he genuinely thought he was funny and talented, but he wasn't. The Sgt-Major was just EVIL! He tried to have Cronauer killed!
I have hated Bruno Kirby ever since...
Volume was wicked low kinda ruined it for me

“I have no idea what that means, Sir, but…it seems very negative to me.”
