    What do you mean you pick the other gerbils up by their tails?? Never pick any small animal up by its tail EVER, this stressed out the animal and can cause serious harm.

      Exactly, there is only one animal where it's safe to pick them up by the tail for a very small amount of time and that is a mouse (learned about it in lecture)

      @@alltimebubble7837it actually isn't, as it causes them a lot of prolonged distress as they'd only be picked up like that by a predator, its safe to restrain them (gently) by the base of the tail when you're already holding them though

    Hi, have you got any tips on taming a Fat Tailed Gerbil. I got mine over a week ago, he's already 3 months old and not very tamed, because his previous owners didn't bother to spend much time with him!
