The bottom line is that Dr.Jo is a unique teaching story that you don't see very often. I've really lost for words and get overwhelmed trying to find words that describe what you've done. You're helping me a lot with my career. I'm a new, different teacher with you now and for sure keep up with the trend.
@@TeacherNa3im nice- although it’s an interesting one in terms of tenses… a fortune teller might naturally use ‘will’ (prediction) but also maybe ‘going to’ (prediction with evidence) or other structures ( eg ‘ I see you with a tall handsome stranger’ etc). What do you teach with this?
@elttraining things like that but more like: you will probably/certainly be a doctor. Marry a rich person. Have ...kids. Travel... I just provide a few ideas and let my learners predict whatever they want as long as they don't shift to L1 as long as they're enjoying it.
Super useful tips, thank you so much Jo. I have a question, is it possible to adapt this kind of role plays to 1:1 online classes? In affirmative case, how do you recommend doing it? I appreciate your time and response 🙏
Hi Jo. I have a question. Is the idea that the whole class do one roleplay idea? My point is, won't there be a lot of copying of ideas from one pair to another?
@@MrHombre67 thanks for your thoughts- with this kind of activity, it really doesn’t matter if they use use similar ideas (in fact, if you give role cards, they’ll definitely have similar content). The objective is to get them speaking English and help them with a motivating and useful scenario for that. Does that help?
@@elttraining That does help. I'm a newbie, recently CELTA trained. Signed up to all your courses. Still finding my way. Will be trying your role play suggestions this week. Thanks for getting back.
What a great video even your language
the that and terms you're using are amazing. Even your physical presence is unique and sparkling my interest.

Good morning Jo. My favorite role play activity is The fortune teller. I use it to teach the future tense.
