@@GersbermsIt basically is. So many dudes with money have no women skills and these are mostly the type of women that just go for material things and image. It’s exactly what each side thinks they really want unless they eventually grow up.
I love that I feel like I’m watching a National Geographic documentary with this. Haven’t been to a club in 15 years but it’s awesome seeing what really happened back then.
@ModernMBA Great video and awesome experience my guy. Glad you were able to see our world behind the scenes. Really appreciate working with you, thanks for everything! See you in May!
@@sammitraTYSM! What’s left out is that I book a lot of young dj’s and manage them to bring in ppl to help fill the party which gives them experience and lands them other gigs in the scene as well. Also my 2 assistants kya and jazz are just as important as me, entertaining everyone when I’m not. My goal is to interact with every single person that walks through our doors. It’s not just a job, it’s my passion, my life. Along with emphasizing that mental health is first. Balance. The nightlife industry is not for everyone!
@@ericbosschicago Mad props man. I do cocktail events in NYC would love to collab but really just wanna say how you were talking about giving people a good experience is exactly why I started as well. As a bartender I've always loved peoples' curiosity and fascination with cocktails and in private events I always look to feed peoples' imagination and give them the attention they don't usually get in a typical bar. much love from NYC ❤
The 4th grade teacher promoter either has a speech impairment or he is trying to talk with "flex/drip(Whatever the Genz term is)", No judgment here, I do the same. I recently go to strip clubs and I talk like my normal self to the dancer. Didn't need to speak like I was cool, I can be myself.
That’s the type of person that, if you’re lucky enough to have in your scene or your city, you cherish them. Because people with that kind of drive and passion don’t come along very often.
Eric is a true artist. His creation is really unique and special. Bringing "non-club" people to a club and having them enjoy themselves completely on a Thursday is brilliant. He earns every dollar he makes. Talk about a value add...
What I was impressed with Eric's party was that the partygoers do not look like traditionally club going people. Their race and profiles seem to be out of normal crowds attracted to clubs, and his events expands the horizons for the people themselves and the club expands the clientele on behalf of the industry. Eric is really doing a phenomenal job, from what's shown in the video.
TYSM‼️Yes, many of my attendees are not regular club-goers, they’re there supporting the dj’s. Everyone is welcome & invited, I just want everyone to experience the party 🙏
I think they look exactly like the people that traditionally go to clubs are attracted to parties like this. Do you think this guy is successful because his guest list is filled with people that aren’t going to show up ?
I completely agree. Eric has it figured out. Honestly, it's a goal I think everyone in their life should strive to accomplish, find a passion and share that with a community you care about. It's extremely authentic to internalize the goal because it makes your intentions genuine and people naturally follow that. Externalized goals require validation which requires you to become something you aren't. The demographic he targets I don't think he views as just an underserved market ready to be groomed, but a part of a community that needs to have experiences like this and the places to do it. @ericbosschicago, big ups for what you're doing for your community. I think if you could do this successfully for free you would, but we don't live in a world like that. If you aren't already familiar with the concept of third places I recommend you look into it. I think you may find a deeper meaning behind what you're doing besides just running a business. You've inspired me to be the Eric in my city's infant nightlife scene and maybe even a different way to carry myself at festivals and other live music events. Seriously a perspective I needed to see right now.
Loved this format! It’s not theoretical breakdowns and spreadsheets which is great on its own but this is on the ground and gives real perspective. And draws parallels to other businesses which is genius. This channel is doing the work for real! Would be interesting to look at the macro of nightlife as a business as the newer generation is reportedly not going out as much.
This is so similar to seeding a game server. People want to go where other people are present. Seeding is where you and your buddies hop on a server and just play together, eventually randoms begin joining and the server gets filled organically.
I actually LOVE this format. Seeing multiple different people and the ways that they work and accomplish the goals required by the industry in their own ways is so illuminating, and I really hope we get to see and meet more people this way. And kudos to everyone featured on their hard work and their future successes. :-)
😂😅😅😂. Listen I’m an older millennial and I was watching wondering wtf is going on!? So you mean to tell me now there are tables where do one else can go to? Why would you go to a club to sit down? I don’t understand the concept of bottle service with the girls and the ra ra ra. So you pay all this money for the bottles with the girls and the lights but why is that being done?? So people can see the bottles coming?? We DID NOT used to party like this!
Very interesting. I used to be a night club promoter in Scotland and it worked a bit differently. We were part of the underground techno / drum and bass scene, so it wasn't so much about being glamerous, but it was about putting on a great night and creating the right vibe (much closer to what Eric was doing in the 3rd segment, but without the Sushi). We would have exclusive use of the club, and would keep all of the door receipts (and had to staff the door ourselves). The club would provide the bouncers (numbers based on our expected attendance) and the sound system (again we could choose if we wanted a 5k, 10k etc based on our needs), both of which we would pay for. We would book DJs and pay for their fees, travel and accomodation, provide decor and bring our network of friends, many of whom would help us out with promotion, flyering, postering, manning the front door etc and so wouldn't pay. We would keep all door receipts, and a % of the bar take over a minimum (basically they take enough to cover their costs, and then split the profit). The better we got at creating fun nights the more famous we became, and eventually we had top DJ's from London asking if they could come and play at our night, as they had heard how much of a great night it was, so they would typically waive their fee and come on an expences only basis, so we would arrange accomodation and travel. This meant we were able to get much more expensive and famous DJs than we could reasonably afford on our budget, which again helped our reputation. We also got great press in local papers and even titles like Mix Mag, which again helped the brand. The more we spent on making the night fun and giving to the crowd, the more we got back in future events which was a very virtuous cycle.
Yeah what was the club night called? I'm also from Scotland and know both the Edinburgh and Glasgow rave scene well. I'm so happy you can avoid clubs like they were showing in this video - nothing about how many women you bring in, just how good the tunes are
Yeah this is how I remember it as a student in Aberdeen. Men and women paid the same entry fee. You'd just hear through word of mouth which club had the best nights and go. None of this promoter business. I was shocked on my first trip to America as a 21 year old girl and not having to pay a dime to get into any club, even with big celebrities performing! Now I know why haha, I was the product.
The professionalism from these promoters surprised me, but it really shouldn’t have. I’m sure the scummy ones get weeded out fast, while the ones who take it seriously make good money for years
uh this is a JOB, not his backyard or bedroom. he is at WORK inside of the club, to expect him to party along with the guests makes no sense. his job is not to party, it is to setup and setup and setup and keep the income rolling.
I really love this particular episode because the industry isn't as transparent as others. Please make more similar videos about industries that operate and exist right under our noses!!
Bottle service is a scam. The clubs send girls out to other bars to lure men into coming to their club and buying bottles. Each and every $300 bottle of grey goose has the girl earning a commission. Meanwhile the poor simp thinks he has a chance 😂
I’ve watched nearly the entire Modern MBA catalogue, and this might just be the best video yet. Interesting topic, interesting angle-almost journalistic in nature. I’d love to see more deep-dive content like this!
I used to be a dj and some promoters were even clever enough to ask the ladies what their favourite songs are and he then asked me to play them at specific times. Little gestures like that can go a long way, especially when a night is tough and there aren't as many guests or it gets super warm inside because the AC is broken or whatever reason. In the end it is the tough nights, that define the promoter's skill (and also the dj's skill)
@@ericbosschicagoi have friends in chicago, after seeing how much hardwork and love you put into these you've earned my respect. When i come to visit Chicago we'll definitely come to one of your parties if you'll have us ❤
@Alphabet7 you have to be in shape and then just walk up to the club and ask the security guys if they are hiring bouncers. Former bouncer here, i highly recommend doing it for the experiences but the pay isnt that great unless you move up to being the door guy
Wow what an insane amount of effort... seems exhausting to do that every night. Can't believe that second guy manages to do it while also being a school teacher. Major props to Eric too, super cool the atmosphere he cultivates.
2nd guy and his friend are probably selling drugs on the side to these women after a relationship has been established and after they have entered their network. That's where the real money is, it's very lucrative....that's why they work so hard. The amicable teacher can be the pleasant 'front'. The friend on the phone ( maybe several friends) in the 'back' sort out the real deals $$ in the DMs. These women think they're getting a great deal, drinks for free...but they are potentially open to being just as big of 'marks' as the men paying for the tables.
@@PaintballHazard You are right, lets be real, there is a chance. Either if he does it or not, he still makes good money, 800-1200, lets say 1000x3 he gets 12.000$ each month working 3 days overnight. if we consider night that he dont have luck lets say 10.000 each month, its 120.000 each year. Either he sell or not, he doesnt need it, he already make good money. Having a job as teacher and getting 12k monthly as side income is something that if i would be Jay i wouldnt risk selling drugs.
that's like saying people who go to work, go to work. he is WORKING at these venues to ensure money keeps rolling in. you expected him to partake in these activities? this is not free time
Wow Eric’s parties really redefine what i thought clubbing could be. That guy really knows what he’s doing and i respect that. He saw the limitations of the conventional way of promoting and really seems to have broken through that i would definitely go to one of his parties if i was in Chicago.
@@yeskaitlyn8029 i went to clubs for a couple years and never had even 0.000000001% fun. I just hated everything about it but was under the delusion it was networking or a way to possibly meet somebody or w/e and nothing like that ever happened.
Same. I can never see myself enjoying in a club. Eric's passion for showing joy does seems fun though but the over sexualizing turns me off a bit. It seems desperate and cheap.
Eric is exactly what I would do. This way when other people walk in it feels like an authentic party with authentic people. Those are the best parties.
The way these parties are organized is so bizarre to me. I am located in Berlin (Germany) and have gone out to Techno Clubs for almost 12 years. We don't have anything like promoters, tables, preferential treatment for women... stuff like that. Everybody is the same in front of the door. At least at the most famous and best clubs - only the shady places do these tactics.
@@ruinerblodsinn6648 Raves are built different and its a totally different context and target. In my country promoters are not profesionals really, they are just people who likes party and then business owners talks to them and they end up in a deal like, bring a table and we give u a bottle for free per table. 90% of party promoters are college soul party hosts.
Having worked a bit in this industry I didn’t have high expectations of this video, but Once again I am so impressed by the thoughtful depth of Modern MBAs work. From thinking through what the actual hard work Derek and Jay are doing, what differentiates them from their competition, to seeing how Eric elevates the work to a real artfom, that he takes genuine pride in, is amazing. Thank you for this thoughtful and insightful analysis.
Among all the promoters, I think Eric gives the best club experience for everyone since his parties are inclusive and nonjudgmental. Anyone can have fun and have a great night out without being discriminated against based on appearance or income.
I haven’t been in a night club in like 15 years but it’s so cool to learn more about how they operate. I always assumed they were sketchy and manipulative. But now I seeing that last promoter Derrick just trying to bring the party and help people have fun on a Wednesday night, I can tell it’s hard work and he takes pride in it.
as a techno event producer, Eric‘s approach resonates a lot, despite being almost a completely different vibe and crowd. Creating community like that is such a potent antidepressant. It’s so clear how much he values community!
this video perfectly explains why I have never (and will probably never) buy a table at a nightclub. from watching the video, everyone seems to be primarily socializing with who they came with, and the tables seem to be hustle (thanks to this video). I have seen a many of club goers looking at the bill and scratching their chins figuring out how they are going to pay for it. i will go out when it is free and minimize my cost of being there
As a normal guy (nor famous nor rich) and someone who has a lot of friends who are girls and experienced a really in depth display of the power of promoters and girls in clubs (when I was in Italy must a preface) Eric was really a fresh of breath air and what I wish all clubs would be like. Maybe that's cause I'm a guy and more or less I'm powerless in clubs, but I really appreciate what Eric has created and I adore it. I also respect the promoters in this video because although they are playing a game with clubs, they're keeping their girls safe and that's respectable. But Eric man, I love it
TYSM‼️I really appreciate it too. My party last night was an example of an entire place having the time of their lives from beginning to end. The vibes, energy, conversations, dancing, interactions, everything. And you really have to be there to feel it, since it’s unmatched because of every little detail, me circling the room like a mad circus clown lol, my assistants, and every psychological component we integrate. Greatly appreciate the kind words❣️🙏
Love this video! Three different promoters, 3 different marketing strategies! Derik - selling exclusivity within the nightclub's prime real estate / traditional word of mouth branding/venue aimed at younger crowd between the ages of 21 - 26 Jay - 2-person team leveraging technology for scalability & hospitable hosting / bringing in as many guests he can for scale / letting the club's reputation do the branding with known local DJ & headliner artist Eric - bringing young professionals & older demographic to relive the party days / using props to create a fun atmosphere to liven up the crowd / bringing consistent businesses to the venue that would otherwise close on a typical weeknight
Thank you! What we do is different. I’m actually curating, coordinating operations, and hosting the party. I strive to make each one of my concepts an experience.
@@aarons8711 so you are the maturity of my 2 and 3 year old daughters. why not bring a bubble gun to work and while out stopping at the bank or post office while you are at it since its so fun.,
I don’t party anymore, but I did a lot. This video reminded me why I disliked clubs almost from the beginning. It’s SO focused on alcohol, social status and the “meat market”. Give me a psytrance party or illegal rave any day of the week instead. Such different vibes. I’m also wondering: how do promotors for gay/lesbian clubs or venues work? Just invite hot people for free and the rest will come?
This is quite literally my biggest hobby for the past few months. Going to different venues fridays and saturdays. Living next to Toronto is a dream, tons and tons of spots to check out.
Fascinating video. For the club the tables are inventory, for the promoters the women are the inventory. I like the way Jay uses social media and dating apps, Tinder and Instagram, to get new inventory, sort them out in different packages and assign them to clubs. And of course as with any product, the parento principle reigns, a few women will be on the top list and account for 80% of the referrals. Would be interesting to see what Chris Williamson of Modern Wisdom thinks of this video
This has been sitting in my watch later for a month. This is 10000% your best video. I'm sure these are massive labors of love and this has certainly been under appreciated but I think this would make your channel explode.
This was a great video. Reminds me of the book Very Important People by Ashley Mears who goes undercover in the NYC club scene to investigate the lives of promoters and how they operate.
This is AMAZING how is the algorithm not recommending this more. Eric (the last promotor) was like a conductor guiding an orchestra. It's like watching a nature documentary with humans!!
Ashley Mears did a good ethnography specifically about the way that women and beauty circulate in the club scene- it's a pretty in depth look at things from a woman's perspective
Weird. The viewcount for this video is significantly lower than other videos. This video didnt pop up in my subscriptions at all and I had to search for it. The algorithm does not like something here for sure. Great video as always. Super informative to learn about these hidden in plain sight industries.
He should have followed people Chicago, Vegas, NYC, LA, Miami, and London, Dubai for international. That would present a better representation of what it's like. In this video it's most Chicago natives who are coming into these clubs. But in other, more tourist centric cities, you have to somewhat change up your approach and the competition is bigger. The need to attract whales is bigger. I saw one video talking about promoters in Vegas catering to whales who spend $10-100k easy but these promoters have to find women and whatever the whale wants including drugs and sex workers (if the women are not on board). The hotels and clubs are often in on it as well. Search atmosphere models and you should see videos about it
Love that you've treated this topic with some respect. I'm pretty deep into the LA nightlife scene and most people never have anything good to say about the nightlife business. Everyone's so judgmental about people who like to party. I love that you captured an important aspect of the current era and translated this wild business for those who aren't a part of it!
Man, this ended up being far more interesting and less sleazy than I was expecting lol. I’m 31 and a native Chicagoan and while I never really got into clubbing, Chicago’s nightlife and clubbing scene is as good and fun as the best of them. There’s so many different and dynamic offerings here in the city if you’re into the nightlife and you can have some crazy fun experiences if you know which clubs to go to. This inside look at the logistics of how these places are ran was fascinating. I will say that while I didn’t really care for the two guys or their clubs, the last one looked more vibrant, chill, fun and I really liked the hard work and dedication of the last promoter. That club feels more inclusive and sexy and thrilling, with a diverse mix of people and would be a little more up my alley, even though I don’t generally go to clubs. I may actually consider hitting that one up sometime on my off days. Overall, great work, MBA! This was one if your best yet and the cinematography used for the footage was impressive. I hope you got to experience even more of the Chi and enjoyed your time here. I’m looking forward to your next deep dive.
first 2 are where you spend money to impress & the people spending money are the ones who feel they need to do that, the last club is where you go to have fun in a fun environment - which, for me personally, is step 1 -- bc I am not spending >$1k in a night if I am not having fun first. I dont care who thinks I look cool or I got it lol
I use to go out a lot. Clubs almost always suck (to me), especially if you go mostly bc there’s an artist you like. The only good club experiences had enough (reasonable) space, an excellent sound system, and with music/artist you actually like. It’s usually pick two of the three.
Really great video, love this type of format, Something we all see and hear but never knew the insight behind. This can be a good niche for you and separate you from other 1000 of business breakdown channels
This video proves to me personally why this is the worst way for someone like me to pick up women. Great insights in this video, well researched and presented, thanks 👍
I love the way Eric Boss is committed to hospitality. I totally get that drive to provide a great and memorable experience that people walk away from feeling like they just had the night of the year
This is so humbling as a girl, I went to mami with my friends and I was the only one not let in the club. It was so humiliating, we came from Chicago all the way down for my friend’s 21st birthday. Safe to say I was never invited out again 😢
What did your friends do? As someone who now lives in Chicago who also knows Miami well it’s not surprising it was Miami but definitely odd they wouldn’t let you in at all or your friends wouldn’t stick up for you? Mind sharing the details of what happened?
@@adeptsaxophonist all Latinas and I’m a dark skin black girl. It’s crazy bc I’m also an exotic dancer… I get hired at hard clubs to get into. So I know I’m beautiful, well just as beautiful as them.
The night club system in Mexico is just like in Chicago and, in my opinion, it sucks being a man. You literally can have much more fun with 6 friends drinking beers in your front yard than going clubbing, potentially getting into fights, spending a weeks' worth of salary and either getting boring one night stands with high risk of STD transmission or just getting ignored in favor of other guys who are willing to spend more for a girl
This video was really interesting. Impressive how they build their brand out almost nothing but social media. The first two guys were impressive but the last guy Eric was on another level. I'm older and don't really subscribe to that lifestyle but would really want to go to one of his events. It's like peaking behind the scenes of a great magician when you see how the trick works it's not so impressive but when he does his magic on the stage for all to see you are blown away!
Greatly appreciate that! This is funny because my assistant actually called me a magician before lol. I focus on making it interactive for everyone there, and I’m constantly doing things to raise the energy in the room 💪🙏
Great insights, really enjoyed this video. Have never seen a look into this world as close as this. Also very cool to see you guys experiment with this new video style! This is definitely something that I'm going to forward to friends/colleagues.
Definitely takes a special, very extroverted type to maintain that level of hype and awareness all night. I can't imagine it, sounds way too exhausting.
I bring a bunch of girls in at 9:30. By 11, your club is full. I convince the club owner that I am the reason his club is full, not because people dont go to the club till 11 anyway. That is the real hustle
Really quality job on this doc, this is an impressive step up. I paid for college playing bars and big parties and booked bands/ ran sound at a couple venues as a side hustle. The kinda clubs in your vid (the first 2, anyway) were never my scene, but I always enjoy watching the business of nightlife and found this fascinating. People really take for granted how much you have to grind to make things happen.
@@ericbosschicago this video was enough for me it be on the lookout for your parties. I am not about to make your job harder & be another one of the hundreds messaging you tho lol, ill look out for promos on your page.
This is fascinating, coming from the world of gay & lesbian bars in the 1980s & 90s when we all went to the same club… Because it was the only one. Even in a decent-sized city. 😳 If there were 2 gay bars in town, one was hopping Friday night, and the other was hopping Saturday night. Period. No promoter needed; it didn’t take long to figure out. And we all paid the same price. The question was which one had the Sunday afternoon “Tea Dance” at 4 pm. There weren’t enough of us to spark much competition!
Wow, congratulations on your impressive investment success! Your discipline and focus on delayed gratification is truly inspiring. I'm curious, what are some of the key factors that you consider when making investment decisions? Do you have any tips for those of us who are just starting to dip our toes into the world of investing? Thanks for sharing your story!
I'm a former clubber in Chicago! There was/is so much discrimination when clubbing in Chicago while Black, my friends and I were turned away so many times during our 20s.
Considering the demographics of this city, this is wild to hear! (But not unbelievable). I hope things have gotten better, but the shallow take on prioritizing 9s/10s/12s etc means they probably still get away with a lot. (Especially up north of the river, which is where I imagine a lot of these clubs are?) I get it, gotta sell tables, but it's why I've never gotten into the scene. I don't even wear makeup - give me a chill open mic bar any night. Sorry to gravedig a month old comment, but really do hope things are going well for you. Chicago is an incredible city, I feel like it shouldn't be rare to see positive things about it on here, but it is. This was a nice change
Don't feel sad there's nothing wrong with you and there's no racial discrimination as you imply. You and your friends most likely did not have the look that rich dudes are looking for. Remember who brings cash to clubs.
I love this new style of videos where you follow someone and explain how their business works, it’s a really good fit for your channel. I also enjoy the purely theoretical videos, they’re always top notch.
This is fascinating to me, my business installs sound/lighting/video systems primarily in high end lounges and nightclubs so this is the majority of my clients
This was extremely interesting and enlightening. I appreciate the respect you gave each of these men as they worked their craft and created value and great memories for their marketplace and target customers. I feel like a lot of people would look down on these promoters, which is too bad. All I see is extremely astute businessmen who know their product, market, and niche and who go out every weekend and create real memories for the people they work with. A lot of respect for these guys working hard, and for you the content creator showing us the business of clubbing with no judgement. I never thought about the economics of a night club but they are fascinating. You have a new subscriber
12:07 “No one would suspect he is a promoter”, ha ha ha! Guests doesn’t sit in elevated positions and looking bored. You can immediately spot a person not partying…
I watch every video but I found this video especially fascinating. Ironically I'm not much of a clubber. It feels like a rich man's game and I'm far from rich. But the logistics of it, how much work goes into making it an memorable experience is really cool to see. I like bars and I like getting to know the staff and i don't live in a major city, so this was an interesting step up. I planned a friend's birthday and wound up doing similar work to a promoter (for a party of like 7-8 lol), and that was a task. Can't even imagine trying to fill an entire nightclub in a major city, I don't have the social battery for that lol. That Eric guy is a genius imo lol I wanna go to one of his parties.
Nightclubs cant make enough money with my friends….we used to always drink a lot in out place before hitting the club. Pay the cover and thats it. One drink is the most we would order.
Imo, you need a certain percentage of people there who are just trying to genuinely party at the club, spenders or not. Doesn't matter how stacked the tables are if the dance floor is fucking sead.
For the first time being on youtube, someone has finally made a video on how Nightclubs operate in a way that its not as demonize to the common folks . I would usually say something negative but this video is too education to try that. thank you for your journalism!
At my age the club scene is kind of a thing of the past, but definitely gotta respect the hustle these dudes have. I will say it would be interesting to see how a female promoter operates vs. the guys featured in the video. Seems like the strategy would have to be different in some ways which would be interesting to see.
The first half of the video is indeed how it works in many US markets and a few Canadian ones too... but also conveniently ignores the significant gay/queer clientele that has always been present at many of the venues I either played in or worked at (as a straight man). I saw a lot more "organic" promotion such as engaging regulars with drink promos, free cover and line-cutting perks, while the promoters worked outside the club generating buzz, and if it was a slow night they'd pitch a discounted cover+drink package to entice passers-by to come inside. Planting "girls" only works for a specific type of clientele and an often fickle or troublesome one at that. It's no substitute for cultivating a strong reputation and lasting brand image, and it sounds like Eric has absolutely mastered that craft.
Excellent video. Very basic stuff explained and BUT VERY IMPORTANT. Cleanly explained and executed. Promoters come in very different forms and different walks of life. At the same time we can get value from it all.
I talked about gentrification in Berlin with my relatives. Like there was a divide between the hip people with no money who have to make stuff up and the people with steady jobs at Siemens who can pay their way but don't have time or energy to stand out. The people in the first category can't keep up with $1000 bottles.
I'm from geneva, supposedly top 3 most expensive cities in the world. I go out pretty much every week-end, in a lot of differents places. Expensive or cheap ones. And I'm SHOCKED by the prices in chicago. The places don't look that exceptional, or that big. The difference isn't that big, but when you factor in the average salary it's a big big difference
What you need to remember is Chicago is a very important city for transportation of extremely valuable illicit commodities. Chicago is at the intersection of multiple interstate highways and has been a hub for organized crime going back to Al Capone, and now the modern versions of him. This a hidden economy, and an enormous one. Additionally much of this money cannot be easily invested or spent on certain things without being laundered first, thereby incentivizing “wasting” it on the things it can be easily spent on. The reason Chicago is often called “Chiraq” or the “Murder Capitol” of The US is due to this highly valuable illicit economy. There is a large amount of people in that city making significant illicit profit which they cannot spend/invest the same way one would with clean money, and for many of those people their lives are dangerous and tomorrow is not promised.
this was a really interesting video, love this format. super engaged the whole time since we got to see the perspectives of different people. the topic itself is so different
I'm a bouncer being doing security for 4 years. I have interest in being a promoter cuz I'm 6ft3 built and pull 304s easily. Why did you quit the DJ gig?

What I was impressed with Eric's party was that the partygoers do not look like traditionally club going people. Their race and profiles seem to be out of normal crowds attracted to clubs, and his events expands the horizons for the people themselves and the club expands the clientele on behalf of the industry. Eric is really doing a phenomenal job, from what's shown in the video.

@@mkontentTYSFM❣️☺️
Bless your heart
I actually LOVE this format. Seeing multiple different people and the ways that they work and accomplish the goals required by the industry in their own ways is so illuminating, and I really hope we get to see and meet more people this way. One of the most unique business case study. The quality is off charts.
Thanks for the insightful information! So can you tell us, what stopped you from doing this?
What was ur club night called? I’m a promoter in Aberdeen
Yeah what was the club night called? I'm also from Scotland and know both the Edinburgh and Glasgow rave scene well. I'm so happy you can avoid clubs like they were showing in this video - nothing about how many women you bring in, just how good the tunes are
Hi mate im also in Scotland, active in the techno scene and wouldn’t mind networking with you. Where can I reach you?
Yeah this is how I remember it as a student in Aberdeen. Men and women paid the same entry fee. You'd just hear through word of mouth which club had the best nights and go. None of this promoter business. I was shocked on my first trip to America as a 21 year old girl and not having to pay a dime to get into any club, even with big celebrities performing! Now I know why haha, I was the product.
The professionalism from these promoters surprised me, but it really shouldn’t have. I’m sure the scummy ones get weeded out fast, while the ones who take it seriously make good money for years

Fascinating video. For the club the tables are inventory, for the promoters the women are the inventory. I like the way Jay uses social media and dating apps, Tinder and Instagram, to get new inventory, sort them out in different packages and assign them to clubs. I may actually consider hitting that one up sometime on my off days.

first 2 are where you spend money to impress & the people spending money are the ones who feel they need to do that, the last club is where you go to have fun in a fun environment - which, for me personally, is step 1 -- bc I am not spending >$1k in a night if I am not having fun first.

Get your passport and go outside the us
This video was really interesting.
@@ericbosschicago u doing great work!
"These parties are like Eric's children"
That's the core of why he's so successful. I want to go visit Chicago now hahaha
28:58 "Eric makes himself present to connect with every individual".
There are layers of meaning in this sentence.
Indeed‼️🙏
I bring a bunch of girls in at 9:30. By 11, your club is full. I convince the club owner that I am the reason his club is full, not because people dont go to the club till 11 anyway. That is the real hustle
usurpation of cause and effect
These phrases like "about to pop off" with this serious tone is too funny.
😂😂😂😂😂😂The future of our planet.
Inclusive and non-pretensious parties- Man I love Eric.
TYSM‼️💓🙏
@@ericbosschicago this video was enough for me it be on the lookout for your parties. I am not about to make your job harder & be another one of the hundreds messaging you tho lol, ill look out for promos on your page.

@ericbosschicago is the real deal met him a few times at some clubs in chi and is legit as they come!
Only on weekdays buddy. Watch the video. It's strongly implied that at the weekend he promotes the club as other guys
This is fascinating, coming from the world of gay & lesbian bars in the 1980s & 90s when we all went to the same club…
Because it was the only one. Even in a decent-sized city. 😳
If there were 2 gay bars in town, one was hopping Friday night, and the other was hopping Saturday night. Period. No promoter needed; it didn’t take long to figure out. And we all paid the same price.
The question was which one had the Sunday afternoon “Tea Dance” at 4 pm.
There weren’t enough of us to spark much competition!

I'm a former clubber in Chicago!
There was/is so much discrimination when clubbing in Chicago while Black, my friends and I were turned away so many times during our 20s.
It wasn't cuz you were black baby girl they discriminate in looks.
Considering the demographics of this city, this is wild to hear! (But not unbelievable). I hope things have gotten better, but the shallow take on prioritizing 9s/10s/12s etc means they probably still get away with a lot. (Especially up north of the river, which is where I imagine a lot of these clubs are?)
I get it, gotta sell tables, but it's why I've never gotten into the scene.
Not from chicago but I hate shit like that
Same in Florida! Judging by the comments, change is a long way to come :(
I love this new style of videos where you follow someone and explain how their business works, it’s a really good fit for your channel. I also enjoy the purely theoretical videos, they’re always top notch.
One of the best videos you've put so far, great job!
Nice I used to be a club promoter in Houston, TX for almost 7 years and this has me pumped
These people work SO hard. The soul of the Nation..
The goal is to bait the girls in to get male whale spenders who want to seem cool
Facts, always gotta pregame. I can get very buzzed at home for less than $10, meanwhile one drink at a bar is $15+
I really like how you followed the job of a nightclub promoter to explain the business.
Never seen one
I mean Berlin is not even close to being as commercialized as these clubs in the video. I am from Berlin and I can have a good saturday night for 40€
@@mozbeats4717 Berlin felt like two cities co-existing.
Man, such a good insight to this world that I never knew existed. Much respect to the promoters out there, it's a grind and an art at the same time 👌
this was a really interesting video, love this format. super engaged the whole time since we got to see the perspectives of different people. the topic itself is so different
I did 4 years as a DJ in these clubs in NYC. Most people pass through, blow cash, and move on. This just scratches the surface of the trade 😂😎🤙🏽
I'm a bouncer being doing security for 4 years. I have interest in being a promoter cuz I'm 6ft3 built and pull 304s easily. Why did you quit the DJ gig?
