From their 1969 album, "To Our Children's Children's Children, a concept album about living life to the fullest each day.. Written by bassist John Lodge, joined on the vocals by Justin Hayward. Such a great Moody Blues tune, the depth of the instruments make it such a heavy tune, with extraordinary power, joined by the quintessential Moody Blues vocal vibe. Just a classy tune. The story of living in the moment when life can change in a moment. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Craig. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
A John Lodge composition, whereby he exhibited great generosity and humility of spirit in awarding the lead vocals to Justin Hayward - nothing, and no one can compete or equal the plaintive, emotional vocal delivery of Mr.Hayward. A spectacularly well produced album.
Yes. The “core 7” albums were the Moody Blues best. Had some nice songs as their style changed with the times but late 60’s to early 70’s were the real Moody Blues.
Most all of them were multi instrumentalist… as well as raised singing in the boys choir. Mike Pinder was paramount in mastering the evolution and recording techniques of the Mellotron.
From: Threshold of a Dream. Great song! My personal favorite: You and Me, from Seventh Sojourn. That guitar intro blows me away every time. Love the Moodies!
Harri B and commenters, being an old timer I've been listening to The Moody Blues since '67. They have so many great melodic songs on each of their LP/CD's I wanted to pass on a super list especially to the newbies hearing them for the first time. This list also applies to the long time Moody fans who've never had a chance to listen to each LP/CD. 1) Nights In White Satin 2) Tuesday Afternoon 3) Are You Sitting Comfortably 4) Legend Of A Mind 5) Ride My See Saw 6) How Is It (We Are Here) 7) It's Up To You 8) The Tide Rushes In 9) Melancholy Man 10) Question 11) Gypsy 12) Out And In 13) Watching And Waiting (Great tune!) 14) New Horizons 15) You And Me 16) The Land Of Make Believe 17) When You're A Free Man (Exceptional song!) 18) The Story In Your Eyes 19) I Dreamed Last Night 20) When You Wake Up 21) I Know You're Out There Somewhere 22) Forever Autumn 23) Lean On Me Tonight. The weekend is here. Happy listening Harri and Moody fans!
Great track - Watching and Waiting also wonderful from this album but I particularly like It’s Up to You and Dawning is the Day from A Question of Balance and Have You Heard/The Voyage all listened to as one from On the Threshold of a Dream
One of my very favourite albums since I was 15 years old. I thought the album was about drug experiences of the 60s variety ("higher and higher"). Only years later did I learn it was about the moon landing. I think it fits either theme. It`s both lovely and inspiring.
"In the hands of time...falling slowly.." It always amazes me that the Moodys wrote such deep, introspective, reflective lyrics in their youth - before having the perspective of years to realize how precious and short life is. To Our Childrens Childrens Children is arguably their finest album.
It is their finest. So many musical qualities, like the unique Eyes of a Child refrain woven between the songs and the amazing Gypsy, which is like being injected with joy. The whole album is thrilling and beautiful, including so many cosmic thoughts to fill your head with as you listen to the gorgeous music. One of the very best 60s albums.
The Moodies were one of the few who were able to record in a classical music recording studio in London. Their lush and varied sound was greatly enabled by that.
This song is off my favorite album, already mentioned ! It's hard to listen to one song off the album, this album is meant to be play straight-through no brakes, the songs flow one to the other !
@@dougreed2257 I wasn't comparing the diversity of sound between the two. The MB's had a fuller orchestral sound, as Pink Floyd used a synthesizer. But an orchestra was used on side one of Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd.
Side 2 of this album is absolutely first rate, as good as anything they have ever done. (Can’t connect with side 1 at all). Great Progressive rock with psych elements coming through loud and clear.
I totally liked yer Moody Blues-Watchin' 'N Waitin' reaction a year ago. My question is...why did it take you so long to listen to another song from perhaps the greatest album o' all time? If you haven't done it yet you owe it to yerself to listen to it in it's entirety already, got me?
This tune is spectacular...always has been. LOVE it... "So love everybody, and make them your friend".
Actually those lines are from Candle of Life on To Our Childrens Childrens Children Lp. 👍

You’re welcome!
So beautifull 🥰
@@agnetesorensenelbom5085I agree. ❤
To our children's children, was the moody blues salute to the moon landing.
You can’t go wrong with the Moodies!

I love everything by the Moody Blues. Thanks Craig and Harri.
You’re welcome!
thank you for the Moodies reactions! John Lodge on bass is considered one of the top 10 most influencel bass players on the planet
I don't what it is but this song touches deep inside. The bassist wrote the song. John Lodge
This is my favourite MBs era. The album as a whole is a Magical experience ✨🍄✨

One of my favorite songs from To Our Children's Children's Children, which is an absolutely epic album! Thanks for a great reaction!
I like your reactions. The Moodies are special.
MBs are good for the soul's inner peace ✌️🕊️❤
their music speaks to my soul like all symphonic rock songs. thanks for this video. from france
Love this song ❤
One of their many masterpieces. I little more noir than most, but still great always brings tears since my wife’s battle with cancer. ❤️🎶
One great one that you have missed from this great band is Never Comes the Day. A beautiful song right up your alley. You won't regret it.
From: Threshold of a Dream. Great song! My personal favorite: You and Me, from Seventh Sojourn. That guitar intro blows me away every time. Love the Moodies!
1969, so a bit of both. Moodies definitely helped create 70s production techniques.

I agree Eddie, New Horizons never fails to bring a tear to my eyes. Very beautiful.

It took forever for them to be inducted into the hall of fame, such an injustice to a really great group of real musicians and song writers.
My favorite John tune.

This song makes me think of Pink Floyd more than other Moody Blue's songs. The mellotron sounds like Floyd''s 'Wish you were Here'.
I'm sorry but the moody blues were way ahead of floyd with symphonic sounds, and mellotron, they pioneered it to its full potential!
