im glad we got a dark mario game like this. the ending is very emotional and impactful, i always wondered why the final boss theme wasnt epic but it was sad, and the credits didnt sound really happy despite successfully saving the past and the mushroom kingdom from these vile villains, but after years of playing this game and growing up a bit i started to undertsand, the final boss theme tries to convey the last battle that'll decide the fate of both races, the mushroom kingdom and the shroobs, all the shroobs wanted was a new home but instead of coexisting they decided to conquer and kill everyone on the planet so only THEY can have it, they did a lot of effort to survive but they failed in the end. the credits isn't really happy because...despite winning, the damage has already been done, every toad is pretty much dead except for toadsworth and those 2 grandmas you see from the past, and despite you saved your own race, youve still caused the Extinction of a whole race, im surprised that they went for this direction for a sequel to superstar saga which is the total opposite of partners in time, but im glad they gave us this game (and btw very cool playthrough :) i watched some of the videos of this playthrough when they popped up on my feed, keep going!)
