After MANY hours of research, I've learned how to style, thin, etc...my own toppers. I'm extremely happy with the results. No 'stylist' needed. 💜

In your opinion is it worth the extra money to purchase the human hair version as opposed to synthetic?
I’m struggling to decide, having a hard time paying so much when there’s a synthetic option. I’d love to know your opinion on the value of each!

Honestly, that's a very personal question. It just all depends on what you are looking for. The human hair has the best feel because it feels like your own hair. While it won't frizz and fray on the underside and ends like the synthetic version, it will react to weather (get frizzy in humidity) just like your own human hair. It also needs a lot of conditioning and the time spent to care for human hair pieces is much more than synthetic. Synthetic pieces are great because they hold their style and they are easy to wash/dry. You'll spend a lot less time than you would on human hair. That said, like all synthetic fiber, they will frizz and fray on the underside and ends. It's really just comes down to personal preference.

I agree. I’m in California and nobody wants to style a topper. My hair yes. But not a topper. They act like it’s beneath them.

If it's human hair they might be more apt to do so. But synthetic fibers ruin their expensive scissors. Hope this helps ❤

Here’s the thing: it’s assumed we all have “stylists” that will work with wigs. Let me say that I’ve yet to find one. In fact, I’ve even had a snear and even an attitude from two stylists here (SW Florida). These people don’t want to work with wigs, they just want me (I have hair, but enjoy wigs like accessories or when I need to go and don’t have time for an entire makeover. Where do you all get these people? Even the breast cancer place that SELLS wigs don’t “work with them”….when they’re even open to sell them. Grr 😖

I'd keep calling around. Sometimes places that sell wigs also will style them.

Definitely keep looking around! Sometimes it's hard to find a good wig/topper stylist.
