@@StevenPolanco-yp3yc come on,it was 2-1 Val after 3 rounds in round 4 Val wasn't much ahead in the stand up(and don't come with the stats, ufc stats counted all clinch strikes on the fence for that round, really?).
It was a close round 4 and even if Valentina had somehow survided that round Grasso would have won round 4 because of the sub attempt,so it would have been 2-2
If you say Valentina was ahead in round 4 and only lost this round because of the spinning Kick then you have to do the same thing with round 2.
Grasso was ahead in the stand up and made many mistakes in terms of preventing takedown attempts(didn't keep her distance sometimes, was rushing some of her attacks and so on)which Valentina could capitalize on so you can say(if you say Valentina lost round 4 only because of the spinning Kick) Grasso was winning round 2 and lost only because of her mistakes(mistakes which Grasso didn't make in round 4) which leaded to the takedown.

Remember at the end of the round, Grasso was in a guillotine mode but Valentina was saved by the bell. Yup it was 2-2. Round 1& 4 for Grasso. Valentina is cocky as always. I’m can’t wait for this fight, all grasso has to do is defend the takedowns which I know they trained super hard for that was the only thing Val did in the fight to make it seem like she was winning but Alexa dominated on the feet so we’ll see what changes were made

  • @dfpguitar

I genuinely love that Valentina is maintaining her condescending alpha villain persona. And that Alexa is being her sweetheart self too. This is like a movie/cartoon come to life.
MMA is such an exciting unpredictable sport. All of anyone's past achievements however recent , mean nothing when the a worthy contender comes along. The explosive reactivity of youth can overcome massive disparities in experience and certain styles just cut through others. But I love how confident Valentina is!

From what I’ve seen Grasso isn’t really better than Valentina, but she’s really good. Alexa is much younger and mother time is catching up with Shevchenko. Hi still believe Valentina has what it takes to become champion again and retain. But, she’s going to have to work even harder as she isn’t getting any younger. Even if Grasso wins a trilogy fight, I don’t see her retaining the belt for like Valentina did. She doesn’t have that kind of experience in the sport. We shall see. Regardless, it’s time for round 3!

No dog in this fight, and I'm not sure if this is overconfidence or denial, but Valentina did not win all rounds. The scorecards literally proved that. The momentum was clearly shifting before that finish. The takedowns got harder, and holding down Alexa was getting even harder than that. Alexa was in her face with a full tank of gas before the 5th started.
I would almost feel better for Valentina's chances if she actually made excuses, like an injury affecting her cardio. Now i don't know.

The issue is not if Valentina is 'smart' or good overall and that's why she wrestled, the issue is... she's bragging about 17 time muai tai champ... but saw no success and turned into a wrestler. Valentina set herself up for that burn provided by Alexa... '17 time muai tai champ? So why not strike with me?'

That is demonstrably false. The judges gave Grasso Rd 1. They scored 2 and 3 for Shevchenko. During Round 2, Round 3, and Round 4 (up until the finish) Shevchenko was clearly dominating the fight. That's just a fact. However, Grasso is correct when she states 2-2 because if Round 4 were scored, it would be her round because she finished Shevchenko. I like both fighters but I feel Shevchenko is a level above Grasso. I believe Saturday will be a long, painful evening for Grasso. Shevchenko will leave no doubt about who is the better fighter.
