Why Ro of m1 and m2 not included in the gain calculation

Could u please tell me. Why there is no current flow through load M4 while calculating gm, while calculating output resistance u r including output resistance of M4, so there is path through resistance (ro4) , but u r saying that no current will flow, how?

For Rout calculation, Iref current source is assumed to be open circuited i.e deactivated, therefore Id4 and Id3 have no closed-circuit path
