@@MrTyurikov Thank you very much for being interested in Donut and these wonderful capybaras, that means so much to me. And thank you very much for your support. It helps so much when I'm faced with these completely inhuman, cruel people.
This is all heartbreaking, do you intend to visit Donut and the other capybaras before your time is up there? In the past I have wanted to visit Japan, but at the point, I am more likely to visit the capybaras down in Curitiba, Brazil. Wild capybaras are free capybaras, they are not there to beg bamboo or entertain. They are living their best life. I follow a couple of channels who explore different herds along the human/wild interface. Capybaras don't like dogs and some are appreciably skittish of humans. Herd behavior though is on full display. I love the rich red color of the South American capybaras. I feel bad for their counterparts in captivity. It's difficult to provide an animal in captivity a satisfying life. Obviously some do not even try. I hope Marc and yourself are able to see Donut before leaving this fall. Thank you so much for bringing them to the world's attention. #JusticeforDonut #ShameonBiopark #BringDonutHome
It is absolutely heartbreaking and from what I can decipher Donut is very depressed, which is not surprising given the horrible zoo he has gone to which is all concrete with no vegetation. Yes we will definitely go and see Donut and the other 3. Marc is recovering from what is probably Covid and still feeling quite weak in the heat, otherwise I would already have gone to see them. I know exactly how you feel about Japan. Would you let me know if you do plan to go to Curitiba? I have several friends who live there who have promised to look after us when we visit the park but Marc is very concerned about security in Brazil. There is another place which I have written a blog about. You can spend all day on this farm for about £5 which covers everyone in the car. It's not quite living in the wild but it's a place I would like to visit. Also the Pantanal. I would need to get to recognise all the capybaras I was observing and of course they would probably mostly want to stay away from me, which makes sense from a survival perspective. As you say, it is so extremely upsetting and demeaning to see these magnificent animals having to beg for bamboo, even more so when so many Japanese people tease them with the bamboo. Aoba, my favourite now that the other 3 have gone, she was always probably my second favourite (in case she reads this!), Just like her mother Momiji she is very sensible and wise, and spends most of the day at the far side of the pond, staying cool, sleeping and keeping away from the visitors. She only comes over to the petting area when she is really hungry. I wish I could have brought Donut's story to a much wider audience. I'm still trying. And I have to find a way to educate the Japanese capybara fans so that they care and understand welfare in capybaras so that Nagasaki Bio Park can no longer get away with their cruel treatment of capybaras. Yes Syrup was so expressive, his face, eyes and body language. From what I can decipher Donut is very depressed. He often does not come out into the public areas. This is not surprising given that he has gone to a horrible zoo where everything is concrete with no vegetation and a very small pool. Donut was such an interesting capybara always curious about everything, always investigating and marking his territory. He has lost all that. I will be going to see him. I wish all his friends could come to Japan and protest about his cruel treatment.
I will go and see him so I will let you know how he is. I just can't get over how cruel it was to take him away and send him to a horrible zoo. I think of him all the time and it just breaks my heart how such a trusting, exceptional being could have his life destroyed in this way
Where is donut now?
He has gone to a horrible zoo called Aso farmland where he is living on concrete and looks very depressed
Poor boy, how are you now? 😢😢😢
From what I can learn I believe he is very depressed. I have written a bit more in the description with the video.
@@CapybaraWorld Thank you so much for sharing everything you know about him.

What did the Bio park do with Kona did they send him away also.
No Kona is still hidden away in a tiny pen behind the zoo where no one can pet him. He would have been much happier at Aso farmland.
