Here are three major tips that helped me get Level 6 1. Download the hour long audio files from the past papers and listen to them over and over at about 1.3~1.5x regular speed. Your brain will adapt and on actual test day, all the audio will seem a lot slower and easier to listen to. 2. Memorise the structure of all the "example answers" given for the writing section of the past papers. Make note of the reoccuring grammar and vocabulary choice and, with Q. 53 in particular, you will see a pattern of how to structure your responses. Just write them out over and over to practice writing speed as well and eventually writing the responses will be as simple as plugging in the different information the question has given you into a template you've learned. 3. In the Reading and Listening sections, the spread of correct answers is balanced over the 50 questions. For example, there will be 12 A answers, 13 B answers, 12 C answers, and 13 D answers. It will never be like 23 As, 4 Bs etc. In order to take advantage of this, keep a running count of how many A, B, C and Ds you've filled in on the corner of your question pamphlet so that when you come to the end of the test and you're tossing up between 2 possible answers, you can see that you might have 13 of one letter already and 11 of the other so go with the 11 one.
Timestamps: 1. 2:03 - Do as many past papers as you can find. 2. 3:05 - Figure out whether to take TOPIK I or II. 3. 4:00 - Find out what works for you on a test. 4. 6:49 - Don't use only one resource to study. 5. 8:03 - Practice taking the test for real at times. 6. 9:13 - Focus on what you don't already know 7. 9:56 - Flashcards will save you. Make them. 8. 11:12 - Memorise test instructions to not lose points. 9. 11:37 - Take breaks. Don't overcram your brain. 10. 12:30 - Enjoy this strangely fun learning journey. Thank you so much for these tips 엠쌤!
6:50 Totally with it. Only one resource is too boring to keep studying. Choose your basic textbook and as sides, you should see the movies, talk shows, and various RUclips videos. Then, lots of vocabs and expressions will definitely overlap. No need to review! Cuz you already did naturally !😎
I'm grateful upon stumbling unto your channel. It's so far from what i am used to (my environment and lifestyle) which is full of infelicitous things. You're very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. I am very impressed with you empowering us through this channel you created. Keep it up. Thank you again and stay safe.
I did a past paper of TOPIK 1 last night and didn't even get passing marks for level 1. I was honestly really surprised at the format of the test and learned very quickly it's mostly about how well you can actually take the test and follow directions in Korean. It's very similar to the ACT in the US. I'm glad I did that so now I can narrow down what I really need to learn as well as study off of former exams directly.
Your 3rd point is...not good. At the beginning, you will only receive the first part of the test, which will be your Listening and Writing sections (60 mins and 50 mins back to back). Then there will be a short break and you will come back and they will hand out the second part which is your Reading section. They won't give you all 3 parts at the start of the test, so you can't really pick and choose which part you do first unless you outright decide to ignore the Listening section that is being played on a speaker to the whole room while you look at the Writing section.
SloppySailor my point still stands. My advice focused precisely on the part where they give you both Listening and Writing sections. The listening section gets progressively harder and if you’re not aiming for a level 5/6 (I’m referring to TOPIK II here) then I would advise to spend more time on the writing section while the listening section still goes on. This is merely a piece of advice from someone who has been doing practice tests for a while and this approach seemed to work for. Might not work for you or someone else, which is totally fine. I prefer to leave the harder listening questions in the end blank and then use my pick-one-letter-and-stick-to-it approach, which statistically raises my chances of getting some of the harder listening questions right :)
@@Mangorrita Oh yeah, I totally agree with you. I'm just talking about how in point 3 you mentioned "Are you someone who's going to do the whole reading section or are you going to stop at question 30 and get a head start on the writing section" - maybe you meant Listening section instead of Reading. Sorry for being pedantic! Good luck with the test!
I'd love to know how you make explanatory flashcards, especially with more abstract and difficult concepts (I'm not sure if you've made a video about this before)
Ooooh this is an interesting idea. I think I have a pretty peculiar way of making flash cards so I don’t think it will make much sense to anyone else lol but I mainly include the most important information on them and then give them to a friend/relative so I can explain the concept to them and in case they don’t know if I’m right or wrong they can read what’s on the flash card :)
ainur imanina I’ll cross my fingers for you! I’m sure you’ll do great, just don’t stress out about it too much, get plenty of sleep and rest beforehand and go into it with a positive attitude! 화이팅!!
Ma'am,where did you buy your Topik Book?I wanted to take the Topik exam and I wanted to pass at least the Intermediate Level(which most Korean companies require),but Idk if it's Topik 1 or 2...Do you have any idea.Thank you very much❤️
Do you or anyone know if dyslexic people get a little longer to listen then read and write because I'm worried it will be too fast and I will not be quick enough
I'm really confused about the test.I will be finishing his HSC this year so I'm interested in getting my higher education in korea.SNU or other universities require IELTS or TOPIK.If I take IELTS,I'll have to study korean language for like 6-12 months in korea. What if I take TOPIK from here(Bangladesh) ? if I achieve level 3 or upper level TOPIK will I still have to take the language course tthere again or will they allow me to study higher education based on this TOPIK result?
Hello!! Can you help me? Im doing the most basic level on topik1 exam, but I would love to know like when questions stop for level one and turn unto level 2. Can you help? Thanks!!
shout out to the fellow add/adhd folks, KJHDSLKJGAHKJSGH TT___TT also do you have quizlets? i use them but id love to see yours!! i like using the multiple choice / flashcard options
토끼이빨tokkiibbal I used to use quizlet a lot but I never really made my own sets of flash cards (weird right?). I prefer physical flash cards. There’s something about writing the material down that helps me remember :)
shino fujita ahahahahah thank you! Maybe one day my boyfriend and I will make a parkour video (he’s the parkour athlete, I’m merely his student hehehe)
남오세영 I don’t really ‘study Korean’ through dramas because it’s not like I can learn grammar through them but like to watch them without subtitles to get used to listening to somewhat natural Korean speech :)

Thanks for sharing I'll try these !
SloppySailor thank you so muuuchh!!
I can believe that you reached TOPIK 6 in less than four years based on your analogy of the test
Could you please explain 3rd point again
