    This was also my first vampire movie. i saw it in November of 1989, ten years after it was released. The month before I bought the a junior novelization of Dracula at a fall book fair, and I definitely wanted to see a Dracula movie after that. I was only 7 at the time. Then, in February of 1991, I saw The Lost Boys at a sleep over. My childhood, was a ghoulish one.

    So good! This review was different from your other ones because I could see that passion in your eyes. You look like that little kid again 😂soI don't think I've seen this version of Dracula. Nothing is clicking. 😬🙈🤣 I like the Lost Boys but I mainly watch it because Kiefer Sutherland was so freaking hot in that movie 👀😍 Bram Stockers Dracula with Gary Oldman is my favorite. Just beautiful effects with the blood . Second is Count Dracula (1970) with Christopher Lee and psycho, Klaus Kinski lol.
    You made me jump at the end of this review 😂 I hope I'm not the only one you scared. 💀💜💜💜

    Hi Karen. Nice to be reminded of this one and I enjoyed your enthusiasm. I have the movie on laserdisc but sadly the disc has some rot and I remember I wasn’t able to finish it but I’d been really enjoying it. I’ve just found a cheap blu ray of it so will catch up with it again soon! Fang you :) PS Trevor Eve was big on British tv when this came out as a private eye, Eddie Shoestring. It was a fun one before he went on to more serious dramas….Also when you mentioned your love of wolves, I just wondered if you have ever seen Never Cry Wolf? Not a horror movie but it’s really good. Also Bill Mason’s documentary film Cry of the Wild is worth seeing, he was a great Canadian explorer and naturalist. All the best

    I have a very long list of vampire movies as you know I love vampire movies and I think we talked about this but even if we have it I'm sure you've seen me talk about this being my favorite horror movie this being what made me love vampire movies and be in my favorite vampire movie as well that is the Lost Boys but I'm not sure how much people know about what I really love I have a long list favorite Dracula movie would have to be Bram Stoker's Dracula I'm a sucker for a love story and it's got so much elements of true life of the character that Bram stoker based Dracula on in that one too and I'm a lover of History so it definitely has to be my favorite Dracula movie and I love John Carpenter's vampires what people don't know is that there's two more that to set with it and they're called Vampires: Los Muertos (2002), Vampires: The Turning (2005), I also love the underworld movies, I love the first one but the second one is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine in the next two ones and that's the 30 days of nights I know that the second one is horrible but I like it, 😂 I also like the hammer Dracula movies with Christopher Lee, another vampire movie that I adore has to be Slayers, there are so many out there and I keep trying to think of how many there are but coming up blank I just thought of two more there's original and its remake now there is a sequel to the original but I haven't seen it and that is Salem's lot from (1979) and (2004) I also have to put in there Night flyer, and the original Fright Night, I'm going to put something else in there now this isn't horror movies but another guilty pleasure of mine is the Twilight saga movies, also Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman, interview with a Vampire is another one I love, along with Queen of the Damned, all three From dusk till Dawn, Dracula from 1931, the brides of Dracula, Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula, Dark Shadows, Nadja, Rise: Blood Hunter, Let the Right One In, Let Me In, The Forsaken, Embrace of the Vampire (1995), Once Bitten, My Best Friend is a Vampire, Way Of The Vampire, all three Blade movies, and the Return of the vampire

    You'd never believe Frank Langella went out with Whoopi Goldberg.
    Dracula 1979 has one of the most romanticed Count Dracula's I've ever seen in a film. Smooth, sophisticated, and remarkably up for some swing 70s disco in the love making department. The only thing I despise about Dracula 1979 was Badham's deliberate intention to age the film or desatchrise the colour to make the film look supposedly authentic, whilst draining Gil Taylor's cinematography like a vampire to celluloid. I prefer the original version with no desatchrisation. There's very few actors that can hold your attention like Frank Langella. His good-looking physiche and his presence speak louder than words. I often wonder what Bram Stoker would've made of Langella's heavily romanticised characterisation. I don't think Stoker would be impressed with the overall story. Nice to see Cornwall take a front seat in a film. Especially St. Michael's Mt. The locations add to the overall atmosphere. I was never taken by Olivier's performance as van Helsing. He just didn't feel right, but Frank Finlay in the BBC 1977 version of Count Dracula is a revelation. But the draw is Langella. Probably the best Dracula since Christopher Lee. Oh, and Kate Nelligan. Beautiful woman.

    It is one of the best movies on Dracula . I think it is so funny that Lucy's man is so pissed off when she is dancing with Draula , have to he is out classed by Dracula. I would have loved it if Dracula would have won in the end. the only one that was smart was Vanhalsen but he got killed and was not enough to beat Dracula.

    • @spiritsnscreams
      @spiritsnscreams  4 дня назад +1

      @@northsea177 haha yah, but the little smile from Lucy at the end when his cape flies away sort of makes me think she’s hopeful he’s still around and not destroyed completely. I enjoyed that because it wasn’t just a straight forward “she’s released from his spell” but more that maybe she did love him. It’s a good film for sure.
