Welp, I've done driving things, then moved to flying things, and recently got into floating things. Now I want an underwater thing. My wife, "thanks you"...Haha!
what can i say other than a great video review..honest and to the point. But totally agree that seeing how much that terrain has altered since you last went there with the gladius sure shows how much volume of water has gone through.....keep em coming..!!!
The algae is way too prolific to get much joy out of this sub/drone. Also you really need one with some sort of gimbal camera. Good try though Justin. Re: your comment at 24:15. This video is not boring at all. You are showing us the capabilities of this drone. What use is a sub/drone if you can't search for something?
These underwater excursions are my favorite! I'm really looking forward to your next one. I also liked that it was kind of a vlog. Can't say I'm a big fan of the Fifish. The lack of pitch really ruins it for me.
That was Great, I also enjoyed the nature hike in the beginning, it was very interesting seeing all of the edible plants that you were able to find. It would be interesting to find out what caused your controller to glitch. It looked like at first that you just lost video since it was able to still rise up in the water. I was hoping that you would be able to visually drive it back. Fortunately you were able to drag it back with its cord. I'm thinking if that had happened to you in the ocean. It would have probably got snagged on the corral bringing it in. Very interesting and fun video, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the new ones that you will be testing with them having more motors to adjust your viewing angle. It makes me wonder how long it will be, before new ones start coming out with the little robot arms to pick thing's up. Great Video, Happy fourth of July to ya 🇺🇸💥💥💥🙂
I have work as ROV pilot for since 2005 and the hole game is to lean how to flying the ROV, stay of the seabet. Drop the 4k and if you can turn the light up/down that will help you.
great video dustin, every time you search im watching with my fingers crossed, thats a shame about the pitch on the sub, i would suggest they add some software like the parrot bebop drone where the camera can pitch without the actual craft pitching or the camera phisicaly moving, otherwise i cant see a way they can make it any better with the control of the the pitch which limits its abillity somewhat. the lockup on the video and app crash was also dissapointing, but for the company this is also a chance to see real world experiances and a chance to maybe act on the feedback you can give them, and maybe like all the others need and thats add a mesh grill to stop objects getting stuck in those bottom props cause lets face it if they add mesh and that gets blocked then a quick blast of the props in the other direction would clear it and thats a site better than dissableing it completely. as always its a thumbs up from me and i look forward to the next video.
Awesome! Right from the start you gave us a botanical lesson and I didnt know eucalyptus trees grew over there. Bit of trivia, they are the only leaves our Koalas in Australia eta. Top vid mate.
Imagine installing some kind of 3d scanner on the front so that as you look around, it's building a 3d map of the bottom, allowing you to plan your search route better
I liked the other submersible you used in the last mavic recovery video more than this one. It seemed to have better controllability and the lighting was better. What is your choice? which one do you like the best?
Careful eating unknown fern tips. I chewed on a tiny one outside my house in WA state once years ago. Never swallowed it... Tasted bitter. 4 hours later in the middle of my day, my peripheral vision in both eyes began graying out. It slowly got worse over another hour, taking more and more of my vision, as it closed in toward the center. I was terrified. Finally after another hour, I could detect improvement. Another 2 hours till I was back to normal. I identified the fern I tasted as a Bracken Fern, known to be toxic... and carcinogenic. Even contaminating surrounding soil with it's toxin. Causes something called "bright blindness" in sheep... activity of the toxin on the retinal blood supply is the mechanism. I'm very thankful I didn't actually eat more, and swallow it. I can't imagine what might have happened if I had! Lesson learned!
Thanks for another great tech review and adventure, Dustin. I visit Maui from time to time and really enjoy your videos as they take me back to your special island. Also, your kids are amazingly helpful and get to learn how important attention to detail and performance discipline are to achieving success. You mentioned that part of the Fifish start up sequence is to establish and maintain a level attitude during operation which means that there is some type of mechanical pitch/roll mechanism built into the sub that can be controlled by sensors and software. With proper hardware/software modification perhaps the pilot could access that capability to control pitch and roll which would overcome a seriously negative aspect of an otherwise awesome piece of gear. Aloha. Jess
I hope I am wrong. But I am inclined to believe that it has been picked up by someone already. It shouldn't be that difficult to find since the pool isn't very big. The most effective way is to have a scuba diving friend to go down and look thoroughly. Good luck!
hello Dustin!, thanks for all your great video testing the underwater drones! after evaluating the various models including this first P3, my choice goes out to this P3 for its camera capabilities in murky water use... however it lacks the pitch conctrol but hopefully the better 4K clearer vision more than outweigh the maneuverability of the V6.
man I wonder if you're ever gonna find the mavic. it would be crazy to see if after all of this time, if you found it, if it would be salvageable. Awesome video as always!
Dustin your mavic pro is in there at 28.35 have the video paused exactly at that time and you can see the front of the mavic pro like the sensor part at very right bottom of screen
I think I can see it at 28:35, but its covered in algae. You can make out the X shape of it, and you can kinda see one that the lower left props are intact. At one point you even bump into the arm of it haha
At 23.17 there’s a rock with a black spot on top, for a split second it looked a bit like a mav battery Just as Dustin says “ is that a leaf, “ then floats over it towards the leaf
Great submerge video Dustin. I think I'll stick to flying machines lol. Fingers crossed you find your Mavic. Get another sub for your daughter and you both can search at the same time? Lol. Nice adventure though buddy. :)
fifish should really get image stabilisation in the next model. Maybe like parrot drones just use a fisheye (...) lens and software stabilisation, also would be able to "tilt" the cam. Would buy this one in a second.
People go diving in places like that, specifically to collect lost devices, such as your beautiful drone. They prob go like Sunday nights with flashlights. Your vids have been fun and helpful. Thanks for sharing! 😎
I thought you might be in hawaii. Fantastic that you are teaching your daughter what foods can be eaten and to eat them so fresh, yummy and good for you two. aloha
Wow Dustin... ginger flowers.. fern tips.. yes sir!!! What a way to spend the day sir.. and really important is how you spend time with family, that’s what it’s all about friend!!. Teaching..the submersible is just crazy.. yes sir, much better in the ocean.. glad the props didn’t get burned out.. definitely one to maybe keep on the back burner?.. man that water level gezzzzz!.. well, sorry you didn’t find the Mavic, but what a day you had with your family that was awesome and what a payment.. hotdogs and ice creams!! Watch your step there😂😂😂😂
Wow this video was great, Love the way you explore, next time I go to Hawaii I know what to eat when I'm hiking... Great stuff. This one did better in this water, but still sucks you cant pitch camera to view what you want.
Thanks Dustin I've been waiting for this video I to bad that you did not fine the mavic but it was a very nice trip. Camera is very good on the sub Thanks again
I would love one of these. There’s a lake near me where all the disgruntled fiancés chuck their engagement rings. Plus there’s some huge fish in there that I’d love to see.
Hi bud great video, I'm glad that Deep Trekker are sending you a sub, I sent them an email with a link to one of your videos, asking them to check your videos out and to send you one for testing, I have the older model and love it, I have some of the videos from it on my channel. I have been testing the Gladius out in my garden pool, I had some trouble with the first one I received, so they replaced it with the mark 2, so far so good, but I did suggest that they should mount the camera at a slight angle, so the camera is facing down slightly to see a greater percentage of the ground. I'm working away at the moment, but hoping to do some sea trials soon and posting the results on my youtube channel. looking forward to more adventures.
That was great loved looking under water. Dustin you might want to invest in those gps disks, like the ones you put on your car keys and put them on your drones?
Hi Dustin. im sure i spotted your mavic pro! Its in the time frame 00 :17:50 its in the 3rd part of the frame at the bottom in the background of the image you can clearly see what what looks like the body and 2 arms either side its lying" face down" covered in silt though.its very easy to miss! you have keep pausing the video and you will eventually see it. I my be wrong?? but run through your footage and check! Hope you find it. Great video though!! im thinking of getting one of these subs Take care.
Do you know if anyone makes a self inflating miniature float that is activated by water or pressure to put on drones? All I could think of when you couldn't get the sub to surface was giant squid and the Nautilus! Would be nice if they just made the camera on a pan and tilt.
Cool vid, not boring at all if you're in to exploring. I liked the hike in too, didn't know you're interested in wild edibles etc. So what if you would have found the Mavic, do you think there's anything on there that salvageable after this time in the water or is it more to keep the river clean? Cheers!
At this point finding the Mavic is just a hopeful outcome while testing the subs in this type of environment 👍. It would be a paperweight by now but interesting to see if I could get it working at all 😊✌️
At 27min 28 seconds there was a quick flash of something right in the center of the screen looked to be between the rocks there looked like it was right color for mavic pro
Really good video Dustin, I enjoyed the journey and I know that you wanted to use and review the sub. I have one question though and I certainly have never scuba dived but would it be possible to use scuba gear and dive down yourself to try and find the mavic?
Nice videos of searching under water. But you should really get a camera with stabilization to use on land.. a waterproof ofcourse.. with a floating frame ;)
This is nicer camera on this one but dustin I think when you done a review on the titan,I believe it would be better an then you could've put the arm on if you spotted your mavic, just saying with the extra motors an ability to tilt up an down better as you go forward.
At 27:28 you can see the silver camera gimble on magic !
Hope u get it.
@23:50 Prawn encounters ROV then scoots off and tells his buddies that he's seen an alien craft and they all laugh and call him crazy.
😂🍻
how could you not like Dustin .. mans so cool and relaxed and honest .. and seems to be a great dad also. great vid again pal
Welp, I've done driving things, then moved to flying things, and recently got into floating things. Now I want an underwater thing. My wife, "thanks you"...Haha!
BuckeyeStorms LMBO
19:54 Tahitian prawn: "By right of salvage, your Mavic drone is mine, just like this log!"
lol
why so cute you have a daughter and she loves to follow where you go, such a great family
23:17 100% sure that's your mavic right there. Look at the small perfect circle in the middle of the "rock". That's the battery.
What an amazing place to live. Thank you for your videos, been hooked for weeks since discovering this channel.
what can i say other than a great video review..honest and to the point. But totally agree that seeing how much that terrain has altered since you last went there with the gladius sure shows how much volume of water has gone through.....keep em coming..!!!
This is awesome father daughter time! Great video.
Fun trip with your daughter, 20,000 leagues under the waterfall, LOL! Thanks for sharing.
do you know talon carpenter
I see nature from your video, especially the underwater part. The drone is really cool!
I agree
The algae is way too prolific to get much joy out of this sub/drone. Also you really need one with some sort of gimbal camera. Good try though Justin.
Re: your comment at 24:15. This video is not boring at all. You are showing us the capabilities of this drone. What use is a sub/drone if you can't search for something?
Hiking with flip flops, my kind of dude
Great to see you and your daughter hiking, teaching her about edible (and non-edible plants lol). Very cool. Keep it up!
That was a long way from being boring......what a wonderful pondscape
These underwater excursions are my favorite! I'm really looking forward to your next one. I also liked that it was kind of a vlog. Can't say I'm a big fan of the Fifish. The lack of pitch really ruins it for me.

Great Video, Happy fourth of July to ya 🇺🇸💥💥💥🙂
I really like you Dustin. Your videos are fascinating no matter what the subject. You come across as a super nice chill guy.
I really enjoy these underwater adventures. Excellent video Dustin!!
Bless your heart, you have the best toys !
13:39 on the right next to the rock, is that a drone leg?
yeah i saw that
I saw that at the time, looks exactly like the tip of the blade?
Nice video sir. Always informative. You are lucky to have a daughter that will do those things with you. Cheers man
I have work as ROV pilot for since 2005 and the hole game is to lean how to flying the ROV, stay of the seabet. Drop the 4k and if you can turn the light up/down that will help you.
Looks like it also needs a way to set neutral buoyancy so it would hover at a given depth without floating to the top or sinking to the bottom.
great video dustin, every time you search im watching with my fingers crossed, thats a shame about the pitch on the sub, i would suggest they add some software like the parrot bebop drone where the camera can pitch without the actual craft pitching or the camera phisicaly moving, otherwise i cant see a way they can make it any better with the control of the the pitch which limits its abillity somewhat. the lockup on the video and app crash was also dissapointing, but for the company this is also a chance to see real world experiances and a chance to maybe act on the feedback you can give them, and maybe like all the others need and thats add a mesh grill to stop objects getting stuck in those bottom props cause lets face it if they add mesh and that gets blocked then a quick blast of the props in the other direction would clear it and thats a site better than dissableing it completely. as always its a thumbs up from me and i look forward to the next video.
Hi Dustin and little helper great job Sanaiya I like the other sub better more options I think. cool video brother Dustin like your reviews a lot.
17:00 right side of video between the round road and the wall that looks like a GoPro
Yeah split second the back side of a gopro
There was a gopro in the previous search and rescue video as well, but he didn't spot it. He said it in the video as well.
Nice way to teach your child how to survive in the wilderness...if regular food becomes unavailable and you become lost when going camping or hiking.
Cool video, I'm a big van of ROV doves from NOAA, Schmidt & Nautilus, looks like fun to take to a lake. Thanks for doing these reviews.
Awesome! Right from the start you gave us a botanical lesson and I didnt know eucalyptus trees grew over there. Bit of trivia, they are the only leaves our Koalas in Australia eta. Top vid mate.

I enjoyed that little adventure ! The curse of the Mavic Lol , thanks & Regards.
I wish you would find it...that would be very cool if it worked again after you let it sit in rice..it would be the coolest episode ever...
Still looking 👍😂
6:28 why did you clean the lens? Was there a drop of Water? 😆
I liked the other submersible you used in the last mavic recovery video more than this one. It seemed to have better controllability and the lighting was better. What is your choice? which one do you like the best?
I just got one I think will be best 😁. Testing and videos soon 🍻

If you search during winter, visibility will be much higher. Unless you were to live somewhere crazy like... Hawaii... or something!
At 23.17 there’s a rock with a black spot on top, for a split second it looked a bit like a mav battery
Just as Dustin says “ is that a leaf, “ then floats over it towards the leaf
It does look like it. Maybe Mavic is partially burried. Time for magnet fishing? 😅
Great submerge video Dustin. I think I'll stick to flying machines lol. Fingers crossed you find your Mavic. Get another sub for your daughter and you both can search at the same time? Lol. Nice adventure though buddy. :)

Really enjoying this series...I refuse to read comments because I want to see if you find it lol..hope so
The water is much clearer than last time
People go diving in places like that, specifically to collect lost devices, such as your beautiful drone. They prob go like Sunday nights with flashlights. Your vids have been fun and helpful. Thanks for sharing! 😎
did you ever manage to get it back?
Never found it 😔😐🙂😁✌️
@@DustinDunnill pls look at 27: 28 in the video it's there, silver thingy look it's there.
I know what you mean but it sounded funny that you didn't want your submarine to get wet :-D
I thought you might be in hawaii. Fantastic that you are teaching your daughter what foods can be eaten and to eat them so fresh, yummy and good for you two. aloha
Wow eating honey nectar! I have not did that since my childhood days and I'm 38!
Wow Dustin... ginger flowers.. fern tips.. yes sir!!! What a way to spend the day sir.. and really important is how you spend time with family, that’s what it’s all about friend!!. This is a really enjoyable hike and and very rewarding once at the river 😅👍
deep topics are my favs. Cool.

Very kewl...what a beautiful place. Is that on the back side Halleakula? Love your vids....
13:49 “were looking for a magic pro arm”
*sets sub down on top of drone*
I would love one of these. There’s a lake near me where all the disgruntled fiancés chuck their engagement rings. Plus there’s some huge fish in there that I’d love to see.
Looks like Parrot need to develop an Anafi similar to the Anafi Thermal but for finding things underwater!
Hi bud

Dustin you might want to invest in those gps disks, like the ones you put on your car keys and put them on your drones?
You should somehow attach a remote metal detector to an ROV and you could find some stuff easier (possible the mavic)
Looks like you are a great dad 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wonder if the vertical propellers can be reversed, so the one responsible for upward motion isn't in danger of drinking a pebble.
For such a relatively small pond, it's been remarkably difficult to find your drone.
It has been. I have a feeling the deep trekker will really do well and it has a remote grabber arm!. I'll be reviewing it soon 👍
after all your underwaterdrones, wich one is best?
Hi Dustin.
im sure i spotted your mavic pro!
Its in the time frame 00 :17:50 its in the 3rd part of the frame at the bottom in the background of the image you can clearly see what what looks like the body and 2 arms either side its lying" face down" covered in silt though.its very easy to miss! you have keep pausing the video and you will eventually see it.

you should do more adventures with your daughder like in the start of the video.
Do you know if anyone makes a self inflating miniature float that is activated by water or pressure to put on drones? All I could think of when you couldn't get the sub to surface was giant squid and the Nautilus! Would be nice if they just made the camera on a pan and tilt.
O yea it's summer time so some water RC model would be nice to have for holidays at sea. :)
This is pretty cool amazing equipment
Turn off all apps and processes that your not using and I guarantee that tab will work fine.
at 15:17 there is an object- looks like an older style camera or small purse?
Good find. Looks like a small purse to me. Wish I would have seen it while filming 👍
yeah, looks more like a purse.. question being, what is it doing there?
Can you believe it. After watching you eat weird things i thought you gonna eat that moss too!
Great video as always!... But no search and "rescue"
Cool vid, not boring at all if you're in to exploring. I liked the hike in too, didn't know you're interested in wild edibles etc. So what if you would have found the Mavic, do you think there's anything on there that salvageable after this time in the water or is it more to keep the river clean? At 27min 28 seconds there was a quick flash of something right in the center of the screen looked to be between the rocks there looked like it was right color for mavic pro
I seen that too. it looked like a camera on a mavic or a gopro.
Tarp...Fire starter..Multi tool...Up here in S.E.Alaska we call those ferns "Fiddleheads"
Really nice, dude. Great video! 😊
They should have put a mesh on the top and bottom of the motors to keep from getting anything in it
If you found the drone do you think it would still work? If not then why look for it or an excuse to play with your toy sub.
This is comfy as. How did you learn what you can and can't eat?
Born and raised here 👍
Very nice! Did you ever find your drone?
Would be nice if the sub has a build in metal detector to narrow the search.
Really good video Dustin, I enjoyed the journey and I know that you wanted to use and review the sub. I have one question though and I certainly have never scuba dived but would it be possible to use scuba gear and dive down yourself to try and find the mavic?
Gregory Hall yes, scuba is possible. I just need to hike in with it 👍
think i seen it @16:56 poking out some silt? (right of frame, just above left of fifish word)
Not boring...
cleaning lenses:)
nice review man!
Enjoyed, your mavic must be a green by know, camouflage
Hi which submarine is the best for you?
Nice videos of searching under water. But you should really get a camera with stabilization to use on land.. a waterproof ofcourse.. with a floating frame ;)
At 13:37 kinda looks like an upside down mavic leg sticking up maybe...?
Nah it's a sick lol
Ya ever find it?
This is nicer camera on this one but dustin I think when you done a review on the titan,I believe it would be better an then you could've put the arm on if you spotted your mavic, just saying with the extra motors an ability to tilt up an down better as you go forward.
Was waiting for a Skull to appear...
