I think during research you missed a simple option in Jio. If you had converted your jio prepaid to postpaid, pay a minimum rent of Rs 235 per month, you will be able to call India at 2 rupees per min, receive calls from India at same rate, also make a local call to the roaming country at the same rate. I used this in Japan 5 years ago and it worked well for me. I used to answer calls from Friends and relatives from there and also used mobile internet.

For vodafone the international roaming is enabled by default , no IR pack needed. Just keep the minimum balance(and ensure you do not pick any calls or cut a call once you in UK as it would result in deduction)
I am additional paying 2000 pm to receive calls in my Airtel prepaid card after 365 days international roaming pack of 2997. This apart the incoming call rate is 100 per minute
False information Jio international roaming can be easily activated from Jio App with any pack just need to maintain balance and call rate is 2 rs per minute
No pack required if it's a jio post paid connection.

Hello, yes vodafone will work. Just have the international roaming enabled and you must have some active plan to receive otps.

Which provider you talking about? If its voda then for starters 500 should be fine. But that said voda is more expensive than jio as its deduction monthly has increased just to keep the number active for otps. So i would suggest get jio and rem to enable international roaming on before you come.
Does Jio work in Scotland? If i take the 336 days/1559 plan
Yea it worked for us . Just ensure to turn on international roaming from jio app. But i would still suggest do a monthly recharge first and then go for yearly once you in Scotland. As you can recharge from anywhere p

Hi, I am in Austria right now, before leaving india i recharged an my VI sim card with an international roaming for one day but i cannot see any networks in my phone here. Could you please confirm if VI works in Austria or not? If yes then i can recharge for the minimum balance and continue using my incoming otp’s. Please help me on that i am really struggling with this right now.

@@user-dx4nj1nf8w yes, in your phone settings go to your mobile data>network selection>turn off the automatic and then you will see some local networks being listed, select anyone depending upon the range. Also, turn off volte and switch to 4g or may be 3g(4g should work btw) and make sure you have turned on the data roaming. Try rebooting the phone and it should work. If still issue persists you connect to the customer care representative on chat on vi app, they will surely assist you😊

Yes airtel works in china , u can receive otps without any extra recharge. Only condition is that your sim must have an active plan.

Enable international roaming in the jio app first and then recharge with 155 or any other plan. If you need to receive and make calls internationally then only IR packs are needed else base pack with active IR works for OTP.

Hi, you can find the 155 recharge inside value section of recharge in the my jio app if not that you can also recharge with 179 one. Also ensure you have enabled international roaming from settings.

We do the top up recharge of 500(talktime 500) from which they deduct certain amount monthly .

No sufficient balance needed for jio . Just ensure to keep number active while you travelling to UK ..later recharging every month for otp is not needed

Heya, have enabled international roaming for your number? If not you can do that by going to settings page of my jio app and then recharge with any minimum recharge . I am using Lebara too

Have you recharged ? If yes then in your phone network setting keep the options as automatically select network.

Yes you can port from jio to VI. But jio works fine in UK once International roaming is enabled and its also cheaper than VI .

Getting phone from india would be fine. Here there are repair shops which can fix them incase any trouble . Having the phone that supports NFC would be great as it helps contactless payment which is widely used here.

Even we were told same , but we didnt take or recharged with 1200 roaming recharge. Just check on your my jio app whether international roaming is enabled or no.
If international roaming is enabled. Try to search for network manually from settings
