It's so amazing to see this. I was never a Bonchan or Sagat fan, but seeing these 2 together... I can't explain it but it just feels right.

Agree completely. Two players using characters they're just completely at home with? Also, they were loose and having a bit of fun. Some dumb plays, some perfect ones.. just a good match. Bonchan had some seriously tight plays.
Year from now bonchan sagat will be a bully. I remember when tokido akuma dropped. Took him a year to perfect and now look. I like seeing these guys get their favs and enjoy playing with them.

I bet Bonchan's sponsors told him to use Sagat as much as he can. This would bring more people to watch his fights. Even if he loses, it's so hype that it would bring a perfect balance between money and people happy. I'm sure that's a pretty good thing for everyone

Miguel Flores with mid tier match ups yeah but top tiers like akuma or anyone with a very fast pressure game, sagats normals are too slow and his zoning is not that great either
Watersports he has the best zoning in the game, period. Guile is a close second
Watersports I agree he struggles with serious pressure but you have to be on point with anti airs. If you can reset the match back into neutral he becomes strong, have to be good with fireball timing and dp. I'm not saying hes top tier, but I've heard people say he his bad as sakura and nash

Hyoubou relax man, I agree with you I think sagat is better then most people think. I guess my post wasn't written well enough. I'm currently using sagat and I like him a lot and think hes really good. He doesnt have big comeback factor, and slow buttons but his fundamentals are better then every other character. I think hes really good, hopefully that was a better explanation for you

8:20 HE HAVE IT HERE, I dont know if Bonchan knows this, cause Sagat is super new, but EX TIGER UPPERCUT beat clean air projectiles, that round was Bonchan if he only knew he could have go to top 8 with Sagat, anyway the fact that Bonchan put TOKIDO in match point using Sagat proves the character is not weak as people say, still is a work in progress so yes Capcom can buff him a little bit, but the King is defined strong in this game.
Kusanagikaiser999 its also week 2 of Sagat being out vs a year 2 Akuma of Akumas, Tokido in fact.
The fact he managed to force a game 3 with that new of a character shows also Bonchan's foundational understanding of both character and game. Don't take away the fact that this is Sagat of Sagat's getting back on the groove. It'll take time, but he's far along already.

At 10:12 the commenantors are misleading you guys , sagat can’t combo anything from that range from st mk into VT cancel if it’s not a counter . He could have used st lp to combo but you can see he’s too far away to so his best bet was to try to throw

Isso é só uma pequena prévia do que vem pela frente, podem anotar, Bonchan vai calar a boca de muita gente com o Sagat, ele bateu de frente com o Tokido com apenas 2 semanas de treinamento com 1 personagem novo, perdeu porque teve medo de arriscar mais um pouco, justamente por ainda não estar nem 50% de sua performance com Sagat, ano que vem prevejo Bonchan vencendo alguns torneios capcom.

It's sad that Bonchan had to wait for his main character for 3 years. Just think how strong he would of been with Sagat if they would of put Sagat in on release day is Sfv. The way these gaming companies do they business practices now really hurt player's that are character loyalist. It's one of the reason I don't play Sfv and other fighting games. I'm happy for Bonchan and I hope he feels good about the way they did Sagat in Sfv.
But then the game wouldn't last this long if they did. Capcom should put MenaRD in a Cammy thong costume on the front cover. That'll get people to buy the game.
With sfv gameplay design, sagat and ryu will always be mid tier...

When there are so many shitty commentators it's bound to happen.
Zhi is great... to me at least. I can get people not liking his commentary style though. He tries his best to make it fun, slipping some running gags or inner jokes inbetween the match. Just that it doesn't always work.
This guy is using references that is he is clueless about. And he can't even pronounce a long-time street fighter player like Bonchan? (Especially since he is supposedly fluent in Japanese.) Come on now! He butchered his name to sound like "bonechan" at least once in this video alone.

Man, Bonchan killed it in this match but lord, Sagat's throw range in this game right now is a real issue. He was right up against Akuma and it still whiffed.

Paul Muad'dib this is week 2 of the character being out vs Akuma whos been out for 2 years and is being played by a veteran of the MU and character. Im not sure what more you could have expected from such a short timespan.
Well you can see the difference of the characters, sagat has a very big disadvantage, akumas normals are very op while sagats are too slow....sagat should have been the zoning character yet akuma outzoned him with fireballs.....this is why a lot of people hat sfv
Watersports i will retort with the fact Tokido has been playing and honing this character for a good two years vs Bonchan at 2 weeks. Even with how experienced Bon is in SF in general it takes time to get used to it. Sagat actually had longer range normals than Akuma and normal fireballs don't travel full screen while Sagat's does forcing commitment of red fireball.
Sagat will be the zoner but you seem not to give him ample time to develop. Besides, if Bon/sagat was winning handily against Tokido. I bet you would say that Sagat has potential to be top tier/he's broken. So there's no real connection to hating SFV based on that.
Damn bonchan dropped some confirms. He was out playing tokido all game, but he just choked up at the end of rounds. From how well he did against tokido I’dbe surprised if bonchan dropped sagat.

Akuma e sua bagagem cheia de ferramentas, Cmp e Smk , Cmk que a hitbox vai bem longe , seu Bhp que serve como Dp e ainda tem juggle e fora seu Dflip que tem varias opções de atack e que da hit em Ex quando esta perto, ate que o sagat só andando para trás e se defendendo durou na luta.

I genuinely wonder how Sagat's zoning will fare against the characters with projectile invincible v-skills. Akuma doesn't have one. . . I'm truly curious to see how Sagat's zoning works against say Balrog, Cammy, Karin, Laura etc.

Not crazy about Sagat's look nor his gameplay. The design looks unimaginative, and his gameplay looks old. Not sure what I would've done as a designer and programmer of the character though I'll admit. If you change his look and gameplay too much, he wouldn't be e recognizable nor familiar to traditional fans. Still though, I think that's what makes the difference between godlike designers who take SMART chances, versus those who play it safe. I would've like to have seen a fresh look for Sagat, as well as intuitive gameplay. A fantastic designer would've found the unique balance to make it work.
I feel the same way about Ryu, Ken got the rushdown attack. Akuma got variations of air fireballs and some new ground moves.....Ryu nothing

Really just feels like G and Sagat are at least top 10. G at least being top 5, overamped up dlc. At least akuma a tad bit more health, watching very simple combos chunk the fuck out of him and chip damage ruin his life just hurts to watch.
This was a lot more even that I thought. I thought Tokido would curbstomp Bonchan. Not that Bonchan isn't good. He's damn good. But not quite Tokido level.
