Beautiful! How good it is that through the Bahamian Monarchy the Bahamas is united to a world-wide, multi national and multi cultural society! GOD save the Queen of the Bahamas!
does anyone know where i can find a video of his earlier anthem, the one we sang at school assemblies prior to 10 july 1973? first verse: "O Columbus sail’d his caravels westward ho, Over seas of mystery To Bahamaland, where southern breezes blow, Land of song and history In his wake came pirates fill’d with plundering zeal, Trade declined on every hand, ‘Til the robbers got the feel of British steel That repelled their wanton band." ... thanks in advance!
@sintorodab I'm going to have to assume that you are a Bahamian such as myself. I know it must be hard to accept ( or even understand ) but its true ,legally speaking our Royal Anthem is "God Save the Queen". Remember we are a Commonwealth Realm which means we share our monarch ( which is currently Queen Elizabeth II) with the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth Realms. Yes we are and independant nation but we decided upon independance in 1973 to retain the Queen as our Head-of-State .
full heartily agree.....i am only 23 and it is my expressed hope that we NEVER become a republic!.....now is the time the stand strong and up hold the monarchy and our monarch....
The Bahamas is not the UK's bitch, you idiot! They have assisted us,for a long time and give us as much respect as there own country! If we were there bitch we would not have our own independence!
No, it is the royal anthem of the Bahamas, which just happens to also be the royal anthem of Canada, Australia, Canada, Jamaica, and the rest of the Commonwealth Realms.
I am in Florida, and I have never been to the Bahamas, but from what I hear, your government is run the way the US used to be, and it is one of the last TRUE free places, free from socialism. They take care of their people. If Britain tries to re-claim your perfect nation, I'll get in my canoe and come help fight for freedom. But you gotta make me a citizen
BlueWaveDragon XD This comment made me laugh. I'm from the Bahamas, thanks for your offer. The British are still our head of state since we are part of the Commonwealth though. If you want to be a citizen you can apply the normal way, lel.
