Thank you so much to the next door neighbor who, around 1969, left The Ventures' albums Surfing and Play Guitar with the Ventures on his back patio when he moved out for 8 year old me to find. I played Surfing over and over and still do now, after recording it onto a CD I can listen to in my car
Every guitar player has played this tune. But the Ventures with Peter do it right.
Another beautiful rendition by another great band. Much respect ❤
Thanks for watching!
I learned to play drums by listening and playing along to my dad's Ventures albums.
Rest in peace, Nokie Edwards...thank you for the music, sir!
Yoshie Hill Nokie Edwards is dead? WTF
@@blazingtatsumaki Sadly he passed awhile back. Now maybe,he & Bob are together.💖

Is that Peter Frampton

Just dont make songs like this or there arent any groups like this any more. What a blast from the past this is

Amazing 🎉
Best instrumental no ever.
Thanks for watching and comment.
Damn great! Love the Ventures-Peter Frampton just complimented them. As they say "WALK DONT RUN"!
Peter Frampton looks so excited to play with the Ventures.
ultimate guitar band

Just such a great video. I love Framptons enthusiasm(as well as Max Weinbergs in other videos). As great as Frampton and Weinberg are, it was clearly an honor for them to be with these legendary musicians. Great to watch. Better to listen to.
Smoooooooooooooooooth!
The Ventures driving beat tends to get one in trouble with Ohio State Highway Patrol! I was driving down US Route 36 heading west out of Newcomerstown, OH blaring this song on my CD player and completely missed the sound of my fuzzbuster going off!
The Ventures Greatest Hits Album back in the 60's was just flat awesome to listen to. Now we have headphones to really capture the sound. Outstanding instrumental group!
J'adore
What a career these guys have had, fantastic.
Awesome!
Harika harika
This is not the original one. This is a stage show. Perhaps in 1969 I first listened the original music. This is an evergreen and amazing music for all the time.
I think of Clint Eastwood and his spaghetti movies when I hear this song.
Eccellente.....👍👌
Ever smiling band. They make beautiful music and they really enjoy playing. Superb.
Thanks for watching and comment
60 năm trước tôi đã được nghe hàng ngày vào giờ trưa trên radio đài sài gòn.
wow, I'm surprised how good Framton sounded with them, he blended quite well.
+demonic sweaters yes, Frampton also plays guitar superbly well. thanks for watching and comment
I am A Shadows fan who first recorded apache in 1960 I maintain that both versions are equally good because they play in different styles so you cannot say one is better then the other
Well said!! Indeed I love both the Ventures and the Shadows. thanks for watching and comment!
Cheers
@museack That's one stupid comment! Anyone with half a brain knows they can enjoy both bands, which I certainly do! By the way,the original by Jorgen Ingman was the best,in my opinion only!💖
@rte66byhd The Shadows recorded it in June 1960 and it was an instant No.1 hit.
It was meant to be The Shadows launch record in the USA, but Jorgen Ingmann's cover was released in the USA in 1961 before The Shadows could get their's released by anyone, as American record company's didn't really want to release UK artists' records onto the American market, as very few UK artists had any success before The Beatles....even Cliff Richard had little US success before "Devil Woman" in the mid 70's !.
As far as I'm concerned Apache is my favourite SHADOWS record.
No words 2 express sweet melody
touched my soul ,simply great.
good
Man they sound so great with that extra guitar since Peter Frampton is playing it so awesome
One of THE great guitarists end off and very underrated, his music will live on rest easy Nokie
Timeless. Both songs and the players. They'll live forever.
Thanks for watching and comment
peter frampton having a good time... long live ventures
Thanks for watching and comment!
Frampton grew up listening to the Ventures. When he lived here in Cincinnati for 11 years I was his cab driver many times. Never had such a nice person ride with me!! He said he loved all the old instrumental groups as well as guys like Buddy Holly, Dion and The Belmonts, Bobby Darin. In this video, even though he is already a great star he still has that look on his face that says "WOW, I finally hit the big time", LOL.
I love framptom here ges having a great time performing with his idols😍
Peter Frampton is like a kid with a new toy. He is having so much fun !!
with a nod to Hank Marvin with a red strat :)
@@paulkelcher824 My thought exactly. Frampton would have grown up listening to Shadows tunes and like any British or British Commonwealth kid learning guitar, playing like Marvin was almost mandatory!
I can't help smiling every time I saw his angelic, innocent smile.
Yes and this must have been in the late 80s or there abouts. So he will have been in his late 30s (I was a Herd fan in my teen years). The Ventures formed in 58.
excellent group!I never get tired of listening to his music. Unforgettable!
Ôi hay qúa là hay
What a fantastic display of electric guitars...played so beautifully..just mesmerizing
The Rhythm guitarist obsessed with using the tremolo.
Love this! You're right, Frampton is having a total blast!
He should be, he’s in the presence of rock and roll royalty!
I've seen him live a few times and he always has a blast ... the grin doesn't leave his face for an entire show!
Dos grandes leyendas del rock los inmortales Ventures y el maestro Peter Frampton woooow!!!
wouah Many souvenirs for me I heard this music in Saigon during the Viet Nam war.
Charles: I had it put on my 7inch Tape in 66 in Vung Tau
As a Vietnamese person I miss this golden, catchy rhythm
I love you...
Rick Derringers accounting of his group “The McCoy’s” is a one of the coolest testimonials to the life giving power of rock n roll ever. I loved listening to “Hang on Sloopy,” over and again. Apache to me was in the Surf Music era and had something of the Dick Dale guitar styling going for it
I like of this excellent Music Apache, My congrats and Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year.
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas to you too!
beautiful song

I LOVE BOTH GROUPS. THEY ARE LEGENDS IN THEIR OWN RIGHTS.
1966 I was 10 yrs old and listening to my 16 yr old sisters albums. Always love the Ventures! Her boyfriends were all Fonzie types one guy gave me a ride in his brand NEW 1966 Chevy Impala, I will never forget that new car smell! long live the Ventures!
We are about the same age. In the 60s, when we went to cinema, they very often broadcast the Ventures music before the movie. Thanks for watching and comment!
Mike-Smoke they dont make cars like they used to

Written by Englishman Jerry Lordon. First played by Burt Weedon, but Lordon did not like his version. Lordeon played Apache on a Ukulele while supporting the Shadows on tour and both agreed that it was perfect for them. The Shadows recorded it in June 1960 and it was an instant No.1 hit.
It was meant to be The Shadows launch record in the USA, but Jorgen Ingmann's cover was released first in the US in 1961. So it never happened. The Ventures cover was released in 1962.
Jerry Lordon wrote a number of hits for The Shadows.
I prefer Jorgen Ingmann's version over all others and the Ventures is almost identical to Ingmann's!

Bob Bogle was such a good sport--relinquishing the Lead Guitar spot for the Bass. What a guy! Nokie was a great virtuoso on the guitar, but I liked Bob Bogle's sound and feel a lot better.
Frampton comes alive with Ventures awesome

The Ventures é uma banda instrumental estadunidense formada inicialmente como The Versatones em 1958 por Bob Bogle e Don Wilson, em Tacoma, Washington.
É conhecida por seus clássicos Walk Don't Run, Surf Rider, Journey To The Star, Driving Guitars, Yellow Jacket e Bumble Bee Twist.
Love the popped collar and Members Only jacket on Bob Bogle!
He could use a longer chord too! These guys rule!
Jerry lordan British songwriter wrote this song , Burt weedon was the 1st to record this song and the shadows ,released their own version which spent five weeks at number one in the UK in 1960.
Wow!! I didn't know Richard Petty was in the Ventures!!!
Respect and admiration to the Ventures and the Shadows. Thanks for your music.

Salve, : All’Epoca ero indeciso se acquistare dello splendido Brano Musicale, la versione 45 giri ( mono ), degli The Shadows, oppure quella dei The Ventures.- Optai per il Complesso inglese.- Oggi mi pento, poiché negli anni che seguirono, il chitarrista solista Hank, licenziava a ripetizione i Bassisti ( ben quattro ), mentre l’Organico dei The Ventures, sia pur rimaneggiato, conservava i principali ed originari fondatori del Gruppo stesso.- Aldo, per hobby, “one Man Band”, Songwriter, ( Music and Lyrics ).- A Tutti, auguro un felice Anno nuovo, anno Domini.-
I’m rollin on floor about that Hang On Sloopy story!!! That’s awesome!! Good ole RUclips!

Nice try, but the song should be like the desert air it was written to eulogize: Dry, arid, sandy, not much ado. Instead, what we have is a bunch of crazy, colorful sounds. It just takes away from the spirit of the song. I don't like it. Go back to the old!!!! : - 0
Great memories...& it’s refreshing to see cool guys with hair ...nowadays all you see is baldies 🙂
timeless.....The Ventures has shown the magic with the guitars...

Why is Bob Bogle, the ventures greatest guitarists playing bass?, Bob is the sound that we all know, it's Bob I want to hear playing lead Guitar, the sound I was brought up with.
I also love The Ventures all the songs they play it's wonderful.
The drummer sure looks like his dad!! ;-)
