Every road trip, I always bring a obd2 scanner, a quart of every fluid (coolant,brake fluid, atf and oil) and a jump starter, you never know what’s gonna happen
Don't forget a good floor jack and 4 way tire iron

Next time, key cycle three times quickly without starting the engine and the cluster will display any codes that are stored (for Chrysler vehicles). That way even if you don't have a scanner on you, you can still read the codes stored in the srt.

These trucks will show the codes on the dash no scanner needed. Just Cycle the key on and off 3 times and on the 3rd leave it on and they show on dash 👍

Tip with Chrysler Dodge jeep products you can read the codes by cycling the key acc to ignition three times fast ending with ignition on and it will show you the codes on the dash.
Even works on 94 jeeps.

PSA: 90s and early 2000s MOPAR products have a built in fault code display in the odometer. Quickly key on to position 2 then off and do it twice more and on the last cycle keep it forward and it'll display the codes stored. For the thermostat efficiency fault there's a 15 minute timer from engine on to what should be full operating temp, if it's cold outside then there's a chance you won't hit operating temp and it'll throw a light if the thermostat hasn't been replaced in a few years. If you drive it 5 or 6 times and it gets to temp fine each time it'll clear the light by itself.

Tip: try to pour the oil down the dipstick it will run down and make zero mess you can you the whole length of the dipstick if you wanted you’ll be surprised how well it works! Since you and Poe seem to have issues draining oil😂😂😂 maybe filling it will be a little less messy for you lol

Hey Gavin I myself own a 3rd gen ram 2004 base model 4.7… At 1:20 Dodge actually thought ahead for that problem and if you cycle the key to the on position 3 times really quick and cycle a 4th time and leave it on it’ll actually display the code on the left side of the dash where your mileage is same thing for gauge recalibration you hold the trip button while cycling the key to the on position w/o starting and it’ll recalibrate the gauge cluster and let you know if something is wrong with the gauge cluster
Them 8.1 liter big block Chevy 494 ci motors are literally bulletproof!
The viper v10 has an odd thermostat setup. And Chrysler products have always had issues with thermostats lol. I’ve replaced a couple of them just this week.

Picked up my 2004 mustang cobra from Panhandle Performance back in 2006 after a full rebuild and boost build. It didn’t make it out of Florida headed to Biloxi MS before it completely ate it self. Don’t get work done by Panhandle Performance in Panama City FL.

Mobil 1 15-50 is recomended over the 0-40. Updated in the 06s I believe. Yes the burn oil. I have one since 12k miles and now at about 22k. I freaked out at the beginning but asked in srt groups and its normal to burn some oil

For the fellow dodge/Chrysler/jeep people, if you take the key, take to on (not start, one click before that) then off, on off on, ending at on, it will display pcm fault codes on the odometer. It’s gotta be done in under like 5 seconds. So that’s on off on off on. It will say done when it’s done. For older vehicles under this manufacture umbrella, it will use the check engine light to flash codes at you.
Also, to test the cluster, hold the trip reset button and turn the key on, it will test all the telltales and gauges in a sequence.
Just figured I’d share this knowledge to anyone who wants it.

Hey it’s alright I got a v10 2nd gen with the magnum 8.0 v10 and drove it 5,500 miles in 5 days and when I got home legit within the last 30 miles I took a sharp turn and my oil pressure hit zero for a moment, topped it off and of the 7.3 quarts it holds it was 4.5 quarts low, that was 30,000 miles ago and everything is good

Checked oil, nothing
Dropped 5 MF qts before it was back on the dipstick… less than 2 weeks after getting it serviced at castle rock ford in Colorado…

About a year ago I had to put 8 quarts into my Mustang that holds 10. I don't know where the oil went but it was running fine, just none on the dipstick lol

I have a Carly code reader in two cars at all times. How the hell do you do a road trip and or not bring one when tripping any car? Also have my air / battery jumper under the seat plus a 72 PC tire patch kit. Knowing this guys history you’d think he’d be over prepared.

For those dodge trucks if you turn the key one click before starting ignition and back off three times, it gives you the code. Correct me if I'm wrong but I had an old dodge and you can just get the code from the dash.

You know, if you were honest with viewers and disclosed that you are buying these vehicles for cheap because they have issues you would still get good views, probably more views honestly. Ive followed the channel for a while and I know I am not the only one who sees it. Theres no way you're randomly buying lemons every time.
