Cool video! I own a 914 and for anyone who doesn't have or don't want to spend a arm and a leg for one the 414ce-r is a great alternative. ✌️

I never thought I would own a 900 series guitar. Too expensive and the several dozen I’ve played didn’t have a sound that justified the cost. The one thing the 900 series always had was excellent playability, even compared to the other Taylor series of guitars and other makers. It just felt natural and was a pleasure to play, but I could never find that right sound. Until two years ago. I’ve spent years demoing and owning many guitars, but the first time I played the 914 I now own…wow! I’ve even had people who are not Taylor fans remark that something special was happening with this guitar. I like a big and very present sound and the 914 delivers. And the action is unreal. Very low and it takes a very hard strum to get any string buzz. It might take a while to save up for this guitar but it is well worth it.

I bought a 914ce 1 year ago and oh my! What a tone! Sublime, the sustain is insane! Truly on another level, I can play it for hours! It’s addicting. try one! You’ll fall in LOVE! (I also received bought a gs mini koa plus which I love and sounds great 👍 nice and compact with great playability for a fraction of the price, but can’t compare to my full sounding 914ce) the gs mini great for the couch or camping, travel etc. My next guitar is a gt k21!

If you can't hear the differences between an 814ce and 914ce, use earphones. 914ce LTD guitars can come in different tone woods. I have an unsigned Chris McKee signature 914ce LTD with bearclaw Engelmann Spruce top and EI Rosewood back and sides with that fancy banjo (Cindy) inlay fretboard and....just love it and I canreallysing with it. Taylor did a 914ce LTD with sinker redwood top a few years ago. But I still like a Martin CEO-7 especially for singing. Thanks Paul and Quinton.

Lol euh isn't that normal, imagine you buy such a high end expensive guitar and you unluckily get a bad one? But a custom Taylor or Martin is crazy expensive, my fav brand would have it more affordable i think.

  • @rmzzz76

Why couldn't they match the neck wood to the body @2:16 The body and headstock appear to be the same exotic hard woods, the neck a sharp contrasting wood to the body back and sides, appears to be Sapele or Mahagony. I know aesthetics are subjective, but I'm not a fan of this choice... I also feel you get diminishing returns in playablity and tone on Taylor guitars, their 100-300 series offer incredible quality for the money, but I don't feel like once you move past the 300 series you're paying for anything more than ornamentation and exotic materials that bear nominal impact given Taylor's construction techniques.

I ordered 4 of a great luthier here not far to my place. 4 guitars in 27 years. Each one with its own flavor. I gave one to my son, keep 2 of them, and sold one. I still have 7 acoustic guitars each like a different wine (dont forget i'm french)... I also got a "one of a kind" Taylor made of exotic walnut. Headstock like old GS, bought because the orderer could'nt afford to pay the balance. Anyway i feel *this* 914ce sounds so great !
After the video í took and played my 414ce... and found she was great too 😊

The Taylor 914ce is my dream guitar, as a fingerpicker. I could sell all my other guitars, and i own a lot, even my Gibson Hummingbird 2010 Custom shop, all acoustic and electrics, to get that guitar ! To my opinion, in your video, the 8 sound awfull regarding the 9. Anyway thanks for that demo. Three cheers from France.

I just don't find the 900 series aesthetically appealing unfortunately. I have a 414ce-r that's beautiful and I like the look of the new 700 koa series, but the 900s just don't do it for me

  • @johnnyd63

I hate it.I bought a 914CE a few years back and have been totally unimpressed.V class bracing on this small of a body robs most of the bass snap. I compared my 914CE to a Martin HD28 and there is no comparison. 100% selling it and going Martin.
