Hello everyone took my test today 05/02/2024. I passed . Everyone in the class did except for one person. I would say everyone was very much winded after the mile run so I would suggest working in cardio. I was scared about the monkey bars on the obstacle but I’m not gonna lie it was someone timing you and she was very encouraging and really was motivating us to keep pushing so I just kept pushing. The obstacle course wasn’t hard however because I was so winded from the run I literally finished at 1:59… overall if I can do it… you can do it, and I literally quit smoking like a week pior to taking the test soo just imagine how my lungs are …. You guys got this I promise you .

If you’re here about the agility test, it isn’t everything in this video. This is what you have to do in order to graduate the academy. The agility is the obstacle course in 2 mins, 10 pushups, 10 sit-ups, 1/2 mile in 4:30 and trigger pulls on a revolver. I just took the agility test today and passed. I’m a female who has no physical background besides preparing for this test so don’t stress yourself out like I did

Just passed it today! Like some other comments said, it’s only the obstacle course (under 2:00), half mile in under 4:30, ten push ups on little button type thing which make it feel like half reps, ten sit-ups with your elbows going over your knees, then the trigger pulls. It wasn’t too bad at all. There was about 17 or 18 of us there, and only one failed the half mile part. Doing the swim test tomorrow! Good luck to everyone watching this video!

Just passed it today 10/26/23 and I looked at videos and comments, trying to get an idea as well as preparing myself for it. I ran a few nights a week and timed myself, push ups I never had a problem with, nor upper body strength. I’m in my late 30s now and not that active anymore, so I wouldn’t say it was a piece of cake, but dedication before scheduling your appointment is needed. I’m not good at running at all, however because of the practice I’ve been doing, I was able to run the half mile nonstop by just pacing myself and breathing. It’s not a race and they shout out the time so you have an idea where you are. At the end I surprised myself and pushed, passing 3 people. The obstacle course isn’t bad but I was still a little winded from the run, even with the rest we had but I completed it in 1 min 50 secs

An update to this agility test. There were rumors that you are allowed to skip one of the obstacles on the course. That’s not the case anymore, you have to complete every obstacle. The other exercises as in the run, trigger pulls, sit ups and push-ups are just as the other commenters have posted. Do some timed runs so you can condition yourself to running the 1/2 mile in under 4:30. Go to your local park and practice on the monkey bars. The people that failed either failed doing the bars or push-ups. You need a little upper body strength. It wasn’t hard but I do think you need a little conditioning to complete it successfully. Good luck!

Just took it today. There’s four stages. 10 push-ups/ 10 sit-ups, trigger pull, half mile run under 4:30, and the obstacle course under 2 minutes. The push-ups were easy, there’s a little pressure plate that goes under your chest, the sit-ups were easy ( make sure your elbows go across your knees ), trigger pull is simple ( 24 shots dominant hand, 18 shots weak hand ). You have to pass these stages to move onto the track. It’s a half mile run under 4:30, my time was 4:17. After you pass those stages, you move onto the obstacle course. The instructors walk you through it prior to you running the course. It’s very simple, just take your time on the monkey bars, if your foot touches the ground you have to restart. Like I said, you have 2 minutes to complete it, my time was 1:46. I’m 6’2, 256 pounds. If I can do it, you can too. If you have any questions, I’ll try to answer them to the best of my ability, good luck!

So, I want to update everyone with this. I took this test about 2 days ago. I am 290lbs and 5'10. I wasnt sure if I was going to make it, but I gotta say that this is durable. the 1/2 mile run wasnt so bad and I'm overweight. Just go to your local park and run a lap and then walk a lap. What helped me was running with the group. I knew if they made it, I would. I started off running at a good speed in the beginning, so when I got tired almost toward the end, I pushed. The Obstacle course starts 15 mins after the run. I have NO EXPERIENCE with the monkey bars and I dont have good upperstrength, But I started two weeks before the test and did pushups every 2/3 days. I passed this exactly at 2:00. This wasn't so bad. This is coming from someone that is overweight, but I used to be athletic. You can do it. The only thing that we did not do was the log because it was wet and the candidate that went before me fell, so they cut that out. The pushups was half pushups and they have you count outloud. I wont say goodluck, all I would say is prepare like you would do with any test. Condition at least 2 weeks prior to testing and you're gonna be just fine. Only 1 person out of about 40 of us failed the 1/2 mile run. If you fail that, you arent allowed to move forward in the testing.

The Academy is after you've done those initial tests. Before the academy, you have to pass the cjbat, physical test, and swimming test then apply. You take the tests at the Broward College Davie Campus. Once you apply, you'll need to pass a polygraph, psychological exam, a background check, and a medical exam. If you pass everything I listed, only then will you be instructed on an academy date. As far as where the academy is, I'm not entirely sure but I would assume you'd attend the broward college academy.

But it pays in dividends because theyre an extremely beneficial exercise to develop for overall strength and greatly improve push up performance as well.
