I spent yesterday trying to get points to match. I was ready to give up when I found your tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing something that works.
Agree with the others; this technique is point perfect! Thanks so much. Thankfully I found this after only sewing a few together. I will be seam ripping those out as the 1/4 inch was inconsistent. These are spot on! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you! I cut my pieces exactly. Usually cut a tad larger then pattern stipulates and square up after sewing. So this time I've really struggled. Your method has been a fantastic help. My diamonds have perfect points with evenly lined up fabric edges. For adding the next piece.
I started the lone star pattern this weekend and just spent the entire afternoon struggling to match those seams! Ripping and sewing and ripping and sewing. I knew there had to be a trick out there. This worked perfectly. Thank you so much!!
I like your video. I am new to sewing and would have loved to have seen how you cut the diamond and how you sewed each row. Maybe you could do a follow up video and show the other steps.
A bit of a tip for you - A spare bit of batting that you are going to toss anyway will wipe off chalk like a charm. I have stopped marking with frixion pens and have gone back to my Bohin chalk marker, which I love.
That's exactly the same method for pinning any matching seam, at any angle. Stick the pin 1/4 inch from the raw edge AT the thread line on both pieces.
If you mark with a ruler and then aim for the points as per this video you should be fine without worrying too much about it. This video might help though m.ruclips.net/video/aYMSc84t2ak/видео.html

How do I do a diamond on a 2/1/4 strip
The process is the same for all strips sizes
