Looks great, always amazed after doing alot of masked adjustments when pressing y , it really changes almost without realizing how much before you check the original
100%, they are probably the biggest part of my editing process
@@thaticelandicguy Same here, just went home from birdphoto i tåkern, i think i have about 20 masks in one photo for the moment, and it is not done
Is the raw file still available? 😅

Iceland is so beautiful indeed 😊
Great tutorial! can you do short videos in Lightroom?
I just found you some days ago and like binge-watching you! :) Big complements to your pics, editing and the funny way you are! Just wondered which laptop you are using, bc well - it's a laptop and has to have a lot of power....
I have a gigabyte aero 15, I'm so so happy with it. It has lots of power but it's loud as f
I really like how the image looks, can you please make a tutorial on how to film, how to set the camera and how to make color grades? Thanks
Sure thing!
@@thaticelandicguy love you :D
I love your videos, and watching your channel has sparked an interest in photography for me, but I have an issue where I feel like any time I edit anything in lightroom it just feels like I made it look objectively worse, I know it's mainly opinionated, but is there any way to gauge if your edits are better/worse than the original?
I'm in the same boat with you. I noticed I feel more comfortable with certain changes I make if they are something I made consciously rather than "well, this looks nice" because that feeling can pass/change, but when it's a decision it solidifies better and has a "judgment value" because you are inspecting whether it achieved the desired goal. To that end, I search/save tutorials about theory and choices.
So now, so as not to be vague, here's an example: I learned from Joanna Kustra about the effect of color weight and luminance. If one color is more dominant (50% of the image), it should be desaturated, and other colors brought up. If it's 75%, try lowering its brightness, too.
Luminance: turn the image black&white and see if your subject/point of interest draws the eye. Even if two parts of the image have different saturation/intensity, if they have the same luminance (same grey values) they will be processed at the same time because luminance is processed before hue. This makes the eyes dart all over and tire faster. If you find it uncomfortable/ hard to focus for long on the image, it's a general indication it's "flat" or "unfocused." The same applies to detail, clarity, texture. Even minor changes are absorbed by the eye and work on a subconscious level.
One video even suggested that as a general rule, it's better to prioritize lowering values of "uninteresting" elements than raise the "interesting."
This is just one example but that generally helps me look at something as "good" or "bad."
Nice
☺️
Would like to edit along to the video, though can't find a download for the RAW file. Am I missing something?
I’ll check why, I thought the file should be there?
@@thaticelandicguy I would also have liked to download the file to edit along with you, but there's still no link for it?
can you show me how to edit like white art on instagram and please use a background that is similar to the skin colour
With cropping, is it always necessary? I want my first edited photo to be printed (love to do a large print). Is there anything to look out for when editing with the intent of printing?
You don't have to crop if you don't want to. I just shoot a lot hand held and if you are posting it on insta you want a 4x5 crop (:
How come your lightroom app looks different?
Amazing tutorial as always, just a tiny thing:
Maybe for those who don't know, you were trying to say to keep press shift, not ALT to move slow in Lightroom.
Thank you! Hmm on my PC I press alt to move slow in the tone curves ☺️
@@thaticelandicguy Good to know, maybe depends from the keyboard language/settings 😄
Very good job and presentation!
I only have a slight objection, which is always leave cropping for the end. Why not edit the entire frame and then crop out whatever you want (if any). Maybe insta (with its stupid vertical 4/5) is the trend today but tomorrow there might be something different. Why not having the whole frame edited and select according to the situation, instead of editing all the way from the start? Even in Instagram you need 16/9 if you want to post your photo in a Story (like I do)
I always keep an edited full frame and then crop according to the media (or not at all) Maybe there will be a need for a small fine tuning (like vignetting) but this is much easier than having to redo the whole thing.
makes sense tbh, I just do the crop first based on where I want this photo to be posted or printed. That is i know beforehand where I want the content to be consumed. That way I can edit the photo accordingly. But will 100% try your method next time! :)
where is the raw file?
